    New RAF Riccall Yorkshire An early WW2 bomber station used through out its life a a training station with 1658 Heavy Conversion Unit I have split Riccall into three sites Airfield Site Domestic Site Operations Block Operations block site is started but not finished as I need to sort out a plan So far about 138 pages long 08 April 2010 Updated RAF Shrewton RLG Wiltshire I now have the site plan which shows the dispersed camp to the north and the sites of the three Blister hangars I have added plans and more details 06 April 2010 New after another Easter in Yorkshire I managed to visit two aerodromes RAF Church Fenton Riccall First I have placed RAF Church Fenton a purpose built fighter base built in the 1930 s expansion plan 24 March 2010 Due to the back office update I have completely re done RAF Southrop and RAF Southrop Dispersed accommodation site 24 March 2010 I have been doing a massive back office update and adjustment to the website bringing the back office files to match the contents file Several of these files I have updated added small maps to show where items can be found 09 March 2010 Updated Wn454 La Vacquerie Cherbourg Inland France One of the outer ring of the Cherbourg defences a small Wn with 1 H622 twin group bunker 1 H630 machine gun emplacement with an armoured plate 1 H629 anti tank gun bunker A nice mix of types There should also be a look at the remains of WW2 airfields in Egypt on Google Earth Knowing they were being built at the same time as airfields here in Britain and wondering if there was any similarity I have found many They like here have been remodeled by later use Some remains can still be seen from the air and identified Several postwar conflicts between Egypt its neighbours have meant that lots survived but the latest round has been the replacement of Russian fighters for a new breed of US fighters and they seem to have needed new airfields I see one wartime field has been completely obliterated to
