    can drop in or pay for a series of four workshops at a discounted price of 25 Photos from the November Crochet workshops Primitive Pottery with Sonia Adams and Carol Mowl This workshop is organised over two days We shall spend the first pottery day making pots from terracotta clay You will be shown how to make a coil pot and a pinch pot You may choose to make other things with the clay too These pots and items will then be left to dry On the second day carefully preparing and placing the pots in the fire They need to be heated gently at first and then we shall build up the heat We shall see how they are hardened by the fire Sunday 15th March and Saturday 25th April 54 for the two days Primitive Pottery Workshop I am looking forward to collecting the hard crust from cow pats This is needed to wrap around the pots to protect them from the fierce heat of the fire I remember in my childhood wandering through fields of cows and seeing the most amazing jewels on cow pats As I looked closer they flew away and I suddenly realised they were blue bottle flies with their glistening peacock colours shining brightly in the sunshine I was so delighted that not only were there jewels on cow pats but these jewels flew as well Carol Willow Basketry with Juliette Hamilton Look at these bountiful beautiful willow baskets made in the studio in October There will be more willow weaving with Juliette Hamilton in 2015 including a Dragonfly on Saturday 7th February and a Stags Head on Saturday 9th May Willow Basketry Workshops Photos from the October Willow Basket Making Workshop Weaving Workshops We have organised lots of different weaving workshops for you in 2015 For example Inkle loom Tapestry Weaving Tablet Braiding and of course our ongoing Wednesday Weaving workshops Weaving Workshops Photos from the October weaving workshops Cobweb Scarf Workshop with Carol Mowl Lots of felt making workshops organised for 2015 Get yourself booked in early and don t forget to get your friends vouchers so they can choose for themselves from the extensive range of workshops The next Cobweb scarf workshop is on Sunday 1st March 10am 1pm 32 Cobweb Workshop Photos from the Cobweb Scarf workshop in October Yurt Making Update I am happy to announce that we have got the ball rolling on the yurt building project The first meeting went well we listened in turn to everyone s ideas and there was lots of enthusiasm and excitement at with the possibilities However it s a bit of a mystery how it will actually progress Beautiful Caring Harmonious Sing with our hearts Heart intelligence driving this forward and our minds at our hearts service Kais Nightingale from Findhorn We plan to meet up about 6 times in 2015 Saturday 29th November We will go out to forage for suitable long willow or hazel poles for the yurt

    paving stones Garden Mosaic Workshop Photos and feedback from the April Mosaic workshop Thanks it was a most enjoyable weekend Lyn Crochet with Charly Lamb We have organised more Crochet with Charly in May so pop along for a great time chatting and creating granny squares and wee animals Lovely to see all the crochet produced last month with new folk enjoying getting the hang of crocheting A new series of three workshops are starting on Friday 9th May 7 9pm 45 Crochet Workshop Photos and from the April Crochet classes Machine Embroidered Bowl with Carol Mowl These delicate bowls are fascinating to make They develop from a layered mixture of bits and pieces of threads and fabrics into sculptured containers The process invlolves using vanishing water soluable fabric and free style machine embroidery Kirsty Allsop called this method the opium for textile artists We are making more bowls on Saturday 12th July 10am 3pm 36 Machine Embroidered Bowl Don t forget the delicious home made cakes It was lovely to meet you for my sewing lesson I would like to say how much I enjoyed it and time just ran away too quickly It has given me some confidence to try some more flower embroidery Christine Felt Flower Brooch with Carol Mowl What a pefect time of year to make flowers just when they are all coming into bloom and there seems to be an explosion of colour A gorgeous boquet of flowers was produced on the workshop and Joan felt inspired to make more The date for the next workshop is to be arranged Photos from the April Felt Flower Brooch workshop Seamless Felt Purse with Carol Mowl What a lovely day full of chat and crafting delights I was asked to help put in straps into the

    it is open to the public and well worth a visit The museum has two great wheels one too fragile to be used and the other is a beautiful well crafted recontruction Once we got used to spinning on the the great wheel we all enjoyed the difference from a seated spinning wheel in the way it feels like you are dancing The great wheel is also known as a walking wheel or dancing wheel Gwyn is intending to give great wheel spinning demonstrations on the Hall open days Photos from Ford Green Hall Rag Rugging with Carol Mowl We had a lot of fun choosing colours and textured fabrics for our shaggy rug samples Students quickly mastered the techniques of proddy and hooky and went on to start a project of their own Photos and feedback from the January Rag Rugging workshop I enjoyed having access to so many wonderful fabrics and getting ideas from you the fabrics books and from each other Other people were using colour combinations I wouldn t have thought of Margaret I enjoyed the workshop and have found a little time to continue my project this week Hope to join you on another workshop soon Angie If you fancy more raggetty adventures come along and make a Coiled Basket or mat with Dee Sayce on Sunday 23rd February 10am 1pm 30 Coiled Basketry Workshop Needle Felted Cats and Dogs with Carol Mowl Whilst it was raining cats and dogs outside we were cosy and warm in the studio busy making mini models of our pets The animals developed their own characters and by the end of the workshop we had Molly the Labrador extremely gorgeous a wonderful Spotty Dalmatian a Cute Kitten playful Spot the Dog and a full of personality Skinny Cat Photos from the January Needle felting Workshop Wow look at these Lovely Needle Felted cats and dogs they are adorable xxx Britain is Crafty The little dog my Mum made on this needle felt animal course is adorable almost as cute as the real thing Amy We are making needle felted sheep on Sunday 2nd March 10am 2pm 32 Needle Felt Sheep Workshop Introduction to Felt Making with Carol Mowl It is always a pleasure to introduce the wonderful method of making a fabric from sheep fleece It was great to witness the transformation of ideas into felt pictures The next Introduction to Felt Workshop workshop is on Saturday 15th March 10am 1pm 28 Photos and feedback from the January Felt Making workshop Thanks very much for today I really enjoyed it I hope to see you again probably next month Judy Rachel really enjoyed the course and is full of enthusiasm to start a new project Lynn Willow Basket Workshop with Juliette Hamilton Saturday was spent weaving willow baskets in the cosy studio with wonderful folk We have a great new willow weaving workshop organised for the summer Photos from the January Willow Basket workshop Made a willow basket today
