go break their arms offers some proper post hardcore with the stranglehold like grip the track seems to have on you Its catchiness is hard to miss Like any album the obligatory soft track is required in an attempt to cool down the three piece s release Lawless vocals appear strong and expressive on track No Gravity with a raw hint of Rise Against thrown in for added effect Nasally vocals equals emotion well definitely in this case anyhow After two minutes of fairly typical acoustic esque music the drums kick in quickly followed by ripping guitars to make this track a definite standout After the first few tracks the album simply trails off and you get the impression that whilst these guys are clearly impressive musicians who have a knack for creating cleverly arranged music fused with passion and hardcore perhaps these guys would have been better releasing two EP s throughout the year instead of releasing an album which to me seems like it would have benefited for a little bit of extra time Track Come Together offers the odd noodley guitar riff which perks you up for a little bit but the problem personally is the sheer monotone vocals which seem to remain the same pitch throughout the 11 track release Whilst track Beyond all Doubt is the first time the band seem excited as the poppier side of the guys is unleashed still hindered by vocals however this is a surprisingly good song Anchors for Arms debut release shows a hell of a lot of promise and they seem to clearly understand the technicalities of what makes a good song however the disappointment comes when you realised that the vocals have a pitch range as varied at Stephen Hawking and this is turn made what could

with this haunting sinister sounding music Now that I ve properly described what the music actually sounds like I ve got to say whether it s actually work wasting 35 minutes of your time listening to If like me you re the type of person that likes music to provoke energy or aggression then I will say that this album will not be for you reason being that it feels just a bit too depressing and maybe a tad too sinister calling themselves black metal was is a bit of a push because it s far too light even though the feel and lyrical content is all there I personally don t really know many people myself that would enjoy this kind of thing There are a couple of songs that aren t so miserable that I can actually begin to enjoy and those are VVorld of Flesh and Forever Tonight the thing with those 2 tracks is that they actually have decent electric guitar sections that uplift the track and give it some necessary filling I think the main things to bear in mind about the album are that it s not upbeat at all it s heavily acoustic

mind was made up on the single back when I reviewed the album The Puzzle is quite an eerie sounding song it sounds like something you would hear from The Snowman movie but also sounds very much like the Icelandic sensation that is Björk where the backing music is very spooky and eerie sounding the vocals on the other hand are really brought to life with Ane s real fast

sleep like I did The album opens with The Treehouse Song and the song actually happens to be my favourite song from the album the song has a really quirky quick vibe about it whilst everything manages to sound quite low key the vocals are beautiful and enough to send a chill down your spine whilst the lyrics are quite witty and well written with Ane singing We were going to live in a treehouse and make babies we were going to bury our ex lovers and their ghosts The Fall is another song that really stands out once again everything is quite low key with the instrumental side of things kept to a minimal leaving Ane to shine on the vocal front in fact the song reminds me of snow and the cold as it s the kind of instrumental that s playing whilst watching those old Christmas films when it starts to snow The Puzzle sounds quite gothic and eerie and also reminds me of the theme song to The Snowman all at the same time well that s until Ane goes into over drive with her fast flowing vocals which really helps bring the song to life and stand out so much from the other tracks on the album Changing Of The Seasons features 15 tracks and runs for just over 50minutes and features some really strong and stunning moments but I find that I have to listen to the album in different stages for example if I listen to the album from start to finish in one listen then I know I will fall asleep as the songs have quite a chilled out sleepy feel about them and as the album goes on you can t pick one song out from the other due to the

at the end of the year but in the meantime front man Andy Biersack has recently announced his Andy Black solo side project which see s his influences of Depeche Mode and Sisters Of Mercy thrown into his own solo offerings They Don t Need to Understand is the first song to be released under the Andy Black moniker and it is a dark sounding song which sounds so different from anything he has done with the Black Veil Brides and the more you listen to the song the more you start to fall in love with it as Andy Black seriously has a knack of drawing you in especially with the Kings Of Leon Use Somebody vibe running throughout and the powerful chorus which has Andy Black singing We re always running away and we don t even stop to think about it the world s in our hands yeah they don t need to understand we do it our own way no matter what they try to say about it we ve got our own plans yeah they don t need to understand It really doesn t matter what your opinion on the Black Veil Brides is I

day every time it is played instrumentally the song is exactly what you would expect from a pop punk anthem as you can clearly tell these guys have grown up listening to the likes of Blink 182 All Time Low and Simple Plan relentlessly Faith In Me starts off with a bit of false hope with its slow paced opening as seconds later the song progresses into a big and bouncy pop punk anthem which is extremely upbeat especially when the Woa ooah woa ooahs hit and towards the middle of the song the band pay homage to The Ramones with some backing shouts of Hey ho lets go which has always been the classic Ramones catchphrase since like time began The EP closer Call You Mine I Don t Want To is a lot more serious sounding than the previous songs and the way front man Chris Tunnicliffe s vocals flow through the song is outstanding with the general feel of the song being ever so perfect The alternative music scene in Britain is currently on an all time high with so many bands breaking out of the underground scene and reaching for the big time and I have

Mixtwich Gash and many others dominating the various toilet sized venues up and down the country It is good that And Now We re Even are helping to make the scene healthy again Summer With You opens up with Hunter which is a great song that has a fast punk sound with some raw sounding sing a long vocals Stay True Stay You has a pure ska sound throughout with sing a long vocals that seem to get faster and faster building up to the chorus The album title track Summer With You is a fast happy affair Lemonade is my favourite song on the album and is a pure ska song that will leave you wanting to skank along and is the perfect sound track for the summer when the sun is shining on you Skankalicious is another fast paced ska song but fails to live up to the skankiness of Lemonade still a good song though The album closes with The Why In Sorry a song that s fast and full of intense guitar solo s and great constant drumming And Now We re Even have produced the perfect album for the summer with Summer With You the

finish the song is like pure sexual noise to the ears and I am normally not one for instrumental tracks but I feel here with the lack of vocals it really does give the bands instrumental work time to shine as the guitar bass and drums work so well together in this 4minute masterpiece I believe that And So I Watched You From Afar are a band that need to
