    enterprising ideas that have come out of the consultation project Big thanks to all our supporters and volunteers who have helped Art4Space in 2012 13 Thanks Paul Hague Centre Manager Report 2013 14 Art4Space Community Arts Centre in the past year Art4Space have undergone a lengthy negotiation process to secure our premises on the Annie McCall site The site was sold to Henley Homes and will be re developed over the next year Art4Space will remain operating throughout and will move into our new purpose built premises hopefully by May next year Volunteer Programme is now called Creative Remedies which runs every Tuesday between 12pm and 5pm this is an open access service for volunteers and Art4Space service users It is an opportunity build skills in mosaic and ceramic work and become part of the Art4Space community Training Courses Building on the success of the Employability and Community Art course we have developed two further complimentary courses making up the Social Action Programme which aims to support marginalised individuals back into their community and into work Unfortunately due to the unpredictability of our premises this year The Walcot Foundation were unable to refund our training programme we have identified alternative funders and are working hard to get the SAP programme up and running Fundraising Events In November 2012 a group of 11 Art4Space staff and supporter did the London to Brighton bike ride to raise funds to make a testimonial film of the business as a promotional tool It was an amazing day and due to the generosity of friends and families we raised over 800 Staff The two directors run the day to day business activities This year we have had two work placements and have bought in sessional workers when needed It is part of our planning to bring in a more permanent staff member for 2014 Financial Overview Art4Space were successful in securing funding work on the Art4Space business plan and develop alternative income streams these will be developed over the coming year We delivered two School projects five community projects We secured funding to deliver a wellbeing project for Lambeth Community Fund Looking Ahead 2013 14 is going to be a year of big change and by the time of writing the next annual report I hope we will be settled into our new premises Now we have secured our premises we have been invited by The Walcot Foundation to apply for funding to run is looking great winning the Lambeth business awards has given the two partners a real boost and the press surrounding the awards has already bought new opportunities We have two new volunteer placements starting next week and we are busy now until the end of summer Once again a BIG thank you to all our supporter and volunteers Thanks Elinor Seath Director Art4Space Annual Report 2011 2012 Chairman s Report 2011 12 2011 has been an exceptional year for Art4Space On top of running all their school and community projects they have held two fundraising events secured funding to run training courses and to top off a great year won best Creative and Cultural Business at the Lambeth business awards 2012 A BIG well done to you girls from the Board much deserved as I am fully aware of how hard you both work The year started busy with four school projects in Gipsy Hill Balham andQueensPark All the projects ran smoothly with great feedback from the children and teachers St Luke s School in Queens Park loved the mural so much they have asked Art4Space back in to create a mural for their other playground The summer months were filled with installing the school project inQueensParkand running summer art workshops for local children and families In September and October Art4Space worked with the homeless charity Centrepoint to create a mosaic for their premises and with a local housing group to create a mosaic for their estate In October Art4Space hosted an event Creative ways to well being and Happiness speakers were invited from the local Buddhist Centre Action for Happiness and Cooltan Arts to discuss what well being meant and the role the arts can play in improving happiness and well being November saw the Clipathon event where the Art4Space team mosaiced through the night to raise funds for new equipment for the Centre the night was a huge success and Art4Space now have an overhead projector and laptop to aid their training courses 2012 is looking prosperous for Art4Space building on the success of winning the award the two partners are busy working on projects and developing new business opportunities Big thanks to all our supporters and volunteers who have helped Art4Space in 2011 12 Thanks Paul Hague Centre Manager Report 2011 12 Art4Space Community Arts Centre we are now settled in the Centre Tuesdays we run a volunteer day for learners on our training course in the evening I teach a mosaic class Wednesdays we run the training course in Employability and Community Arts Thursday is a studio day with Nicole Hughes who is completing a volunteer placement with us for 9 months Mondays and Fridays the partners are either at home in their offices or at the studio working on designs for projects or working on mosaics We now have a computer and overhead projector at the studio thanks to our supporters who donated money for our Clipathon fundraising event Volunteer Programme unfortunately Art4Space have had to close their open volunteer days on a Tuesday however we are applying for funding to see if we can re start them again Training Courses Art4Space received funding from the Walcot Foundation a funding body that supports Lambeth residents to run 4 training courses in Employability and Community Art The funding has enabled Art4Space to grow as a business and offer a new service The first course is now completed and the second on is underway we are hoping that The Walcot Foundation will continue to support this service in

    and very interesting expertise that the teenagers would not normally have in their lives Andrew Brown Stewarts Road Adventure Playground Stockwell May 2013 Over the past 9 years I have worked in the community with Adults and children through my housing Association and Larkhall Primary School and projects through Well London During 2011 I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer and had to stop volunteering I am now in remission and wanted to get back into teaching jewellery making and other Crafts All along I ve wanted to have something to say other than a reference or recommendation that I have a skill at training others in arts in the Community and this course answered those prays I know feel confident to pursue a career in community arts thanks to Art4Space and this course Employability in community Arts Deborah Joy service user February 2013 During my three month placement at Art4Space I was totally immersed in the weekly goings on of this leading community arts organization Jewels and Eli not only welcomed me with open arms as a member of the team but carefully mentored my progress offering invaluable guidance so as to fully enrich my learning I was exposed the full range of services Art4Space provide from planning commissions to focused mosaic and mural work assisting on outreach and on corporate business days to kiln hire community courses art club festival work and even sourcing scaffolding there ain t nothing these women can t do The most staggering part of the whole experience for me was what a difference Art4Space make to their local community and far reaching still They unite local people in inspiring and quite brilliant art work to promote social cohesion and a sense of ownership within our communities Housing estates schools parks underground stations and fronts of buildings are transformed beyond recognition The collaborative nature of a lot of their work involves meticulous planning and execution but the focus is always on contributing something exciting engaging and lasting to the world we live in Their notable reputation precedes them with friends and artists alike dropping in for a cup of tea or to help out on a new commission not to mention the stack of awards and write ups that are quietly pinned up around the studio The like minded friends I met as a result of working for the organization have opened up new opportunities for me for which I am so very grateful Verity Kennard 3 month volunteer placement 2012 I have been unemployed for several years I have very little qualifications and have a low esteem of myself I found that coming to Art4Space and learning about different ways of applying art and teaching it was very encouraging I discovered about teaching techniques and helping with after school club has proved valuable I found that Julie and Eli s approach was steady concise and very inspiring Things like employability and preparation for job interviews also make me feel more relaxed about future job
