My Valentine are now ready to release the third single from Scream Aim Fire and this time in the form of the full on rocking Waking The Demon Waking The Demon is a huge sounding song it has an equally big introduction as Scream Aim Fire the guitar riffs are outstanding and the solo s have guitar hero written all over them the drumming is in your face and totally constant Waking The Demon if you could wake a demon up but sheer noise and heaviness then Bullet For My Valentine would have a huge chance of waking one up here as the song is one of the heavier songs from the album yet it s still packed with melody and technical break downs Bullet For My Valentine have always had the right mixture in their music they are a metal band and they are quite heavy but at the same time their songs ooze with melody stand out vocals and kick arse guitar riffs and solo s Waking The Demon is my favourite single release from Scream Aim Fire so far 2008 is living up to be the most successful year for Bullet For My Valentine so far and

than their previous effort this is something the band have managed to achieve but at the same time the album does have some great slowed down moments such as with their new single Hearts Burst Into Fire Hearts Burst Into Fire is quite a powerful fast paced song there are moments of aggression but it s the melody and outstanding guitar work that really makes this song one of the most stand out songs on the album and a great choice for single number 2 The riffs are powerful and the solo s are technical and mouth watering the overall song has been written and recorded perfectly bringing one of the best songs Bullet For My Valentine have ever created The b side to Hearts Burst Into Fire is an acoustic version of the song which just sounds a lot more stripped down from the album version but sounds quite real and is something I wish more bands would do The release of Hearts Burst Into Fire show why Bullet For My Valentine are one of the best British rock bands around at the moment they are an extremely hard working band who sure know how to write hit songs

down the middle you are put down for being to poppy and not metal enough and this is something I put down to metal fans being too fussy and not wanting to venture away from liking the big three Guns And Roses Metallica and Iron Maiden Despite the mixed reaction Bullet For My Valentine have got and will forever continue to receive they have gone on and become one of the hardest working metal bands over the last few years touring across the world with pretty much every metal band you can think of and playing the main stage at most rock festivals across the world The bands second album Scream Aim Fire is due out really soon with the band claiming the album to be more metal than their debut The lead single to help promote the album happens to be the album title track Scream Aim Fire and happens to be one hell of a hard hitting metal song that seems to be heavier than anything the band have ever done before Matt Tuck s vocals are as clear yet shouty as ever drummer Moose Thomas s drum kit takes a battering with some constant heavy drumming and

Tears Don t Fall which slows the album down for a bit It features yet again another great catchy chorus One of my favourite tracks on the album is their latest single Suffocating Under Words Of Sorrow It starts with a great guitar riff and then the screaming vocals come in the chorus is a little bit poppy which isn t a bad thing at all Track number 7 All these Things I Hate is another slow song on the album and has an acoustic intro Room 409 starts of with an intro of screaming vocals and the chorus features group vocals and works really well My personal favourite track on the album is the title track The Poison Its heavy all the way through and features a good solo and really good vocals and sounds similar to Trivium in some ways which can only be a good thing Overall The Poison is a stunning album full of heaviness and also has its mellow moments Bullet For My Valentine have got it right with this album and deserve all the praise they get The future of British metal seems bright right now with Bullet for My Valentine right at the

work James Routledge has noticed this and thus in his remix also on the CD the music has been transcribed to electro systhesised beats melodies and sequences And here with the vocal also slightly synthesised it all works beautifully Perhaps a change of direction is in order for Burningpilot who if they want to remain together but make great music should look at the nu rave electronica market New Order

song with a vocal melody I simply cannot work in these conditions Thankfully the prank appears to be a one off Some of the tracks ooze influences from Libertines Dirty Pretty Things and older Ash material with the addition of a sweeping synth here and there A strange combination of futurism and nostalgia that would work surprisingly well if the monotonous vocals were to sort themselves out or finish altogether

sounding a bit too raw mostly in the guitars and growling vocal department the first clear thing I noticed on the first listen to The Union of Crowns was that this has been completely eliminated as the sound is perfectly full and thick sounding Redeemer starts us off with is an extremely dramatic and powerful way to open an album the melodic vocals that made the first album so successful are on great form here with a huge feeling of real emotion The first single debuted on the While She Sleeps tour and to actually be released on the airwaves was Lionheart the song encompasses the same style as the first track except it s much much heavier with a much higher tempo the chorus as well when I witnessed it performed it is a definitely crowd pleaser Second single The Maiden was released online recently also and it s also a bit of a monstrosity in a good way I could go on and describe them all but to be honest they all follow the same basic structure take the clean vocals from As I Lay Dying the screaming vocals from Lamb of God and to back that a musical composition comprising from the lick filled upbeat style of All That Remains crossed with the simplistic heavy edge from let s say Atreyu One would say that the fact you could easily pick separate aspects of bands to describe another that it would inevitably at some point rip them off here however this is not the case as the band use these distinctive points from various bands across the genre and combine them to produce the freshest of sounds in a what was thought to be dying genre Now they have a stellar album under their belts that sound

of extra notches sound wise and vocally the chants of Beer drinks and hell raisers is massive and so are the duel lead vocals from Heidi Shepherd and Carla Harvey as they battle it out with each other There re Coming To take Me Away is a cover of a song which was originally released in 1966 and somehow reached number 4 in the UK singles chart and I have to say I have never heard of the song before so checked it out on You Tube before listening to the butcher Babies version and I feel that everyone should go and check it out as it oddly sounds like something that Fat Les would do and happens to be the weirdest song ever however the Butcher Babies have totally reworked the song and made it their own and totally full of metal madness and heavy epicness Over the years I have heard various different bands cover songs from the Suicidal Tendencies back catalogue and it s a pleasure to hear the Butcher Babies cover their song Don t Give A Fuck the is so close to the original but more raw more heavy and full of attitude The next cover is a cover of the classic Osmonds song Crazy Horses and the original song on its own is epic and a song that pretty much everyone who has heard it loves and loves to sing a long to and I would imagine that fans of the original would show major disproval of this cover if they heard the song but let s face how many proper hardcore fans of the original are going to be searching for music by the Butcher Babies and if they do find it they will be treated to a pleasantly heavy cover with some
