  • Interests
of family life My Dad always had two with him and I had my first camera before I can really remember More recently I have acquired a digital camera and a Camcorder The digital still camera is definitely to be recommended but only works because the software for storing managing and printing the images is so good It is a Canon PowerShot S10 and whilst I can offer no comparisons I would recommend asking the camera shop to demonstrate any camera you might be considering from the taking of pictures through to the printing I am told Nikon digital cameras are also a good buy The digital video is also excellent and comparisons with the older technology i e televisions are considerably more favourable than for digital still cameras The resolution of stills is 1 2 or 3 Mega million pixels whereas the video is less than 180 thousand This is still better than the resolution of even the best of today s TV sets So the image when replayed at home is close to what the television company s call Broadcast quality In fact footage from these cameras is being used already in many broadcasts Whilst I have a PowerShot S2 my most used camera is a Canon Digital Ixus V3 The S2 is broadly the same spec as the Ixus but feels like a brick to hold and use Unfortunately for me Canon brought out their next gen model very soon after I bought the camera and the V3 had only been available for a couple of months The main difference in spec between the two Ixus models V3 vs 400 is the res 3 2 vs 4 and the video time limit 30 secs vs 3 mins They are near identical in most other respects I am
