  • Our Constitution
    in the executive committee who have the right to refuse entry without stating reasons 1 The executive committee may disqualify suspend or expel members after previously notifying the member concerned in writing of their intentions and allowing a hearing in front of the executive committee upon their request Membership will be terminated forthwith 2 If any member fails to pay the annual subscription within 3 months of being requested to do so or 3 If any member is found unworthy of membership by the executive committee 4 Any member of the association may voluntarily terminate membership by resignation in writing to the secretary Subscriptions Subscriptions will be agreed annually and revised as necessary at the association AGM All subscriptions will be due annually on 1st July Any member who has not sent his her subscription to the secretary by 1st August will be sent one reminder only All members are responsible for notifying changes of address to the secretary in writing Executive committee officers 1 The chairperson will hold office for 2 years and will be eligible for re election 2 Members of the executive committee will hold their office for one year only will be eligible for re election 3 Nominations for the posts of chairperson and members of the executive committee must be proposed by full individual or student members or corporate nominees and must be authorised by the nominated member At least nine members of the committee including the chairperson must be full individual members of corporate nominees of the association 4 The executive committee will comprise The Chairperson Three further officers vice chairperson secretary and treasurer Eight additional members The appointment of officers will with the exception of the chairperson be agreed between those elected to the committee 5 The position of treasurer may at the discretion of the executive committee be on an Ex officio basis In this case the number of additional members will be increased to nine 6 The voting for the executive committee is limited to full individual and student members and corporate nominees as detailed in article 2 of the constitution If there are more than 11 nominees for committee places each voting member shall have 11 votes 1 for each of the non chair executive committee places each year Likewise in each alternate year each voting member shall have 1 vote for the position of chairperson Two tellers will be appointed at the AGM to count the votes cast for each nomination and inform the chairperson of the result The chairperson is empowered to scrutinise the work of the tellers who will be appointed alter nomination and agreement from the floor of the meeting If necessary the chairperson will authorise a vote to be taken in respect of the appointment of the tellers 7 At the AGM or subsequent meeting the newly elected executive committee may propose or review the appointment of the position of president The president will be a person of considerable standing in the industry with a

    are the ones to watch through their skills results and career path to date Why should the nominee win the category entered How has the nominee contributed to the success of the performance of the HR department What has been the nominee s personnel development plan What are the nominee s career plans and how are they going to achieve it What will be the benefit to the organisation for them achieving this Excellence in Human Resources This award is aimed at HR teams that can demonstrate genuine strategic status within their organisations Entries should explain the business strategy and the contribution of the team to meeting objectives Judges will look at the team s own strategy how this was devised and implemented the involvement and collaboration with other functions and what results have been achieved Entries should explain how the team identified priorities and how HR has measured the benefits Be able to demonstrate that they have developed an effective HR team The entry should show HR at its most creative and flexible Entries should provide evidence of speed of reaction thinking outside the box Has a creative approach been used to meet our needs for an ever changing market What has been the benefit or value seen as a result of this initiative Excellence in Learning Talent Development This award looks for learning and development interventions that have significantly benefited the organisation particularly if the professionals involved have developed new approaches The judges will want to see evidence of improved performance and gains in employee skills and capabilities Entrants should show how training has boosted motivation and helped focus staff on key organisational objectives The judges will look for well designed innovative and well delivered learning and development programmes How was the Learning and Talent Development initiative derived from and closely aligned to the business strategy or needs How was the Learning and Talent Development initiative implemented at both strategic and operational levels What were the outcomes both expected and unexpected How did the initiative add value and offer ROI Excellence in Employee Engagement NEW This award looks for how HR has helped build business success through its people The judges will want to see what you have done to get the people bit right how you have motivated your staff to be more productive and deliver better performance You need to demonstrate that the values are lived and not just spoken Give an example of an employee engagement initiative in your organisation and how you have unlocked that discretionary effort from staff Provide evidence of great leadership exceptional levels of communication and any culture initiatives that were focused on organisation needs Include measurement data such as employee surveys staff turnover absence and show how you really understood the link between performance and engagement Excellence in establishing links with Schools Colleges To win this award we are looking for a team or individual who has built strong links in the education sector who has helped to change perceptions
