his game laying down so of his finest vocals One More Song is a very deep dark and moody song for the majority but it does feature a few good bursts of energy at much needed places and it is so understandable why the song runs at the pace it does and that is because it is Joey Cape s tribute to his best friend Tony Sly and what a tribute it is as the song is so moving and one you will find yourself coming back to again and again Reign sounds just like the Lagwagon you have always known and loved as the song comes at you with speeds of 100 miles per hour as the whole band go all out like their life depended on making the song as big catchy and bouncy as possible and it truly does shine in the best possible way The Cog In The Machine see s Lagwagon go down the alt rock route again and once again it seems to work it may sound more like something that Dave Grohl and his band mates would write and record than what Joey Cape and co would do and for that reason it just showcases how during this 9 year break Lagwagon have changed and got really creative when it comes to song writing Western Settlements opens with so tasty riffs and starts off going down the Foo Fighter route again full of bounce and aggressive instrumental work and this flows for the duration of the song yet it is the infectious chorus which fully brings the song to life as Joey Cape sings his heart out Burden Of Proof see s Lagwagon go down a proper stripped down route however the song fails to get going Burning Out In Style see s

events the band have gone through over the past year or so and after listening to the album it is safe to say that this new four piece New Found Glory have come out fighting and easily won as Resurrection is easily the hardest hitting yet catchiest album the band have ever released With Resurrection you have to hand it to Chad Gilbert with the departure of Steve Klein he has had to take on the majority of the song writing and also happens to be the sole guitarist and he has proved that New Found Glory can work as a four piece and can also survive as a four piece as some of the riffs he lays down are so hard and in your face and so are the lyrics if you actually take the time to take them on board The album kicks off with the lead single Selfless and the song is massive opening up with some of the strongest riffs that New Found Glory have ever laid down and when Jordan Pundik comes in his vocals sound as strong as ever as he sings out I wanna live selfless instead of just floating by living every day like it s my last and I can catch up on my sleep when I die The album title track Resurrection is a perfect sing a long pop punk track once again the guitars are turned up a couple of extra notches as Chad Gilbert once again proves what an excellent musician he is and once the group screams come in of Burn you down you start to realise that New Found Glory have a lot of built up anger to let off and are doing it in the best possible way As the album progresses you start to

Steven Neufeld Bass Vocals to form new band This Legend This Legend have just signed to Cyber Tracks records which is run by NOFX s El Hefe and his wife and the band are currently working on their debut album which will be released through that label later in the year but in the mean time they have just premiered their debut single Lyrics With My Pen Lyrics With My Pen is a big fun pop punk track with a slight hard hitting edge it stays quite true to the sound of yellowcard in places but then again after two members have spent half their lives in the band it would be hard to shake away that influence the vocals from Chris Castillo stand out in a good way and towards the end of the song Longineu W Parsons III treats us to some outstanding drum work which makes me wonder was he not allowed to be as creative as he wanted towards the later days of his Yellowcard career On the back of Lyrics With My Pen things seem quite promising for This Legend and with an American tour throughout November and December with Lagwagon on the cards I

straight away showing off his piano and vocal skills Just No Way is a beautiful song and easily one of the most beautiful songs on Toseland s debut album Renegade the song is a power ballad where James Toseland goes all out showing off the piano skills he has known since he was about 7 whilst also laying down some of the albums finest vocals It is safe to say

set at the Download Festival at Castle Donington in June and now the band are set to head back to the UK any day now and also embark on a full blown European tour and to coincide with that they have decided to release a career encompassing album called Vital Signs and they have just released the massive Monster from Vital Signs as a single Monster is a hard rocking song which oozes in speed seriously this song is frantic from start to finish and is one hell of a mosh pit anthem and when you hear the song you start to wonder why Skillet have been kept a secret for so many years and only properly known in America as they quite simply rock and Monster is easily one of the best rock anthems of the year as it has the knack to make you forget about all your worries for 3minutes whilst you rock out in the comfort of your own room It is about time that Skillet get the recognition they deserve in the UK as they are one powerful rock band who have a back catalogue of killer tunes and if you think Monster is good

as the main guitar riff kicked in the crowd went into a frenzy what a song to kick off a set with During my time photographing the band they played Miscreation and Turmoil 1 Wolves which are also very heavy songs As soon as Turmoil 1 ended they went into Turmoil 2 The Weak Inherit the Earth This song had a slight erie feel to it with the clean guitar opening the song then with Jamie Graham getting the crowd chanting along with him the band took the clean sounding guitars switched them off and unleashed a catchy heavy distorted guitar riff and a catchy drum beat With the crowd feeding off the riff s and the drums the song took a turn that had all the moshpit ready fans waiting and the band made sure none of the moshing fans where disappointed As the song ended the crowd gave back to the band all the energy that the band put into that performance with a loud cheer and roar Heart Of A Coward ended their set with Shade and Deadweight Shade had a very Killswitch Engage Trivium vibe to it which the crowd had no issue with getting into I myself really enjoyed this song As with one song left this had got the crowd in Heart of A Cowards hands To which they reply with a heavy closing song Deadweight Deadweight open with a catchy drum roll and guitar riff then Jamie screamed Deadweight down the mic to ensure that everyone in the crowd started headbanging along with the main riff Song featured a lot of opportunities for the crowd to get the dust out of the necks various times I found myself headbanging along a lot This was a great song to the end set with and to get the crowd ready for the mighty Trivium I had never heard of Heart Of A Coward before I missed the opportunity to see them when they supported Machine Head which was also at the O2 Academy in 2014 Heart Of A Coward tonight provided a solid set the first 4 songs they played came from their recently released album Deliverance while the set was closed with 2 songs off Dead Sea and Severance albums I really enjoyed Heart Of A Coward set I would recommend anybody who is into Killswitch Engage or Five Finger Death Punch to check this band out As Heart Of A Coward exited the stage a small army came on to the stage to unveil the stage set for Trivium With the venue almost at its capacity the support bands for tonight As Lions and Heart Of A Coward delivered the goods and got the fans ready for the mighty Trivium After a set change of 20 25 minutes the lights went out and the intro from Trivium s latest album Silence In The Snow Snofall blasted through the speakers and the crowd went crazy with the impending arrival of Trivium The smoked filled

