proper compression tester i have had a vw caddy with similar faults which later was disclosed to have run through a large puddle on stripdown a slightly bent conrod was found to be the trouble during the evaluation of this van ibought a compression tester for diesels and it led us straight to the problem not saying that it is your fault but dont overlook it i have not had issues personaly with the cam lobes but i reckon it would be a good second check if moving the injectors is not moving the fault and scoping duration seems pretty even across the board then i would figure that the fault is mechanical fuel would affect all cyls and not narrow the code to one cyl same i would think with oil contamination so to sum up i think you have a mechanical problem start with an accurate compression test hth david March 3 2011 at 10 12 pm in reply to mitsubishi pinnon petrol no power 13530 david cant Participant thanks for replies guys yes this is a gdi petrol 2002 auto david February 18 2011 at 7 24 pm in reply to Pattern Parts 13405 david cant Participant hi it cant have failed david its got a tested sticker on it it must be the way youve fitted it thats the problem only kidding but thats what some suppliers would imply to us its not just the pump failure that is a pain in the neck its the damage that follows bent valves ect and who bears the cost i have been in this situation before and vowed not to go there again now the only way i will fit crap parts is if the owner supplies so i am covered if it fails and i also record on the invoice that the genuine part was offered but declined this goes for second hand engines gearboxes also the biggest culprit up here for duff straight out the box junk is euro car parts i will now no longer fit any parts supplied by them having had several dissapointments with their parts including a lower ball joint shank pin which sheared in two on my sons bmw 316 at low speed just turning out of a car park i just cant take the risk anymore not only is it costly and unsafe but you also have a claim society out there waiting to hang you to see how much money they can get out of the situation i hope you get clear of this job without too much grief david and learn the lesson that it delivers dont know if the law stands different between scotland and england but if we do not supply the part and the owner does then its the owners problem providing its been fitted correctly david ps maybe your pump was tested by stevie wonder February 18 2011 at 7 24 pm in reply to Pattern Parts 13305 david cant Participant hi it cant

cant Participant ok vw golf is now fixed after a last try with automatec they sent back another ecu with my immo chip and it was ok the thing worth a mention here is that although the car was perfect with starting and running the mil light was on a fault code was stored for engine speed signal circuit implausable which seems strange as it was the fault code that the old one contained when i sent it down different ecu i think not however it is running ok with the code cleared except the mil came back on at the end of the day with fault for lambda heater bank one sensor one it may be the sensor dont know yet its one for tommorrow keep you posted david fixed February 5 2011 at 7 00 pm in reply to Asnu Injector Bench 13180 david cant Participant hi how old is the asnu bench and do you have a rough figure on the value thanks david February 5 2011 at 6 56 pm in reply to durabook laptop 12408 david cant Participant hi update on this post after months of waiting decided to contact maverick to ask if they had any progress they have never contacted me and was told to send it down as a new laptop would be issued with the harddrive changed over so just watch out they may not contact you and think you are quite happy with just the mouse the durabook is expensive so you should get what you paid for but you may need to push it a little i think you would call this damage limitation on behalf of durabook maverick hth david February 5 2011 at 6 45 pm in reply to Hanatech Multiscan YES KEY Software 12756 david cant Participant hello i have considered this tool for some time now as i had a shot of one on a course i was on i thought it was very similar to the technotest reflex how do you guys that own it find the coverage programming on this tool david February 4 2011 at 8 30 pm in reply to BMW Brake Judder 13176 david cant Participant hi dennis this story is ringing alarm bells with me i had an almost carbon copy situation with a jeep cherokee i found the answer in the end and it was the brake pedal return spring weak a certain amount of bind ocurred after the car had travelled more than thirty miles causing heat which in turn caused warping when ever we checked the jeep we could not find any problem but due to expansion warm calipers fluid ect the problem would arise we were able to fit an extra spring on the pedal on this car and all has been ok therafter its worth noting that the brake switch did not activate on this vehicle either as the pedal still had to be further down again for it to operate and that lazy

stuff like grey imports ect a nissan el grande diesel belonging to a friend it went in through general nissan took a few mins as it scanned for the system but none the less it got there and had live data also the data was accurate and we effected a successful fix i also have to add that is by no means a slouch on european vehicles either just to add some help to anyone who wants to print from a vg carman the printer in the handbook is not even available on ebay the one that plugs and plays is hp deskjet 1220c on thing though i do not like the latest software download as it is now storing some of the makes on the hardrive and allowing you 4 modules on the right hand side of the ready to work screen if what you want to work on aint there then you have to erase one of the modules and then transfer from the hardrive what you need it can take several mins and be frustrating but i guess it is still able to do it i would like to point out also that the vg the 4 channel scope is very user friendly also hth david November 19 2010 at 6 34 pm in reply to Toyota fault code 73 12333 david cant Participant hi charlie in responce to your query about carmen on imports i have carmen scan vg but it is the same diagnostic software as the light version on any imports i have had to plug into it has performed one i can remember was a nissan el grande which belonged to my mate it did not have the el grande on the opening menu but it has general nissan so i went through that and after a few mins i had not only the fault code but live data also hth david November 19 2010 at 6 10 pm in reply to honda 2 2 vtech limited throttle operation 12393 david cant Participant more info collected it was manual transmission and yes sean it had traction control will ring you thurs sean regarding harrowgate arrangements david November 18 2010 at 10 10 pm in reply to honda 2 2 vtech limited throttle operation 12391 david cant Participant thanks for replying lee i dont know if it was auto or manual i will ask friday and post but i think you are on the right track it would then seem that it was confused as to whether it was in motion or not not sure where the vss is on that model but the drive would pass to the easiest wheel to rotate operating the wheel speed sensor and if the vss operates from the other then they would conflict and the brain may go to limited stategy sounds like the answer lee thanks david November 11 2010 at 7 47 pm in reply to Dec scan tool Landrover 12278 david cant Participant hi
