    look out for on Exmoor 5 Top Picnic Spots 5 Sporting Suggestions 4 Unusual Exmoor animals 4 Exmoor beer gardens 4 key Somerset cricket players 4 Coastal days out 4 Exmoor Events for June July 6 History and Heritage days out around Exmoor 10 Facts on marshes Porlock Marsh Exmoor flag finalists vote for your favourite design Published by Duddings in Holiday cottages in Exmoor 5 9 2014 16 19 15 Tags Exmoor Holiday Cottages The shortlist has been announced on the story we covered in an earlier blog article on the Exmoor flag competition So the next time you visit Exmoor holiday cottages you could well be visiting a destination with its very own flag Judges have now shortlisted the final five designs from an impressive 260 entries submitted by members of the public but now the time has come to pick the winner before voting closes on September 10 The eventual winning flag will be declared in an unveiling ceremony on October 29 The winner can look forward to not only having the honour of their flag being registered as an official UK flag but will also receive the first ever copy of it which will be professionally hand made on Exmoor The Exmoor Flag Competition which launched earlier this year in June is financially supported by the Exmoor National Park Partnership Fund and the Exmoor Flag Project team There were all varieties of designs submitted from all over the world and one even came from as far away as Australia The age range of entrants was a varied as the designs themselves with people entering from the ages of two to 93 taking part If you would like to vote for your favourite fill in and submit the attached form or vote online at www exmoorflag co

    for on Exmoor 5 Top Picnic Spots 5 Sporting Suggestions 4 Unusual Exmoor animals 4 Exmoor beer gardens 4 key Somerset cricket players 4 Coastal days out 4 Exmoor Events for June July 6 History and Heritage days out around Exmoor 10 Facts on marshes Porlock Marsh Point to Point racing season finale on Saturday Published by Duddings in Holiday cottages in Exmoor 12 6 2014 10 37 37 Tags Point To Point Racing Final Meet This Weekend Dudding News The point to point horse racing season is in full swing but nearing its end here in Devon and Somerset and we ve seen some excellent racing near our Exmoor holiday cottages in the last few weeks Over three consecutive weekends we ve seen racing at Bratton Down on Exmoor and the last local meet takes place this Saturday There s racing at Umberleigh this Saturday June 14 and it promises to be a great day out with plenty of riders still in the hunt to take end of season honours on the Exmoor Devon and Somerset circuit One rider who isn t in the running though is reigning Devon and Cornwall champion jockey Josh Guerriero Josh will be handing over his title this year because a new job as an assistant trainer has seen him have fewer rides this season However he proved he hasn t lost the knack with three wins from three rides in the first three races at Bratton Down last weekend The popularity of the Exmoor meets was also proved on Saturday when the open race which often attracts a small field at this time of the season was well filled It was won by Join Together a former chaser who was once owned by National Hunt trainer Paul Nicholls who has trained more than
