    straps Gears Sturmey Archer FM fitted with 20T sprocket giving 41 5 53 3 62 1 and 69 8 gears Brakes Strata Stem Bars 4 Titan with Reynolds Pellisier bars Saddle Brookes B17 Swallow fitted with a Vittoria tub carrier Extra details I bought this frame off eBay and the seller advertised this frame as a Criterium model but the Criterium has a 1 1 8 top tube this frame hasn t Mervyn Cook the previous Marque M E and I scoured the 1940 s brochure and in the 1949 copy it described the Super Course as having distinctive contrast colour peak panelling to head and seat tubes and hand lining throughout So we decided that it was probably a Super Course Some two or three months later I decided it was time to build the frame up and as I took it off the wall a piece of paper fell out of the seat tube and fluttered to the ground it was very greasy and very stained but lo and behold it was the workshop job sheet It was made out to a Mr Bradbury to be painted blue flam and Super Course finish Bingo Mr Bradbury paid 11

    enamel Oversized top tube Wheels 27 Constrictor Asp rims Rear Bayliss Wiley large flange unit gear hub Front Harden large flange Chainset Gnutti Double Pedals Holdsworth Allez alloy Gears Osgear original 5 Speed Front Simplex Competition rod changer 1st year they were produced Brakes C L B Stem Bars Holdsworth fancy lugged stem South of France bars Saddle Brooks B17 Champion Narrow Extra details Discovered in the garage of the original owner Dennis Harber from Swindon in exceptional original condition After Dennis died his son James passed the bike on The frame was purchased directly from Holdsworth and many of the components were bought at Kanes Cycle Shop in Fleet Street Swindon At the time Dennis was an apprentice at the Great Western Railway in Swindon and James remembers his dad talk about the huge effort it required to put together a bike of this calibre in post war Briton The frames finish is wonderful Oxford Blue and Chrome and all the original components are bedded in perfectly Shown below are a couple of photographs of Dennis with the Holdsworth In one he appears to be warming up for a race at an airfield whilst the other lets us glimpse
