  • The Arthur Medical Centre - Doctors surgery opening times and what to do when we are closed
    phone lines are not open on a Saturday morning and all incoming calls are diverted to the out of hours service Closures for Training On some Wednesday afternoons the practice will be closed for training Please click on the tab above for more details Bank Holidays The practice will be closed for the Easter Bank Holidays on the 25th and 28th March Otherwise opening times near those dates will be as normal Dispensary Hours The dispensary normally opens as follows Monday 8 30am 1 00pm 2 00pm 6 30pm Tuesday 8 30am 1 00pm 2 00pm 6 30pm Wednesday 8 30am 1 00pm 2 00pm 6 30pm Thursday 8 30am 1 00pm 2 00pm 6 30pm Friday 8 30am 1 00pm 2 00pm 6 30pm Saturday 8 30am 12 30pm closed Bank Holidays The dispensary will be closed for the Easter Bank Holidays on the 25th and 28th March Otherwise opening times near those dates will be as normal Appointment Times Normal hours for Doctor and Nurse appointments are as follows Weekday Mornings Monday to Friday 8 30 am 1 00 pm Weekday Evenings Monday to Friday 3 10 pm 6 10 pm The times for various other sessions e g chiropody counselling health visitor etc may vary from the above and details can be obtained from reception doors and phone lines are open from 8 00 am to 6 30 pm Monday to Friday Saturdays The Practice holds a single GP Surgery on Saturdays from 8 00 to 12 00 This session is exclusively for pre booked appointments with a doctor and normally no other appointments or clinics are operated at this time Walk in appointments cannot be handled on Saturdays but walk in centres do operate in Ilkeston Derby Nottingham and Stapleford The Practice phone lines are not

    All of the doctors provide general medical services health promotion contraception maternity care child health care checks and minor surgery Additional services offered are Counselling Chiropody Well Person Health Checks Chronic Illness Clinics Teenage Clinic Child Immunisation Clinic Child Health Programme and Post Natal Checks Health Visitor Clinic Ante Natal Clinic Preparation for Parenthood Citizens Advice Bureau Please ask the receptionist for details of these services and more Travel Vaccinations If you require any vaccinations relating to foreign travel you need to make an appointment with the practice nurse to discuss your travel arrangements This will include which countries and areas within countries that you are visiting to determine what vaccinations are required There is further information about countries and vaccinations required on the links below Europe Russia North America Central America South America Caribbean Africa Middle East Central Asia East Asia Australasia and Pacific It is important to make this initial appointment as early as possible at least 6 weeks before you travel as a second appointment will be required with the practice nurse to actually receive the vaccinations These vaccines have to be ordered as they are not a stock vaccine Your second appointment needs to be at least 2 weeks before you travel to allow the vaccines to work Some travel vaccines are ordered on a private prescription and these incur a charge over and above the normal prescription charge This is because not all travel vaccinations are included in the services provided by the NHS Travel Health Questionnaire To help us offer the appropriate advice please fill out the online form before coming to see the nurse Travel Questionnaire Travelling in Europe If you are travelling to Europe a very useful booklet has been published with advice and guidance to help you get the most out
