    Fundraising Volunteer Sponsor an Event Join In Healthy Heart Cause Related Marketing Company Giving Adopt a Room Events Heartbeat Events Dancing with Choirs 2016 Remedy Oak Golf Day 2016 Golf at Goodwood Community Events Hearts and Smiles Golf Day Charity Boxing Who Dares Wins Challenge Events Tandem Skydive Wight Challenge Southampton Half Marathon Sahara Trek Morrisons Great South Run Hendy Ford Eastleigh 10K Road Race Just Walk 2016 Fundraising Pack Sponsorship Forms Photo Gallery Heartbeat House Heartbeat House Relatives Stories News News GRAND PRIZE DRAW Patient Stories Students bring Mrs Hearty to life And Hearty meets his Mum Wessex Heartbeat s large rhino Mrs Hearty has been brought to life by four talented art students from Richard Taunton 6 th Form College in Southampton as part of the College s support of the Charity s HIGH 5 Appeal The amazingly intricate and colourful design was developed and painted by artists Mehnaz Rahman and Mary Eyon along with photographer Emmanuel Owusu Afram and graphic designer Ryan Young A total of 63 hours were needed to complete Mrs Hearty including during the College s half term Mehnaz summed up the feelings of the students I m really sad we ve finished the painting We ve all loved doing Mrs Hearty and it was a great challenge The whole thing has been made more special because we know what we ve achieved will help young people with heart conditions Wessex Heartbeat Chief Executive Alison Farrell was also delighted with the result I could never have imagined that we would end up with such a fabulous design From start to finish the students showed incredible commitment and dedication and a real enthusiasm for the rhino to work well for Wessex Heartbeat particularly for our HIGH 5 Appeal I have no doubt all the artists

    Healthy Heart Cause Related Marketing Company Giving Adopt a Room Events Heartbeat Events Dancing with Choirs 2016 Remedy Oak Golf Day 2016 Golf at Goodwood Community Events Hearts and Smiles Golf Day Charity Boxing Who Dares Wins Challenge Events Tandem Skydive Wight Challenge Southampton Half Marathon Sahara Trek Morrisons Great South Run Hendy Ford Eastleigh 10K Road Race Just Walk 2016 Fundraising Pack Sponsorship Forms Photo Gallery Heartbeat House Heartbeat House Relatives Stories News News GRAND PRIZE DRAW Patient Stories Ecu Line s HIGH 5 Five a Side 650 netted for the Appeal For the second year running the global freight company Ecu Line UK Ltd based in Eastleigh sponsored the Solent Freight Community Charity 5 a Side football tournament with 10 teams from amongst its customers and suppliers generating fierce but friendly competition in temperatures reaching the high 20s The Map Cargo Ltd team from Southampton carried off the impressive trophy beating Pentalvers in a tense evenly matched final settled by penalty shoot out The other winner of the day was Wessex Heartbeat gaining a welcome 650 boost to its 500 000 HIGH 5 Appeal to create a special unit for young people with life long heart conditions Ecu Line Managing Director Jim Pearson was sanguine about his own teams failing to take the trophy The lads definitely take their football seriously and who doesn t want to win but the event is also a great chance for a social get together and we all like charity to benefit I ve been involved with Wessex Heartbeat this year and it s a great charity so that s why the HIGH 5 Appeal was the Company s chosen beneficiary on this occasion Other teams competing were Peters May Premier Shipping and Packing Harris Transport MOL Runners up and winners trophies

    Skydive Wight Challenge Southampton Half Marathon Sahara Trek Morrisons Great South Run Hendy Ford Eastleigh 10K Road Race Just Walk 2016 Fundraising Pack Sponsorship Forms Photo Gallery Heartbeat House Heartbeat House Relatives Stories News News GRAND PRIZE DRAW Patient Stories Work Experience from the Heart A great achievement A team of 17 students from St George s VA Catholic School completed a work experience project with a difference when they planned and executed two weeks of school fundraising for Wessex Heartbeat Their job like teams on BBC s Apprentice was to produce a business plan for a series of chosen fundraising events to include producing costings accessing loans getting permissions and then of course making it all happen At the last count the fundraisers had raised 650 through their events including getting fellow students to pay to tuck into their barbequed hot dogs throw wet sponges at teachers and take part in a football competition A raffle with prizes donated by local businesses and others was the final popular fundraiser School Inclusion Manager Linda Tanner was delighted with their efforts The enthusiasm and dedication to the task shown by our students as well as their achievements was absolutely excellent I call this serious fun it s developmental and a great learning opportunity as well as being enjoyable for all Laraine Sturrock the ELSA Emotional Literacy Support Asst at St George s was one of the reasons why the students choose Wessex Heartbeat so enthusiastically Laraine and her husband both have heart conditions and have been treated in the Cardiac Centre at Southampton General Hospital The boys generously wanted to help Laraine give something back Heart disease is a reality for me and my family and we live with it day to day Wessex Heartbeat over the years has helped to
