  • “I haven’t got time to get better”
as an integral part of everyone s job it must be allocated time on a formal basis and it must be monitored in the same way as any other key aspect of an individual s performance The message is simple senior management must make it absolutely clear that every individual in the organisation is expected to spend at least 10 15 of their normal time working on ways of getting better at their job Yes yes yes I hear you all saying but are you really doing it Ask yourself these simple questions Are change activities and personal development explicitly written in to every individual s job description Does every individual have specific performance indicators in their appraisal mechanism to monitor the effort put into and results achieved from change activities If you cannot with all honesty answer yes to both of these questions isn t it time you did something about it For many managers this is a really hard call They are so used to being driven for results that it is inconceivable to spend 15 of your time on activities that don t provide immediate benefit to the bottom line They know that they should but there simply isn t the incentive until now Published by James Osborne October 29th 2015 James Osborne James Osborne Comments Thank you for your comment It has been submitted for moderation and will appear here as soon as we have been able to approve it Your Name Your Email Title Text BLOG TWITTER NEWS 16 Feb 2016 We re Recruiting Digital Marketing Executive As part of our expansion plans in 2016 Innergy are looking for a Digital Marketing Executive to head up the Innergy Digital division 12 Feb 2016 Congratulations to Innergy client Blacks Vets All 5 branches of Blacks Vets have been ranked in the top 10 vet branches in the UK more 16 Feb 2016 Does every employee understand what defines success It is very telling when we go into a company and you talk to the receptionist or the customer service advisor and you ask then what defines success for the organisation In our experience it would be roughly 8 out of10 who say that they don t know 08 Feb 2016 Risk Management Move Your Feet When I was playing tennis the other day I remembered the constant badgering from my tennis instructor when I was younger telling me to move my feet This was a great analogy for how to deal with the broad variety of risks faced by any company more Sales Training Designed for new and experienced sales professionals who want to significantly increase the effectiveness of their sales activities find out more Packaged Services We have developed a number of unique service packages based on what our clients have asked us to do for them in the past find out more Next Event Sales Excellence Masterclass London 20 Apr 2016 OUR CLIENTS Goodwood Innergy invested a lot of time getting to know the

  • Generating Referrals
is the message that anyone externally promoting your services and products is using Remember a good pitch is to the point memorable and all about what you can do for your customers and not all about you Build a referral team Once you have your pitch in place you then need to build a referral team your free external sales team To do this identify whom you know that fits the following criteria They like and trust you They have used your services products before They have a good network of contacts They are good salespeople themselves Once you have your list for each of them ask yourself what is one thing you have and that they want need This is the reward that you give them in turn for each referral Quite often if you really think about it these rewards are both easy to administer and free These can include reciprocal referrals of their business free training and advice reduced rates for your product service and so on Engage your referral team and build momentum Finally you need to engage your new sales team by ensuring they are committed to the process in return for the rewards they will receive You need to present your pitch to them walk them through the case studies and leave them with copies if necessary train them up to use the pitch and then agree some targets to aim for Remember also that for every referral you get from them that turns into new business for you contact them thank them and let them know what happened so they can see the benefits of what they are doing for you An organisation that spends 500 000 on a sales team of 10 people that delivers on targets is doing well An organisation that spends 500 000 on a sales team of 20 or more is clearly going to do far better Published by James Osborne October 20th 2015 James Osborne James Osborne Comments Thank you for your comment It has been submitted for moderation and will appear here as soon as we have been able to approve it Your Name Your Email Title Text BLOG TWITTER NEWS 16 Feb 2016 We re Recruiting Digital Marketing Executive As part of our expansion plans in 2016 Innergy are looking for a Digital Marketing Executive to head up the Innergy Digital division 12 Feb 2016 Congratulations to Innergy client Blacks Vets All 5 branches of Blacks Vets have been ranked in the top 10 vet branches in the UK more 16 Feb 2016 Does every employee understand what defines success It is very telling when we go into a company and you talk to the receptionist or the customer service advisor and you ask then what defines success for the organisation In our experience it would be roughly 8 out of10 who say that they don t know 08 Feb 2016 Risk Management Move Your Feet When I was playing tennis the other day I

