    onto a coach arriving at a temple being rushed around before getting back on the coach and bussed to yet another venue Each day is filled with cultural visits to temples and shrines as you would expect but after many years of honing our tours we add in the true Japan Let s stop off at a small café for a coffee explore the backstreets of the five geisha districts or if the weathers great let s have a picnic by the river The itinerary is finalised a few weeks before travel and if something pops up like a special event or festival we can change our plans on the day Below is an example of one of our recent Cherry Blossom and Culture itineraries Day 1 Kyoto geisha walking tour Supper in Gion followed by a trip around the geisha districts Learn the history and dispel the myths Fingers crossed we spot some of the enigmatic geisha Day 2 Nara The highlight of the day is a visit to Todai ji temple with the largest wooden building in the world and home to the Great Buddha Relax and feed the deer before spending an afternoon at one of Nara s most beautiful gardens Day 3 Kitano Odori at Kamishichiken Geisha District Special package tickets performance and tea ceremony Day 4 Nijo jo Castle is first today Conveyor belt sushi and Nishijin textile centre with kimono show to end our day Day 5 Today is our Hozugawa river cruise in Arashiyama The two hour journey takes you through glorious scenery On arrival into town we stroll over the famous Moon viewing bridge Finish the day with a relaxing foot spa before returning to Kyoto Day 6 A short train ride takes us to Uji perhaps one of the best areas

    on the dates of the quilt show Usual dates are around the last two weeks in November That s also perfect for getting to see Christmas Kyoto style Day 1 Arrive at Narita Airport Tokyo Take the limousine bus to Yokohama and transfer to our hotel Hotel will be Western Style for this portion of the tour Get settled in and join everyone for supper Day 2 and 3 Overnight stay in Shimane prefecture This exciting trip includes a spa hotel Adachi Museum and gardens Izumo Taisha and the world class Izumo Quilt Museum Day 4 An early start today as we take the bullet train to Kyoto Arrival mid afternoon After settling into our hotel we take the evening geisha walking tour Learn the history and dispel the myths Fingers crossed we spot some of the enigmatic geisha Day 5 Today we try our hands at Yuzen painting at Kodai Yuzen Conveyor belt sushi Conveyor belt sushi and Nishijin textile centre with kimono show to end our day Day 6 Nijo jo castle and gardens take us to lunchtime After a light lunch we visit The Shibori workshop where you can try your hand at various shibori techniques and bring home a piece of your own Off to Gion for supper Day 7 Uji A short train ride takes us to Uji perhaps one of the best areas in Japan for tea growing We ll take a picnic today Day 8 Kiyomizu Dera and Maruyama Park We visit the most celebrated temple in Kyoto Passing through Maruyama Park past Yasaka Jinja Pottery classes can be organised today Day 9 Kanazawa is our destination today Hopping on and off the Kanaza wa loop bus we go through markets gardens old districts and more Day 10 Heian Jingu Pass under Japans

    Chigiri e Contact Kyoto Photography Tour After much demand we have now added a photography tour to our range of tours On average our guests take over 100 photographs day Although it is easy to take a great holiday snap its harder to add that extra element Our new tour is perfect for those with a basic knowledge of photography You don t need expensive equipment or years of experience We aim to get people thinking about making the ordinary extra ordinary Kyoto changes hourly there s always something new happening We have an overnight trip to Miyajima and see its world famous torii gate both at sunset and sunrise Each day is filled with cultural visits to temples and shrines as you would expect but after many years of honing our tours we add in the true Japan Because of our long standing relationship with the geisha of Kyoto we are able to hire a maiko for the day and try the usual shots but add in some quirky stuff too We have a wonderful Kyoto photographer on hand to give expert tuition Discounts for photography groups Discounts list coming soon Current dates and prices href media com unite

  • Mont Fuji and the snow monkeys
    The lake boasts an amazing view of Mount Fuji Or visit one of the best onsen in Japan Bathe in the energising hot springs alone or with friends it s up to you Your hotel will collect you and drive you to your accommodation Featuring a view of Mount Fuji Our Kawaguchiko hotel choices are self catering and sleep up to eight people per house Free Wi Fi is provided in all properties The individual cottages are self catering and all fitted with air conditioning heated flooring and a fully equipped kitchen Kitchen appliances include a fridge a microwave and IH cooking stoves Other facilities include a flat screen TV and a heater A hot tub is provided in the private bathroom Just a 3 minute walk from Lake Kawaguchi Kawaguchiko Train Station is a 12 minute drive away A shuttle is provided back to the station A visit to Oshino Hakkai is a must before leaving Kawaguchiko Visit the eight crystal clear ponds and visit Hannoki Bayashi Shiryokan with its traditional thatched cottages Try a boat trip take the ropeway or choose from a dozen other places to visit A full itinerary with maps etc is provided for you to make getting around as simple as possible Now let s travel to Yudanaka and Shibu Onsen Shibu Onsen street is a very famous narrow onsen street surrounded with ryokan hotels next to each other and old architecture Stroll down the street wearing kimono or yukata and traditional Japanese sandals and go from bath to bath stopping in souvenir shops or bars I recommend you join in to be a part of this real Japanese atmosphere Our inn is one of the friendliest hotels in the area The host and his family will go out of his way to make your stay special The inn is Japanese style with tatami woven straw floors futon beds and a flat screen TV Each room is air conditioned in summer and has a Kotatsu leg warming table in winter A fridge and an electric kettle are provided and bathrooms and toilets are shared The shared bathroom can be reserved for private use The property offers a shuttle to nearby locations upon request including Yudanaka Train Station There is a convenience store right behind the inn Japanese American breakfast is served at the hotel s dining room This is included in your package The shuttle to the monkey park is included The park is really just a forest for the monkeys Please be aware that the walk to the park entrance is a little uphill it s a wonderful atmospheric walk You can meet some of the monkeys even before the entrance They are just walking around or sitting on the trees Behind the entrance there are monkeys everywhere You can get very close to them take detail pictures or movies and observe the real monkey life Now to the pool with hot spring water made by stones is where the main action happens
