    in small animal veterinary physiotherapy However along with her work with dogs she also treats horses and is currently researching Surface EMG activity of the rectus abdominis muscle at stand walk and trot in horses with various cervical postures Kate has a varied case load of orthopaedic neurological and musculoskeletal referrals and has experience with both hydrotherapy and land based rehabilitation cases She is a Physiotherapy Clinical Educator and is working with Greyfriars to develop their portfolio of CPD courses for veterinary professionals She is currently training her young horse to compete in three day events and is also a keen sailor Susanna Alwen MA Cantab VetMB MRCVS Susanna graduated from Cambridge University Vet School in 2002 and went into general practice to learn a broad range of veterinary skills After four years she became a technical veterinary advisor for a veterinary pharmaceutical company In this role she was given the opportunity to attend veterinary orthopaedic conferences around Europe where she developed a keen interest in rehabilitation and pain management After six years in this position she decided to return to clinical practice to put her knowledge to practical use She attended a hydrotherapy course at Greyfriars in 2011 and has now joined the team offering a veterinary referral service comprising pain management hydrotherapy and acupuncture When she is not working Susanna divides her time between her love of the sea and her flock of sheep Holidays are spent indulging her hobby of underwater photography of marine life while studying for a part time PhD in marine biology Free time at home is spent looking after a growing smallholding with the sheep Ben the ram and chickens Diana Lowe Diana is Greyfriars Administrator responsible for all the practical arrangements for the rehabilitation and hydrotherapy courses along with CPD days She is also involved in the day to day running of Greyfriars not to say looking after Angela and her diary Her main working career was as an event manager for a big charity organising events as diverse as awards nights House of Commons receptions and conferences But a chance chat with Angela resulted in her agreeing to a few hours a week helping out with administration The few hours became a lot of hours and with the development of the training courses along with CPD days Diana found her event management skills in great demand Dogs have always played a huge role in Diana s life her father bought her first dog on the day she was born and she cannot imagine a life without dogs in the house Her love affair with Border Collies began with the arrival of Mo in 1972 Mo was followed by Moss Bracken Polly Tweed Willow and Storm and she became involved in the world of competitive obedience and agility both training her own dogs and teaching others She now lives with Hope who is her agility dog and Duke a senior citizen Walking and training her dogs takes up most of her spare