reputation then you have to spend money trying to educate your market as to why they should buy from you It improves employee satisfaction will help attract better new recruits and reduce employee turnover It improves productivity It allows you to charge premiums It increases client retention which has a direct improvement in your bottom line Typically a 5 increase in client retention leads to a 35 increase in profitability It increases revenue with your existing clients who trust you It increases new business as referrals and word of mouth attract new clients So if you get it right a good reputation is a very real form of sales Whilst my wife is still reticent to use the word sell I am now eating humble pie as I now recognise that actually she is already extremly commercial Published by James Osborne October 6th 2015 James Osborne James Osborne Comments Thank you for your comment It has been submitted for moderation and will appear here as soon as we have been able to approve it Your Name Your Email Title Text BLOG TWITTER NEWS 16 Feb 2016 We re Recruiting Digital Marketing Executive As part of our expansion plans in 2016 Innergy are looking for a Digital Marketing Executive to head up the Innergy Digital division 12 Feb 2016 Congratulations to Innergy client Blacks Vets All 5 branches of Blacks Vets have been ranked in the top 10 vet branches in the UK more 16 Feb 2016 Does every employee understand what defines success It is very telling when we go into a company and you talk to the receptionist or the customer service advisor and you ask then what defines success for the organisation In our experience it would be roughly 8 out of10 who say that they don t know 08 Feb 2016 Risk Management Move Your Feet When I was playing tennis the other day I remembered the constant badgering from my tennis instructor when I was younger telling me to move my feet This was a great analogy for how to deal with the broad variety of risks faced by any company more Sales Training Designed for new and experienced sales professionals who want to significantly increase the effectiveness of their sales activities find out more Packaged Services We have developed a number of unique service packages based on what our clients have asked us to do for them in the past find out more Next Event Sales Excellence Masterclass London 20 Apr 2016 OUR CLIENTS Goodwood Innergy invested a lot of time getting to know the business and culture of Goodwood and the type of managers that would be on the programme a completely diverse mix I am delighted the feedback has been so positive Penta Consultancy Not only do they have a true insight into what we need in our industry but they combine this knowledge and expertise with creativity and innovation Greene King The feedback from the training was fantastic BDMs and licensees alike

liars would have drier tongues which got stuck to the poker Things were much simpler in those days Most of think that the symptoms of lying include a number of the following Avoiding eye contact Squirming or shifting in their seats Sweaty hands Rambling answers Agitated gestures Longer noses However research has showed that people who are not telling the truth are no more outwardly nor inwardly anxious than others Rather we should be looking out for people doing things that correspond with thinking hard This would include Less gesturing Above average repetition Shorter and less detailed answers to questions Pausing and hesitation Using I and me less Evasiveness So the skill we need is the ability to listen and ask the right questions and dig deeper One other thing to note is that lying is reduced when people are required to put things to paper Research by Cornell University showed that in comparison to in emails people lied almost three times more in phone conversations and twice as much in face to face situations So if in doubt get them to clarify things in writing And if we do unearth someone who has not been telling the truth before we unleash ourselves perhaps we should step back and challenge ourselves as to why people in our team feel the need to cover something up As Stephen Covey suggests seek first to understand Comments Thank you for your comment It has been submitted for moderation and will appear here as soon as we have been able to approve it Your Name Your Email Title Text BLOG TWITTER NEWS 16 Feb 2016 We re Recruiting Digital Marketing Executive As part of our expansion plans in 2016 Innergy are looking for a Digital Marketing Executive to head up the Innergy Digital division 12 Feb 2016 Congratulations to Innergy client Blacks Vets All 5 branches of Blacks Vets have been ranked in the top 10 vet branches in the UK more 16 Feb 2016 Does every employee understand what defines success It is very telling when we go into a company and you talk to the receptionist or the customer service advisor and you ask then what defines success for the organisation In our experience it would be roughly 8 out of10 who say that they don t know 08 Feb 2016 Risk Management Move Your Feet When I was playing tennis the other day I remembered the constant badgering from my tennis instructor when I was younger telling me to move my feet This was a great analogy for how to deal with the broad variety of risks faced by any company more Sales Training Designed for new and experienced sales professionals who want to significantly increase the effectiveness of their sales activities find out more Packaged Services We have developed a number of unique service packages based on what our clients have asked us to do for them in the past find out more Next Event Sales Excellence Masterclass London 20
