    Barry Eaton Read this booklet AND Dog Language by Roger Abrantes see further down on this page to get a more realistic idea of how dogs function What scares me are all these trainers you see a fair amount of them on TV who argue that the dogs that they work with are dominant and trying to take over leadership in their families but they don t seem to have the first knowledge about basic dog language All these dogs that they point out as dominant are all frustrated and fearful ears pinned back tails down and the corners of their mouth pulled far back There is nothing dominant about them PLEASE read this book and get your facts straight It is the most important piece of dog related litterature out there right now For more info about the author and the book go to www deaf dogs help co uk After You Get Your Puppy by Ian Dunbar The only puppy book in English that I can recommend I ve read a fair few and all the others mix in the odd bit of harsh treatment which is not necessary Dog Language by Roger Abrantes This is one of those books that every dog owners should have in their bookshelf as a reference book Danish ethologist Roger Abrantes goes through all aspects of dog language organised alphabetically from A Z The pictures in the book are beautiful and make it easy to relate the information to your own dog If you want to learn about dog language this is the book to get The Culture Clash by Jean Donaldson One of my all time favourite books It is a great reference book and I find myself going back to it again and again A book for all dog enthusiasts and for any one who wants to understand their dog Don t shoot the dog by Karen Pryor This is the book to have in your possession if you are a serious dog owner trainer Karen will even help you improve your tennis skills and teach you how to cut down on the children s bedtime with this wonderful book It is all about positive reinforcement for your dog AND for you Bones Would Rain from the Sky by Suzanne Clothier I went to see Suzanne Clothier speak at the Dog Trainer Conference in Bruges in 2004 and was very impressed with the simplicity of what she was saying Back to basics get to know your pets treat them with the respect they deserve Reading her book is a complete joy This book is a must read for any dog loving person and it is very educational too The Other End of The Leash by Patricia B McConnell PhD A new favourite book in my collection and I ve got a few The amount of times I ve shouted out exactly while reading this book I do not know but it has been plenty It is one of my top

    DogBasics Fun Day 2013 playing the Sharks game Galu Border Collie on Cart Gap beach a tired Barney Labrador X DogBasics Fun Day 2012 egg n spoon race Galu Border Collie and Woody Lab playing Terms and Conditions for DogBasics dog training course Payment Payment is due before the start of the first class Should you fail to have paid in advance or bring payment to the first class you will not be able to attend the class Refunds When you have paid the course fee you are accepting the times and dates of the course schedule You will have been given the dates and times beforehand Should you not be able to attend all the classes or should you chose to leave the course there will be no refunds In the unlikely event that the times or dates that have been advertised on the course schedule need to be changed due to unforeseen circumstances for example weather there will be new dates or times suggested to all the attendants of the course To avoid being locked in a stale mate the suggested times and dates that gets a majority vote by the attendants in the course will be chosen Should this mean that 1 or 2 attendants can t continue the course they will be offered a private training session or in some cases a refund of the sessions that they can t attend Missing a few classes Should you miss a couple of classes during a course there will be ample oportunity for you to catch up on the exercises in the following sessions or specially organised lessons Under special circumstances you might be offered a private training to be able to catch up with the rest of the group Talk to your dog trainer to find out

    food they used to use without the dogs putting on weight although I will confess that I ve never put any more thought into why that would be Too high energy tightness most family pets get more energy than they can spend and that leaves them stressed and frustrated Is likely to contain growth hormones I ve seen so many 3 month old bitch puppies with early seasons and problems in that area plus over sexual behaviour in male dogs This was around the time that the E food was at the top of the Swedish dog food market The E feed is tested but the Swedish laboratory could not prove that it contained growth hormones but they also say they can t find ca 40 of the known performance enhancing drugs used within different sports due to the lack of resources In the US it is accepted to feed chickens with growth hormone and then use the chickens for human food While I was on the war path against Eukanuba I read about a female doctor in a poor country can t remember which one now maybe Puerto Rico that started investigating why small girls of 3 4 years old got pubic hair and menstruated at such an early age in large quantities The common denominator proved to be that the poor population almost exclusively fed on leftovers from the nearby chicken factory Addictive It is known that food manufacturers used to use Belladonna in cat food to make the cats want this food and nothing else Personally I think they do the same thing with dog food A breeder that I know had two feeds that she would use for her dogs Eukanuba and Hills I had been trying to get her to stop using the E but
