time away but to ease the pain the band have previewed two new songs In Vein which happens to start off sounding like a bouncy ska song before branching out into the classic upbeat Alkaline Trio signature sound the second song is Help Me which is the bands lead single which will be released during the run up to the album Help Me is a great return for Alkaline Trio the song shows that the band continue to move on in sound with every release the song is extremely infectious and a lot more upbeat and poppy than the majority of the Alkaline Trio back catalogue the song opens with a short piano introduction and soon after the drums bass and guitar come in there is nothing too special about the instrumental work but it all seems to stand out in its own way Matt s vocals are as good as ever just a lot more infectious the chorus is quite repetitive but in a good way and after just a couple of listens it will be hard to shake the lyrics Help me help me wont you sing me sing me one last song help me help me somebody help me save me from myself out of your head Now if you go to pretty much any music forum you will find posts from people slagging off Help Me claiming that it s too mainstream too poppy sounds like Fall Out Boy and that the new album will suck Now these comments are to be expected but quite laughable at the same time For a start for someone to claim that an album will suck on the judgement of one song shows a lack of brains and thoughts for the song to be compared to Fall Out Boy shows

the past five years Remains starts off with Hell yes which has just been released as an exclusive 7 single The song is about the late Anton Lavey and is quite a fast and catchy song There are so many highlights on the cd such as the live favourite of Jaked on Green Beers which has been taken from the Atticus Dragging the Lake compilation cd Also Warbrain which is taken from the hugely successful Rock Against Bush compilation album Also the biggest highlight in my opinion is Queen Of Pain which was recorded for the split cd with Hot Water Music and is one of the best songs the band have ever recorded Their are also a few cover songs thrown in such as a cover of The Damned s Wait For the Blackout which originally appeared on the bands BYO split cd with One Man Army The same cd also brought us Sadie which has since appeared on Alkaline Trio s last full length album Crimson and is now on Remains The last few tracks on remains are live tracks of Deathbed I m Dying Tomorrow and a live acoustic version of My Standard Break From Life which were performed in Hollywood back in early 2006 and just showcases how good alkaline Trio are live Also included on Remains is a DVD which features all the bands videos for the singles from all their Vagrant records releases The DVD also features the Remains of 2005 2006 which is basically a 45 minute video of the band on the road with live and backstage footage of the band all over the world on their Crimson world tour The DVD also has a few bonus features such as the making of the Burn video This is a must buy package

how well Alkaline Trio have developed themselves lyrically and musically Mercy Me is the stand out track on the album for me It s the most catchy and poppiest track on the album which is almost certain to be a future single for Alkaline Trio Saying that most of the songs on the album are worthy of being singles with their catchy choruses and trademark vocals that they are known and loved for The songs on the album are still very personal but in a totally different way moving on from Skiba s personal issues to real life crime and things close to his heart Prevent this Tragedy is an example of this It is a song about the west Memphis three three teenagers wrongly convicted of satanic murder in 1994 Then we also have Sadie a song that originally appeared on the One Man Army split CD The song is about Sadie Mae Glutz and is a well produced song The album ends perfectly with Smoke the more mellow track Overall Crimson is great They have managed to develop their unique sound further They are more mature but dark themed and as catchy as ever The die hard fans

is happening in his life and frontman Tyson Ritter admits that previously in his life he has felt like this which makes for personal sounding song the lyrics are well written and sung in Tyson Ritter s well loved unique way compared to the bands previous single releases The Beekeepers Daughter is defiantly much bigger and powerful sounding whilst maintaining the pop vibes that the band have always be known

American Rejects album in the way that their well known melodic charge is gone and has been replaced with more beautiful sounding softly spoken vocals from front man Tyson Ritter which do become slightly uplifting during the chorus the song is a proper wave your lighters in the air moment or should I say mobile phones as the All American Rejects fan base are far from being old enough to

spent the majority of 2008 in the studio working on their third album When The World Comes Down the album is pretty much ready now and to keep their fans happy whilst waiting for the album release they are releasing a brand new single called Gives You Hell Gives You Hell is an extremely infectious bouncy poppy song that sounds slightly cheesy but is so damn enjoyable it sounds slightly different from the bands previous material but easily proves that the band can try things a bit differently and still come up with a killer track Like most of the band s songs the chorus will stick in your head for a long time as it is well catchy and the outro is just memorable as a huge crowd of people sing along word for word with the band With each single and album release The All American Rejects come back better than ever and this time around things are no different off the back of this one single I personally can t wait to get my hands on the band s new album When The World Comes Down 5 5 Review by Trigger Band Members Tyson Vocals Bass Nick

excited about Songs such as One Day We ll Fly Again and Thorne In My Side are perfect examples of just how good this band are with the latter bringing the EP to an unfortunately premature close Chock full of pounding drums huge guitar riffs gang vocals and melodic vocals All Forgotten have offered five songs that simultaneously punch you in the gut whilst sweetly serenading All Forgotten could quite

starts off well with Waiting which begins really slow and then builds the pace as the song goes on Then we have a bundle of catchy songs like A Lotta Nerve which is a good singalong pop punk song Also From The Ground Up which gets you bopping along and the awesome Rewind The first signs of the more mature sound comes on track 5 Blackout which is a very slow sounding track that just doesn t feel like Allister but works well And it doesn t stop there track number 9 A Study In Economics also doesn t sound like them but is a great song and pretty catchy One of my favourite tracks on the album is The Legend Of Pegleg Sullivan which is like a classic Allister song and is full of great melody and is the most catchy memorable track on the album Overall the album is what you would expect from the band but with a mixture of mature sounding rock songs and catchy poppy punk songs So if you re a fan of Allister you will like this record but I cant see this gaining the band a whole new set of fans 3
