    renewing the Great Yarmouth Business Improvement District gyBID for a third five year term The scheme is managed by the Great Yarmouth Town Centre Partnership and has been operational since an original ballot ten years ago and its first renewal in 2011 The successful ballot allows for an additional levy on businesses to be charged to fund street wardens CCTV events and other initiatives within Great Yarmouth town centre Only those businesses liable for the additional levy were able to vote in the ballot that was overseen by the Elections officer at Great Yarmouth Borough Council The result of the ballot which closed at 5pm Thursday 25th February is called on two grounds a simple majority in number and a majority by percentage of rateable value The result of the ballot as declared by Returning Officer for Great Yarmouth Borough Council saw a turnout of 38 with 86 voting in favour of the BID proposals by number and 94 by total aggregate rateable value of the votes cast A Business Plan detailing the main activities delivered by the gyBID and the projects and initiatives that the BID hopes to support over the next five years has been sent to each of the businesses involved in the ballot The Business Plan was compiled following consultation with eligible businesses both in writing and at a number of events organised by the Town Centre Partnership More information on the BID can be found at www gybid co uk Use any of the Great Yarmouth Borough Council town centre car parks and spend 10 or more in one transaction at participating retailers to get the equivalent cost of 1 hours parking discounted off your purchase On redemption of voucher from ticket machine T s C s apply Click here for details EVENTS 07 05