with a broken neck from the assault from the drums Out of their 8 song set they played some of their well known tracks such as Kill Those Who Oppose Me Overdosed Brain Riot Braindead I Am The Antidote Personally favourites from the setlist was Hollow Eyes Terror Hungry and Only My Death Is Certain All the members brought the goods to their set and had the crowd in their hands for the song Terror Hungry which got one of many moshpits of the night going Then they was able to tone it right down and play a dark very slow starting but true thrash song Only My Death Is Certain Which got me headbanging with the verse riff then your left wondering what could be coming next that was a highlight of their set To finish off my personal favourites is the track Hollow Eyes which got me hooked within the 1st 20 seconds the opening riff was a absolute beast to hear live for the first time and while listen to the song at home is great hearing it at home does not do it justice with that another moshpit of the night formed Each song Lost Society played more and more the intensity of the crowd grew After each song there was loud cheers and shouting Lost Society had awoken the Toxic Pit ready for the Thrash Legends Exodus Yet again I had never heard of these guys and after their set I can fully say that these guys are destined for big things next time they are in the UK I will be seeing them After a full stage change the Bay Area Thrash Legends Exodus was up next With the announcement of the massive 17 date UK Headlining Tour I was wondering if it might have been too many dates Just before Exodus hit the stage The Fleece was packed and I was proved wrong br Exodus formed back in 1979 with a career spanning a massive 37 years of thrash metal and rightfully taken their place as true metal legends Their current touring line up is Steve Zetro Souza Vocals Kragen Lum Guitars Lee Altus Guitars Jack Gibson Bass Tom Hunting Drums Gary Holt who would be normally handling Guitar duties is currently on the road with Slayer in the US touring with Testament and Carcass Exodus hit the stage and opened with Black 13 from their recent successful album Blood In Blood Out Within seconds of the whole band being on stage 2 moshpits erupted then formed into 1 big one this was the case for the rest of the set Soon after Black 13 they went straight into the title track from their recent album Blood In Blood Out With the crowd chanting Exodus Steve Zetro Souza took to the mic and welcomed everyone to the show and asked if there was any old school fans in attendance to which a lot of the crowd responded with a loud roar in return

the band did not let this harm their performance as they put 101 into things and flung themselves across the stage whilst unleashing their hardcore sounds I hope to check Palm Reader out on the live circuit in the near future where hopefully things will be more on their side The main support band of the night were Oregan metal band Lord Dying and they wasted no time in unleashing the riffs and were quite a pleasing band to watch with the band made up of two guitarists and a drummer with their bass player absent from the tour but it wasn t noticeable as the band sounded solid and laid down some proggy sounds for the majority of the set my eyes were on Nickolis Parks who was an outstanding drummer who literally beat the crap out of his kit yet the duel guitar assault from Chris Evans and Erik Olson plus lead vocals from Olson was also a pleasure on the ears The Cancer Bats took to the stage to play an explosive 70minute 19 song set which was pure mayhem from start to finish and in true Cancer Bats style they let the music do the talking and wasted no time as they blasted their way through the 19 song set which to me and any hard core Cancer Bats fan was the perfect Cancer Bats set with them starting with True Zero and finishing with Satellites from their latest album Searching For Zero whilst also playing songs spanning through their entire back catalogue with the likes of Bricks And Mortar Pneumonia Hawk Hail Destroyer French Immersion Beelzebub and Lucifer s Rocking Chair getting the crowd going with the mosh pit flowing well with arms flying everywhere and people on the outskirts of the mosh pit were also giving it their all jumping up and down like they were on pogo sticks whilst shouting along word for word with Liam Cormier Towards the end of the set Liam Cormier stopped the music for a few minutes whilst he spoke to the crowd to announce that at the end of the tour on the 21st February he will be shaving his hair to raise money for Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation whilst also donating his saved hair to create wigs for cancer patients he also said that at the end of the show he will be at the merch booth with a massive welly collecting peoples donations and would appreciate it if everyone could donate as little as a 1 to help give cancer the boot the announcement was met in such a positive way from the crowd with loud cheers and the Cancer Bats then launched back into business playing the likes of Drunken Physics Sabotage and Satellites and it is safe to say that the cover of Beastie Boys Sabotage and Satellites was the perfect double header to end the show as the songs got the best reaction of the night from the crowd with the majority
