coins to go into when the people pay 20 pence for it This would mean that the shopkeeper wouldnt have to take on the risk of paying for the magazines upfront but it would also mean that they have to remember to put the 20 pences into our little box when customers pay for our mag SO my two main questions are these do you think customers will take 4 000 copies of the magazine at 20p each bearing in mind it is a small magazine but it is nicely designed with a more attractive cover and paper quality than other free magazines Do you think we can sell all 4 000 within a month considering that it took 8 days when the magazines were free And also how willing do you think shopkeepers will be to get into this kind of transaction It is a small amount will it be a hassle for them Will they be willing to pay 1 00 upfront for 10 magazines Or will they be willing to do our box idea and put the 20 pences into that box What do you guys think We are really stumped at this time and could really do with any help and advice Thanks in advance my fellow budding entrepreneurs 15 08 2011 09 58 AM 2 permalink jbarnett Junior Member Join Date Jun 2011 Posts 10 Re Magazine Business HELP If your magazine is as popular as you suggest then 20p might be an attractive enough price to entice customers however I think if you can get shop owners to see the benefits of the magazine there is no reason why you can t go down this route Alternatively you could consider developing it as an online magazine and request people to subscribe to it This tends to do quite well and advertising via affiliate programmes is easy to come by and you get paid per lead sale call Personally I would consider the online option with all the eBooks and tablets out there I think the market is shifting to digital magazines rather than printed 15 08 2011 02 06 PM 3 permalink SabirAhmed Junior Member Join Date Aug 2011 Posts 3 Re Magazine Business HELP Hi Jbarnett Thanks for the thoughts Some people on other forums are saying a price tag alone can be off putting no mater how small and some people are disagreeing with this completely Would you buy a magazine that you found fairly interesting for 20p bearing in mind the cover is attractive and glossy the info we offer is pretty hard to get elsewhere and it does come with offers and coupons inside get a free drink at this bar or get money off tickets to this etc I think I owuld buy it and it s not like I m a big extravagent spender or anything We have thought of developing an online magazine I am actually working on the website as we speak we had one developed
