did receive you last communication i just never quite know how to respond to corporate requests re jdast JDast was built for private use and the terms conditions state that it is not for any type of commercial use This is not an absolute and i could be persuaded to allow its use and or make any requested changes I have been asked by a handful of companies if they could buy use JDast but i have always ended up saying no for a couple of reasons The first is i am always concerned that once any money changes hands i could end up financially responsible if everything did not work 100 which i can not guarantee for every computer The other is that JDast has been a long standing hobby of mine and im always afraid i might lose control of it Im sure these things can be sorted without to much trouble but im out of my depth here and would really need independent advice I am not sure if you are familiar with a 2009 US Government sponsored project entitled CONNECTING AMERICA THE NATIONAL BROADBAND PLAN I was not aware of the U S version but i am aware of the SamKnows blackbox project here in the UK i read that it did not do so well and a lot of people did not trust the packet sniffing data collection going on i had at one point thought about sighing up but in the end decided against it donation are only accepted in Pound Sterling I never really expected jdast to be as popular as it has become i shall ask rob to have a look into this thx Many Thx JackDinn My software never has bugs it just develops random new features Top Jimmy06 Posts 13

Jun 17 2012 6 30 pm I was going to let this drop but now you people are beginning to piss me off Here s what I posted over on GHacks so people don t have to jump back and forth following this BS Ha ha ha The JDAST crew has to be the most sensitive group of whining defensive crybabies that I have ever seen I used the term lazy because that is what most programmers are when they choose to hard code a variable instead of making it dynamic But since you pleaded being IGNORANT of basic programming practices because you are a only a hobbyist programmer then perhaps you should have studied a bit more before beginning your project Do you want to continue this thread here and on GHacks Or quit now Top Jimmy06 Posts 13 Joined Tue Jan 24 2012 11 07 pm Re Choice of install location Quote Post by Jimmy06 Sun Jun 17 2012 7 19 pm I think it was more of an explanation rather then any form of defense On another note you never posted a question you posted a rant Top jackdinn Site Admin Posts 189 Joined Tue Jan 24 2012 11 44 am Location Norfolk UK Contact Contact jackdinn Website Re Choice of install location Quote Post by jackdinn Sun Jun 17 2012 10 47 pm Iv already said id have a look at it for you but your still here tolling around why if you don t what to use my code then please feel free not to But since you pleaded being IGNORANT of basic programming practices because you are a only a hobbyist programmer then perhaps you should have studied a bit more before beginning your project why does this gesser keep thinking we ever started

  • A couple of feature requests - JD's Auto Speed Tester
ini file if its a very specific one off kinda thing just for yourself The adding of the computer name to the csv file has been done there is no need for any config options for it as iv got it to work for older csv s that don t have that column so its now a permanent feature from next beta onwards p s i have sent you an email at 19 45 but im not sure its got through please keep any eye out for it if you don t receive it please let me know thx Many Thx JackDinn My software never has bugs it just develops random new features Top mlm v6dev Posts 10 Joined Fri May 04 2012 3 01 am Re A couple of feature requests Quote Post by mlm v6dev Sun May 06 2012 8 21 am Hi there Sorry for the delay have been on a weekend bike ride just got back The reason I would like to be able to specify the csv filename is that my email client can automatically save the emailed csv from each of the 3 PC s that I am testing into a test folder but the csv s overwrite each other as they all have the same name I currently have them sending their weekly emails on different days so that I can clear each one before the next one comes in If the name could be specified then I can make each one different and they won t overwrite Specifying it in the ini file would be fine Thanks again for adding the extra column I have a question I didn t read your previous reply fully reading on phone while away for the weekend but now I see that you mention the Computer Name and a UUID I thought by Computer Name you meant any name that I care to give the computer within JDast s config I now see that you meant the OS Computer Name which may not be unique Would it be possible for you to concatenate the OS Computer Name and the UUID in that column That way the data set would be both easily recognisable from the name and unique from the UUID With the public IP already shown that would give heaps of useful information Re the email you sent I got the standard forum notification that you had posted a reply timed at 13 55 BST but that s all Did you send an email directly to my gmail address Thanks Top jackdinn Site Admin Posts 189 Joined Tue Jan 24 2012 11 44 am Location Norfolk UK Contact Contact jackdinn Website Re A couple of feature requests Quote Post by jackdinn Sun May 06 2012 10 20 am mlm v6dev wrote Hi there Sorry for the delay have been on a weekend bike ride just got back The reason I would like to be able to specify the csv filename is that my email client
