the Army Junior School of Music in Pirbright He then studied at the Royal Military School of Music in Twickenham Once he had completed his studies he went to play with various Army bands travelling extensively throughout America Canada and Europe Marcus also found time for various other duties including library assistant instrument repairer and IT After a while however frustration set in as Marcus didn t feel there were enough promotional opportunities As a result I stopped enjoying my job and so I decided to make a change in my career After a lot of research and despite his musical background Marcus decided on the Telecom market Life as a professional musician can be poorly paid and I d always enjoyed the technical side of my job I also came to the conclusion that the Telecom market would offer me the opportunity to get involved with an exciting and relatively new industry that is really taking off Marcus understood that choosing the right training company was crucial so he attended a number of seminars and read up on all the different training providers CTTS came out well ahead of the rest as well as offering more qualifications than anyone else the company s founder Martyn Cook having been in the forces himself seemed to really talk my language and understood my situation Marcus opted for the full course including Data Comms Looking back on the course it was very in depth and it sometimes felt that you were being taught things you didn t really need to know However after completing the course this knowledge paid off dividends giving me a real edge over my work colleagues Marcus is now employed by Telewest Communications where he originally enjoyed a two week work placement as part of the CTTS package
