  • UEFA to release 1,000 tickets for Northern Ireland v Poland after fans' outcry at Euro 2016 allocation - BelfastTelegraph.co.uk
relating to tickets which have been allocated that maybe should not have been allocated I have told them that supporters of many years standing have not received tickets for the Poland game and I have told Uefa they need to resolve this issue It is a major issue and it needs to be resolved straight away and have as positive an outcome as possible Informed that it was unlikely in the extreme that anyone would give up their tickets the point was made to Nelson that surely Uefa would have to find more tickets for Northern Ireland supporters in order for the controversy to reach a satisfactory conclusion Originally 6 000 tickets had been allocated to Northern Ireland fans before that figure was increased to 6 816 Nelson said We don t know if Uefa can get extra tickets for Northern Ireland fans at this stage What we have told them is that we want the issue resolved for our fans as quickly as possible I agree it would be very difficult to take a ticket away from someone who has been given it Asked how the priority system could go so wrong Nelson replied We worked for three months on the priority scheme with Uefa to get this right We even employed extra people to set the system up The priority system was supposed to reward our most loyal supporters We did some checks of the data ourselves and we were confident that the right people would get the tickets The early indications would suggest that the system has not been applied properly I know there are lots of incredibly disappointed people out there We have had many calls already and I want them to know we are doing all we can to resolve the issue Follow BelTel Sport Related Content Northern Ireland fans furious over Euro 2016 ticket allocation Some Northern Ireland fans get Euro ticket joy as others wait How to Complain If you have a complaint about the editorial content of the Belfast Telegraph or Sunday Life then contact the Editor here If you are not satisfied with the response provided then you can contact the Independent Press Standards Organisation here From the web Sponsored Videos Your Comments COMMENT RULES Comments that are judged to be defamatory abusive or in bad taste are not acceptable and contributors who consistently fall below certain criteria will be permanently blacklisted The moderator will not enter into debate with individual contributors and the moderator s decision is final It is Belfast Telegraph policy to close comments on court cases tribunals and active legal investigations We may also close comments on articles which are being targeted for abuse Problems with commenting customercare belfasttelegraph co uk Powered by Livefyre Please enable JavaScript to view the comments powered by Livefyre Read More Northern Ireland fan in Euro 2016 ticket ad ends up with none By Nevin Farrell A Northern Ireland fan whose photograph was used in a campaign urging people to go to

  • Northern Ireland fans furious over Euro 2016 ticket allocation 'shambles' - BelfastTelegraph.co.uk
UEFA on 29th January It was our understanding that the priority list would be the basis for all ticket applications for Northern Ireland s group games at EURO 2016 We are currently asking UEFA how the list was applied particularly in relation to the game against Poland in Nice Northern Ireland s Euro 2016 campaign will see fans embark on a trek of more than 600 miles through France spanning nine days It begins in Nice second only to Paris in popularity among tourists Then it s a 300 mile journey north to Lyon before the group stage concludes at the Parc des Princes in the French capital Faith Seaton said she had attended all the qualifying games with nephew Reece who uses a wheelchair and had requested tickets for the Poland game I am dreading having to explain to the child he won t be at the game in Nice although we have travel booked she said Peter Campbell has attended games for 20 years has been a season ticket holder for 16 and has flights booked to Nice with the same four friends who he has sat with in the Kop stand for the past 16 years and all of them were unsuccessful in getting tickets I have been with the team through thick and thin he said If the fans who got tickets had more UEFA ticket points than me I would not be aggrieved But that doesn t appear to be the case Brian Foy has been a supporter for over 40 years and attended all the qualifying campaign s home games and three away games He has booked and paid for travel and accommodation to France and secured tickets for the Ukraine game only despite hoping for tickets to all three fixtures I feel very disappointed and aggrieved to say the very least he said Follow BelTel Sport Related Content Northern Ireland fans get bittersweet news over Euro 2016 tickets Northern Ireland to face Slovakia in final Euro 2016 warm up game How to Complain If you have a complaint about the editorial content of the Belfast Telegraph or Sunday Life then contact the Editor here If you are not satisfied with the response provided then you can contact the Independent Press Standards Organisation here From the web Sponsored Videos Your Comments COMMENT RULES Comments that are judged to be defamatory abusive or in bad taste are not acceptable and contributors who consistently fall below certain criteria will be permanently blacklisted The moderator will not enter into debate with individual contributors and the moderator s decision is final It is Belfast Telegraph policy to close comments on court cases tribunals and active legal investigations We may also close comments on articles which are being targeted for abuse Problems with commenting customercare belfasttelegraph co uk Powered by Livefyre Please enable JavaScript to view the comments powered by Livefyre Read More Northern Ireland fan in Euro 2016 ticket ad ends up with none By Nevin Farrell A
