you to split the group in half and deliver the classroom and outdoor sessions simultaneously before switching the groups over at half time The programme is designed to be flexible so that the delivery model can be adapted to your school s timetable It is entirely your decision as to how many hours per week you spend delivering sessions and you are free to pick and choose from the resources working through them at your pupils pace However the key element to all Arsenal Double Club modules is the football coaching ensuring that the pupils receive an inspirational and motivational double experience engaging them both in the classroom and on the football pitch All Arsenal Double Club sessions are intended to supplement the National Curriculum rather than replace it Therefore we strongly advise a low pupil to teacher helper ratio In terms of numbers a minimum group size of 8 10 pupils is ideally needed to run a Double Club session effectively We also suggest a maximum of 30 pupils though split into two groups of 15 where possible To help with the delivery of Double Club sessions and provide authentic language input volunteers including other teachers teaching assistants FLAs Language Leaders Year 10 13 language pupils university students or language speakers based at local businesses can all provide invaluable support Coaching Coaching sessions can be delivered by any member of staff who is willing and able to lead PE activities The Double Club Languages resources include an activity packed coaching guide with step by step instructions diagrams and all vocabulary in the target language needed to run the activities accompanied by audio recordings to act as a pronunciation support As with the classroom sessions teachers volunteers and older students who have reasonable proficiency in the target language can accompany
