thing to happen from the album release was that The Automatic went on to release five singles and two of the five singles happened to be re releases which seemed like a bit of a cash in releasing the songs again after the band had found major success but then again this was more down to the record label than the actual band It s been a good sixteen months since The Automatic last released anything in the UK a lot of changes have happened within the band first of all one of the bands founding members keyboardist Alex Pennie has left the band to pursue in other projects and in his replacement the band have taken on former Yourcodenameis milo frontman Paul Mullen however Paul Mullen isn t a direct replacement for Alex Pennie as Mullen has taken on duties as the bands rhythm guitarist with the band claiming that all four band members will split the synths and keyboard duties which is quite a brave move The band have also been busy working on their second album which has now been titled This Is A Fix and is due for release towards the end of August the first single to be taken from the album is Steve McQueen and what a tune it is Not only is Steve McQueen the first single to be taken from the bands forthcoming second album This Is A Fix is also the first track to be released to feature the all new Automatic line up Forget Monster forget Recover forget the poppy hooks infact forget anything that you may have heard from The Automatic before as Steve McQueen is nothing like the bands previous material it s more mature and certainly a lot heavier The guitar work during Steve McQueen is the

which really did it for The Automatic and was one of the best anthems of the summer with its pure catchy sing a long style The song Monster was shortly followed by the bands debut album Not Accepted Everywhere which has given The Automatic the success that they deserve Since that success the band have re released their debut single Recover and are starting off 2007 with a re release of their second single Raoul which isn t the best move starting off a new year with yet another re released single Luckily for the band most of their fans will treat this as a brand new single release as they gained most of their fans after the release of the third single Monster For the people who have been fans from the start there are some added bonuses to the single such as the bands version of Kanye West s Gold Digger and a Fatboy Slim remix of Monster Raoul is a great tune but it s just a shame the band have chosen to re release this when they have a whole album full of great songs they could release as singles 3 5 5 Review by Trigger

was released before the band got famous but this time the band have re recorded it so it sounds slightly different Recover is a fast paced disco pop indie song with a huge chorus that will get fans chanting at their gigs I don t think you are going to be able to escape the Automatic this year with songs as catchy as this and many sold out tours the

second single Raoul was a grower for me the first few times I listened to it I wasn t to impressed but the more I listened the more it grew on me the track has a great guitar riff that runs through out most of the song also has some quality drumming and catchy vocals The bands third single Monster is the best they have released yet and one of the most unique catchy tracks I have heard all year that will appeal to almost everyone The rest of the album is just as good with such quality catchy songs such as opener That s What She Said Keep Your Eyes Peeled and On The Campaign Trail being the best of the rest The album finishes with Rats which starts off with loads of electro dance beats and then the vocals come in shortly after another quality catchy song and a good end to a stunning album I recommend everyone to buy this album as this band are going to go far and I don t think you will come across a more unique and more exciting UK band this year This year is The Automatics year 5 5 Review

with something totally new but it s definitely a breath of fresh air And if it doesn t grab you straight away it most certainly will and won t take long It s a song with attitude without being offensive in your face or loud It s relatively laid back and easy to listen to yet still has the drum and bass rhythms that just make you nod or tap

to put an A7X stamp on this could could be a smart move to move in a different direction as it gives them more of a chance to shine Now I can say without a doubt that I like this very much but I can also say I loved Nightmare so much more I mean there are some extremely impressive songs here like Heretic which does have a noticeable similarity to Megadeth s Symphony of Destruction but not to the extent that you would say they ve ripped it off more that they ve took vast influence from it Coming Home which really shines on that blues rock approach with a bouncy beat and some extremely impressive vocal work Hail To The King which is ludicrously addicted just for that chorus alone with a demonic riff This Means War which I assume is what people are comparing to Metallica s Sad But True but in all fairness the comparison is just as there is a very similar riff and structure but again it s not so much to call it a cheap rip off and is actually quite an enjoyable song I am just a bit disappointed because Avenged have always been heavier than this not that their softer stuff isn t absolutely stunning work some of my favourite in fact but this feels like a completely different band which in all fairness after everything they ve been through for them may not be a bad thing Looking at my iTunes with all of their releases all of the tracks on City of Evil Avenged Sevenfold and Nightmare all have near enough all 5 star ratings with a couple of exceptions Hail To The King however isn t as highly rated in my opinion whilst I do like it and

of the same name now last time any of us saw Avenged Sevenfold in the UK was at their explosive sub performance to System Of A Down on the main stage at the Download festival back in June 2011 so it has been a long wait for Avenged to create some new music and be ready to hit the stage again Hail To The King starts with an epic instrumental peace running for just over one minute as the whole band come in one by one with huge riffs punchy drum beats and general progressive sounds before M Shadows comes in with his unique vocals sounding bigger and better than ever before as the song progresses we are treated to guitar solos group chants and so much more Overall Hail To The King runs for just over 5minutes it features all the elements that make up a classic Avenged Sevenfold song but at the same time is so different from previous Avenged Sevenfold material and shows the band in a more mature light yet with a more radio friendly sound which is going to see their fan base go through the roof 5 5 Avenged Sevenfold Hail To The King

favourite and also happens to have a regular appearance in the bands live show the song flows at a really fast pace it sounds quite big and happy but at the same time Synyster Gates and Mike Portney really do show off with their guitar riffs and big drum beats M Shadows vocals are on top form with his style changing throughout the song The single does feature an instrumental
