    Programme Frequently asked questions Our supporters Links Events Photos News on TV Newsletters Kivu Visit 2012 Kivu Visit 2014 Contact Us Contact Details Who we are Donate Now Gift Aid Declaration Health Fund Programme How we help Health is an everyday preoccupation in the DRC and being able or not to get medical care is of vital importance to the villagers In 2012 Congo Action gave 850 to the three groups towards their health funds Group members also each pay a small contribution each month CongoAction believe it is important not to create a system that would encourage dependency So after discussion with our lead helper in the Congo Vital it was decided to invest the money into a mill for grinding flour The profit from the mill would be used to fund the health program I went to hospital 3 times due to severe malaria Without the health funds I would not have been able to be treated and would not be here now I had a serious accident whilst walking back from the market I had to go to hospital and thanks to the funds provided I was able to be treated straight away I was risking loosing

    questions Our supporters Links Events Photos News on TV Newsletters Kivu Visit 2012 Kivu Visit 2014 Contact Us Contact Details Who we are Donate Now Gift Aid Declaration Goat Project How we help The villages of Cidjo and Bunkivane each benefit from the Congo Action Goat initiative run in conjunction with the local vet who is very committed to the scheme The scheme expects commitment from from its participants Before receiving a goat each must have undergone a training programme run by the vet have built a small stable attached to his house and have access to foliage to feed the goat They must also make a small contribution to the scheme So far 13 stables have been built and more are in the pipeline One key factor to the success of this project is the provision of Congo Action money for vet fees and medicine Since having the goats my field has produced much better because of the manure generated by the goats We can feed ourselves so much better now My name is Jeanette I received one goat at the beginning I have so far managed to sell 3 of the off springs to pay for my children
