    s the white one with little dots of green 3 A piece of 2oz wadding 19cm x 19cm We didn t have wadding so used a piece of fleece from the bottom of the fabric box 4 For the patchwork pieces a maximum of 15cm square of each fabric If preferred every patch can be a different colour 5 Appliglues 30ml Clear No 6 and 30mls of a colour to match your fabric 6 Two 1cm squares of velcro to keep the case closed For ours nothing was used from preference method S ecure the 22cm square of fabric to a piece of stiff board with masking tape Print out the pattern Cut the paper pattern along the lines into individual pieces and pin these onto the right side of the patterned fabrics Carefully cut out the fabric pieces Replace in position to see whether you re happy with the way it looks If you haven t ironed the fabric pieces iron them now Remove one piece Scratch a thin line of the clear glue along the outside edge on the underneath of each piece Replace Continue with the next piece until all have been glued Position the patchwork pieces on to the centre of the 22cm square without letting them overlap so that you have a 2cm border of the base all round Starting from the top glue each piece in place Choose the colour which will give the threadlike finish to the edges of the fabric pieces Starting from the top apply the coloured Appliglue around all the exposed edges of the patchwork design Leave your project to dry for 4 6 hours Turn over Place the 19cm square of wadding in the centre and turn a 1 5 cm hem all round Mitre the corners Sratch a

    star cushion ohio star cushion cover you will need 1 A piece of plain fabric 43 x 106cm 2 Four pieces of patterned fabric Fabric D one 11cm x 11cm square dark Fabric E one 11cm x 11cm square light Fabric F one 11cm x 11cm square light Fabric G one 8cm x 8cm square light 35 cm square cushion inner making up the pieces 1 Cut the plain fabric into three pieces A 43x43cm B 43x33cm C 43x30cm 2 Cut square E diagonally in half and in half again to make 4 triangles fig i 3 Cut square F diagonally in half and half again to make another four triangles 4 Find the centre of the cushion cover by folding Fabric A in half and half again figs ii iii 5 Like A fold square D in half and half again 6 Centre piece D on the crease lines of Fabric A fig iv and iron out the creases without moving 7 Carefully secure Fabric A square to your board with masking tape 8 Place the remaining triangles of fabric in position fig v The pieces should meet without any overlapping 9 Starting from the top using the double glue technique glue the patchwork pieces in place by scratching a thin line of the clear glue along the underneath of each piece 10 Place square G diagonally on square D fig vi and glue the underneath edge to secure the two 11 When all the pieces are in position apply the coloured appliglue around all the exposed edges starting from the top and working in straight lines rather than completing one triangle at a time 12 Leave overnight to dry before making up the cushion making up the cushion 1 Turn a 1 to 1 5cm hem along one

    preparation 1 Cut the calico into 3 pieces A 43 x 43cm B 43 x 33 cm C 43 x 30cm 2 Cut out template A and transfer it on to card template plastic 3 Cut out template B and transfer it as above 4 Transfer them onto the card template plastic 5 On the wrong side of the fabric draw around the template accurately with a sharp pencil 6 Cut out No seam allowances necessary 7 Measure and cut out the strips 30 x 3cm assembly 1 Fold calico piece A in half and half again to locate central point 2 Fold fabric piece A in half and half again as for calico fig a 3 Following fig b place the fabric square in the centre of the calico 4 Measure and cut out the strips 30 x 3cm 5 Place in position 4 5cm from the edge of template A fig c 6 Withold fabric piece B heart 7 Ensure there are no creases Iron if necessary 8 The pieces should meet with no overlap 9 Place calico piece A on cardboard and peg at the top to secure method 1 Working from left to right remove a pattern piece and turn it over 2 Using appliglue no 6 clear scratch a thin line around the under edge Place it back into position fig d 3 Repeat on each piece until the design is completed 4 Place the heart at the centre of the square and glue as above 5 Study fig e and proceed to glue using no 23 oyster as follows using the nozzle in the downwaqrd movement half on the motif and half on the base fabric like straight machine stitching work in straight lines from the top of the design downwards 6 Repeat until

    need 1 A template of a watering can and tulips see below 2 Fabric for the appliqué 3 Appliglues no 6 and colours to match your fabrics 4 A cotton based t shirt 5 A piece of cardboard covered with plastic method 1 Cut out the tulips and watering can patterns and pin the shapes onto your chosen fabric 2 Slip a plastic covered piece of cardboard inside the t shirt 3 Secure the t shirt to the cardboard with pegs 4 Position the tulips and watering can in place 5 Starting from the top remove the watering can and scratch a thin line of the clear glue a long the inside edge on the wrong side 6 Replace into position 7 Appliglue the remaining tulips in place 8 Starting from the top of the design apply the coloured appliglue finely around all the edges of each piece If right handed work from the left of the picture to the right 9 Leave your project to dry for at least 4 6 hours hints and tips When washing turn the t shirt inside out and wash on a short gentle wash If necessary Iron on the reverse side After placing
