  • Helen Howes Textiles - Free Tutorial - Laptop Sleeve Page 4
left out of the original set to make the bindings Sewed end to end pressed the seam allowances open and folded in half with the Right Side Out and pressed again I started by binding the top inside edge see image above by sewing the raw edges of the binding onto the inside of the edge using a rather mean 1 4 inch seam then turning the folded edge to the outside and stitching it down with a fancy stitch note I used a separate piece of black as the 1 8 wasn t enough If you make a sleeve for an iPad or tablet you will have enough Start at the bottom left as you look at the sleeve and sew round three sides Binding a corner sew to 1 4 inch from the corner and back tack a couple of stitches Take the work out of the machine and fold the binding up as shown Then down along edge 2 making sure the fold is right on the edge Repeat on the next corner Fold the binding over the edge and pin firmly before finishing with a pretty stitch a zigzag or straight stitch close to the edge
