    power folk to the huddled masses Gareth Thompson drums and Chris Clark bass completed the line up in 2014 to bring you a live set up you don t want to miss The WeeBag Band We are 5 eejits that bring trad popular and modern toe tappin diddly diddly Irish music songs to pubs clubs doos n festivals to North Wales Cheshire Infinity beyond Paul on the strummy thing Rory on the picky thing Alan on the boomy thing Mark on the bassy thing Jules on the scratchy thing Oh and the name Well lets just say we were under the influence of something a tad iffy when we came up with that one and were stuck with it now The Bleedin Noses The Noses are a band with a category all of their own Welsh Hillbilly Punk Conceived in 2011 The Noses are a Six Piece ensemble residing in Blackwood South Wales Comprised of members Oliver Ashton Paul Julian kevin Meyrick Darren Lewis Leonard Molyneux and Lee Louie Williams Combining Acoustic and Electric Guitars Banjos Mandolins Drums Bass and Double Bass Keyboards and Accordion They Have come to describe themselves as Country Punks drawing Influence From Folk Country Punk Rock and The Blues Having released Their debut album in 2012 to many rave reviews The Noses have since gone on to tour the UK extensively and have played many festivals including The Greenman Larmer tree and Glastonbury Festival Their live performances have also gained them many prestigious accolades which include Larmer Tree Breakthrough Music Award Winner 2014 The Convents winner of The Band 2014 and most recently went on to win a slot to perform on The Godney Gartherings main stage in 2015 thenoses co uk KIZZY CRAWFORD A Welsh speaker with Bajan heritage Eighteen year old Kizzy Crawford s solo career began just two years ago In that time Kizzy has developed an increasing sophistication to her songwriting and performance which is complimented by her soaring voice that boasts both range and charisma She explains I have a fantastic cultural heritage to be proud of Welsh English and Barbadian and this is reflected in my music as well as drawing on soul indie folk jazz and songs and songwriters from the 60s and 70s She is the voice face and song of the Welcome to Wales TV ad as well as the Six Nations TV ads over past 12 months She has been in concert several times this past few years on TV and appeared on BBC newcomers Stage at Glastonbury In 2014 She is a Merthyr girl still only 19 Recently back from USA where she represented Wales in the huge SXSW festival in Texas Siôn Russell Jones is a singer songwriter from Cardiff Wales He has a unique and infectious vocal backed up by intricate guitar melodies and cracking choruses Since the release of his debut album And Suddenly Siôn has had an exciting few years securing an endorsement deal with Stonebridge Guitars and a publishing

    in folk music started to grow when he was a teenager He studied at the RWCMD where he also learned to play the lute and his biggest influences include Martin Simpson Richard Thompson Mark Knopfler Davy Graham Nath has performed at numerous venues including folk events charity concerts and Quaker gatherings Also he has performed in Sweden a few times and in Pendle Hill in America the Acapela studio with his old band where the CD Ymlaen was launched the National Eisteddfod in the Cytun and Maes G tents and numerous Folk Festivals the Fishguard Folk Festival Folk on the Lawn Cwlwm Celtaidd and Rochester plus Glyn Swanborough More Sunday Eric Faulkner The songwriter guitarist and fiddle playing star from The Bay City Rollers has sold over 300 million records world wide heading the UK chats on 6 occassions and four times topping the USA billboard He is now recognised as one of Scotland s choice folk and roots artists singing the traditional Scots folk tales as well as the acoustic repertoire from his charting days a great opportunity to see this multi instrumentalist at close hand Son of Jack is a suprise and welcome addition to the festival of The Celts in Cwmtrch over the bank holiday He has been a constant writer and member of the Chrissie Hynde Pretenders US supergroup touring America recently he plays an acoustic set on Saturday late afternoon Son Of Jack is Welsh born singer and songwriter JP Jones Although perhaps best known for his work with Chrissie Hynde of The Pretenders JP can also count Cher Gary Barlow and Lucinda Williams as fans of his songs with the former cutting his song Sirens for her latest album JP is pursuing a largely acoustic sound propagated from the Welsh roots that lie so close to his heart history and inspiration Son Of Jack is a project that speaks for itself inspired by JP s own family and a promise to carry on his Father s name JP gained critical acclaim as the frontman of Grace the band he formed with former schoolmates and which were described as jaw droppingly good by The Sunday Times and then later found significant success in the US with Chrissie Hynde as JP Chrissie and the Fairground Boys Touring the country twice with the band including an appearance at Lollapalooza Festival and on the legendary Jimmy Fallon Show And so as journeys often do JP Jones has come full circle back to Wales and the shores of Porthcawl Son Of Jack is an honest open letter to everything that he has experienced over the last two years and with the expert production fingerprints of Victor Van Vugt Nick Cave and Beth Orton and Sam Miller The Temperance Movement to be found all over the project Son Of Jack is JP s best work yet Bear Bones are well known on the South Wales folk music scene playing clubs bars and festivals Their music and performances work well on

  • The 2014 Green Valley Arts Wild Boar Guitar Feast & Harvest Hoe Down

    wing as a mentor for this young artist The video has now had over 400 000 hits on YouTube April 2013 saw Dan recording in Nashville with grammy winning producer Vance Powel He said It s weird how it all happened I got on a plane for the first time last week and was in Nashville which is an amazing place We went to Willy Nelson s 80th birthday party with Neil Young Sheryl Crow and Nora Jones some amazing people that I have known to watch but then got to see them in front of me Dan played guitar and sung the Willy Nelson song Roll Me Up and Smoke Me When I Die at the end of the party He was also invited to play the song on the Andrew Marr programme and is also taking to the road with ZZ Top as an opening act for their European dates Dan will also perform at Glastonbury among other festivals and release his first recordings on BluesBoy Recs Website http bluesboydanowen com Facebook https www facebook com pages Blues Boy Dan Owen 107147365988686 fref ts Pat Grover The Hawks Pat Grover a real British bluesman arrived on the London scene from Newcastle way back in 1969 and through Simon Praeger and Steve Rye appeared with Stackhouse Blues Band on The Mike Raven Show and The Alexis Korner Show both forerunners to the Paul Jones Show Featured on the CD A History of UK Blues and R B 1955 2001 Pat has not only played in such historical venues as Studio 51 The Marquee Club and The 100 Club but has also toured and gigged with Blues Legends Lightnin Slim Whispering Smith J B Hutto The Hawks Eddie Guitar Burns Gene Mighty Flea Connors Snooky Prior Doctor Ross Eddie Taylor Boogie Woogie Red Sunnyland Slim Champion Jack Dupree and Arthur Crudup Longstanding guitarist with the Johnny Mars Band he toured Europe in the early 70s and during 1980 82 toured and recorded on Appaloosa Records with both blues maestro Gordon Smith and Helen Watson His current band Pat Grover The Hawks have been together since 2008 Sicknote Steve Sicknote Steve recreates the authentic sound of the original hobo bluesman No technical trickery here the authentic guitar paying skills and vocals of Sicknote Steve invoke the atmosphere of the Mississippi Delta as he slides and stomps his way through the Seasick songbook To audiences in the South West and Wales the familiar bearded figure of hobo bluesman Sicknote Steve has become synonomous with a a great session of the blues bringing with him the music of Grammy Award winning Seasick Steve A great favourite at many events at the Green Valley and The Acoustic Festival of Britain www talismansounds com sicknotesteve Stainless Steve Cardiff based Steve Garrett has cooked musically with many different flavourings over the years As Stainless Steve he returns to his radical musical roots to create wryly observant songs for our times which aim to amuse entertain inform
