be one of the longest running tracks on the album clocking in at just under 5minutes and 30seconds which perfectly gives Blessthefall the time to put pretty much everything in place to show what they are all about for 90 of the song things are big and aggressive sounding and for 10 things become chilled and quite melodic as Beau Bokan sings his heart out You Wear A Crown But You re No King opens up with a set of brutal gang vocals and from this moment the song goes on a frantic journey which features big breakdown catchy choruses angry screams which overall give off a mad psychotic sound One of the stand out tracks on the album has to be Youngbloods as the song is easily the heaviest track on the album packing an almighty punch from start to finish the build ups and break downs add dynamics to the song and the band really lay the smack down when it comes to their vocals and the guest appearance from Jesse Barnett from Stick To Your Guns really adds to the overall excitement and feel of the song There are a few guests throughout the album but the most exciting happens to be frontman Beau Bokan s wife Lights who guests on the epic closing track Open Water the song runs for a mammoth 7minutes and is abeautiful sounding laid back song from start to where both Beau Bokan and Lights are on top form with their soothing vocals Hollow Bodies is easily the most important album of Blessthefall s career so far and I feel that it has really lived up to the hype as for the majority the band leave you wanting to take on the world as you listen to the aggressive sounds of Exodus

of the really happy stuff to which fans are accustomed A big mention needs to be made in regard to Travis s drumming here it s absolutely fantastic Following track Natives takes the exactly same approach with that darker feel it also includes dual vocals from DeLonge and Mark Hoppus having actually had a look into the lyrical themes and having a few more listens I m beginning to notice that this album s lyrics and music are actually really dark themed similar to the direction Sum 41 took but not anywhere near as drastic Snake Charmer is the perfect example of the new style used to it fullest DeLonge s vocals at some of their best here accompanied by streams of crunchy guitars exquisite drumming and eerie vocal sections The whole second half of the album to be honest is a little more familiar to the happy go lucky origins of Blink 182 Hearts All Gone is the turning point where the darkness is drained and the light reigns once again the guitar tones sound a lot happier if you will and the vocal work rather than having that sinister edge rings out as though it has a metaphoric smile This is followed with Wishing Well Kaleidoscope This is Home Mh 4 18 2011 and Love is Dangerous which are all written with the same vintage style which every classic possesses You may have noticed I ve left a song out there which is Fighting the Gravity I ve left that out to talk about separately because it s very strange when compared to the rest of the songs All the other tracks whether dark or upbeat have been quite bouncy whereas this one is really mellow by that I mean the tempo s dropped down and the guitar

there Up All Night is unlike anything that Blink 182 have ever done if you read forums and the bands Facebook page you will see that it is rammed of messages asking when Mark Hoppus and Travis Barker joined Angels And Airwaves because in reality the song has more of an Angels And Airwaves feel than it does Blink 182 but saying that it also has elements of Box Car Racer and Plus 44 so to me it looks like Blink 182 have put all the arguments about previous bands behind them and used it their benefit to come up with a harder hitting more mature sound the track opens with a massive guitar riff that is bound to cause a frenzy in the mosh pit moments later Delonge s vocals come in sounding like he is taking us on yet another Angels And Airwaves adventure which is going to be a love hate divide with most Blink 182 fan s but after listening to the song over and over again I love the fact he has gone down that vocal route the drumming is killer from start to finish with Barker smashing the hell out of his drums like his life depends on it and in general the song takes us on an more experimental route which leaves the Blink we all love and no back at the starting blocks Overall there is going to be a massive divide over Up All Night as it has been an 8 year wait the band have recently upset the English fans by postponing a massive UK tour by a year whilst opting to tour America with My Chemical Romance instead which has put a lot of the fans in a negative mindset on first listen I am sure many people will

the best songs from the album and the rest of the songs being total fillers that you end up skipping to get to the singles Well once again the Bloodhound Gang are back with another cracking single this time with Screwing You On The Beach At Night and as you can tell by the title the Bloodhound Gang are dealing with their favourite topic once again yes sex is the topic and seems to be the topic of the majority of the Bloodhound Gang s back catalogue but the way Bloodhound Gang do things is quite humorous and that s why the band have been doing the same thing and going for a long time The song is full of pop beats sounding like something you would hear in an Ibiza nightclub but after all isn t that the number one place for people getting jiggy on the beach The lyrics are quite humorous like you would expect from the Bloodhound Gang and Jimmy Pop s vocals are as good as ever The Bloodhound Gang are releasing Screwing You On The Beach At Night to coincide with their current tour across the UK on the Get Happy Tour the Bloodhound

Brighton duo go down an rocking experimental route for 3 tracks which run for a combined time of 9minutes the EP opens with Red River which opens straight up with some solid drum beats from Steve Ansell whilst vocalist Laura Mary Carter comes in seconds later as she repeatedly shouts out Take me back home take me back home as the song progresses Steven and Laura rock out with some outstanding instrumental work which ticks every box Black Distractions once again see s the band go down the experimental route with some great instrumental work especially the drum beats which Steve manages to bash out in style vocally the song is extremely strong with Steve and Laura s dual vocals working well with great vocal harmonization on show The final track of the EP Idle Hands is the least rocky track out of the three but it is just as enjoyable especially towards the end where things get frantic for a good 20 seconds from the 2minute 25seconds mark The release of The Water EP will provide the perfect start of 2013 for Blood Red Shoes they also have a couple of live shows announced for Norwich and London to

ve Strick Gold and the opening guitar riff is huge the drumming also stands out really well frontman Ash Hunter s vocals soon come in but don t sound a bit drowned out due to what sounds like bad recording but overall the song hits all the right notes Fine Just Fine is a really raw punk sounding shout along song One of the best offerings on the album has to be Sailing To The Moon the song is absolutely mental and has a lot going on it s the kind of song that will have you bouncing off the walls of your room it s so random but so good at the same time In between some of the songs on the album the band use some recorded vocal sound clips such as on the start of Fine Just Fine and also on the start of Unforgivable the sound clips are nothing exciting but adds to the overall randomness of the bands sound The overall recording quality of Blues And Snakes self titled debut album is quite poor but the overall sound of the band is quite interesting they have quite a lot going on at once and have

the remains of a town reduced to rubble a thick fog creeps in as survivors begin to crawl out and wander around in shock Blueneck s intense sound scape of all things analogue and huge soaring guitars is a real treat to the ears with distant mumblings sombre strings eerie pianos and massive reverbed drums taking on almost slow industrial beats It s fair to say that if you like a bit of Silver Mt Zion then you re going to like this And if you don t then you might not Highlight tracks for me are the opener Depart From Me You Who Are Cursed which slowly builds throughout as the sad strings and piano gain emphasis and a flood of cymbals around straight into the second track Seven which flows beautiful from the previous track and introduces a steady beat almost DJ Shadow like About half way through it explodes into darkness and as one guitar wails in the distance the foreground is very much consumed by the thick bass and deep fuzzy guitars Although similar to A Silver Mt Zion Blueneck might be considered a touch more linear such as on tracks like Lilitu which above the

sounding chill out song it is the kind of song you can listen to in your living room with your slippers on feet up whilst smoking a cigar relaxing in the best possible way now don t get thinking that the song is boring because it is not it is the kind of song where everyone at the bands gigs will sway their arms from side to side with their
