    taught most of our 51 first cousins to play on this beaten up guitar with the bridge fixed up with a piece of mechano  And we all grew up with uncles and aunts singing Crosby Stills Nash songs with these amazing harmonies it must have sunk in  It used to irritate Mike family by marriage that whenever he would be humming to himself we d all pipe up with harmonies We ve indoctrinated him now though He expects that sort of thing from us How has your style of music changed from when you first started playing Mike and I used to be in a band called Recluse Filmstar which was a little more rocky and a bit Emo before that was a thing Joe was in a band in Uni called The Faff which was full of  punky indie madness really great Simon played with our other cousin Mike doing more folk rock Talitha has taught herself over about six months mind you to play violin Jen has been co opted in to play percussion I will neither confirm not deny if it was against her will Whatâ s the best thing about playing at a festival Festivals bring a wide variety of people who are there to enjoy music and relax There are not only the obvious pleasures of getting to play to a wider audience you can do it outside in a forum where pretty much everyone is relaxed and in a holiday mood They re more open to having a good time I think Whatâ s your favourite colour Well we have to say scarlet don t we If you could trade places with any band or musician for a week who would it be and why Wow Huge question which I m

    Through the Barricades with Steve Norman this year how does it feel to be singing a big Spandau Ballet hit at this year s festival I guess what makes it special is that Steve will be playing it with us otherwise it s just a cover We ve performed it with him before and it brings the house down It is an amazing song Where is your favourite place to perform Hand on heart Lakefest Although we are starting to get some amazing response in London where we really enjoy the 12 Bar Club It is on Denmark Street what used to be called Tinpan Alley and the home of some amazing moments in British rock Roll history What s your best memory of performing so far We have our own happenings high on a hill in Winchcombe where we put amazing music together for a local audience When Steve came down and played with us for the first time it was pretty special Who are your music non music idols That s easy Led Zeppelin and The Kings of Leon What is your favourite song to perform It changes right now we are digging Never Punch Your Granny When

    If you were to describe yourself your band in one word what would it be Pete licious Whatâ s been the best moment of your music career so far The release of our debut E P was a definate high point and hearing the tracks played on the radio is even better When you were starting out who were your biggest influences musically Get cape wear cape fly Mumford and sons and Dallas Green are big influenceS and this is fairly evident in a lot of the tracks we play How has your style of music changed from when you first started playing We ve become tighter and more energetic but since we started we ve simply just tried to play whatever comes out when we write Whatâ s the best thing about playing at a festival The People festival folk are the best they re out to have a great time and that s great for a band to play too Whatâ s your favourite colour Blue If you could trade places with any band or musician for a week who would it be and why Rob  the Rolling Stones immortality Pete Lionel Richie cos I love him

    an original EP With influences such as The Black Keys Oasis Arctic Monkeys and The Clash the Cheltenham based act will no doubt give you Lakefesters a lively performance at this yearâ s festival describing themselves as a great clash of 90â s grunge and indie We caught up with lead vocalist and bass player Reuben Lovett to hear about the whole livewire experience and getting a slot at our festival this summer How did you find the whole Livewire experience We enjoyed the experience as being able to see our support rally together really pushed us to write new material and make effort to progress as a band From sending us your video to the final did you ever imagine that you would win the competition We didn t set our sights on winning the experience was invaluable to us To have been given a slot on the BBC Hereford and Worcester stage Saturday 9 10 PLUG was utterly fantastic For those who donâ t know you describe your band in 3 words High energy rock Where is your favourite place to perform So far The Fleece Bristol This is really due to space and sound quality Being able each other properly really aids in our confidence when performing Whatâ s your best memory of performing so far Debut at 2Pigs in Cheltenham the venue offers an inclusive atmosphere We had the whole crowd moving  moshing and even were involved in a full scale stage invasion Who are your music non music idols We all have different Idols so I have taken one from each band member Chris Thile Ben Johnston Jimmy Hendrix Garry Moore What is your favourite song to perform Our favourite song to perform is Lemon Man A song that is immersive and we are

    you are like us and are a big fan of Brenda make sure you don t miss out on her performance on the Sunday The other week we went to meet Brenda and ask her a few questions here s what she had to say If you were to describe yourself your band in one word what would it be Accessible A lot of poetry is quite difficult to understand Mine isn t it s designed to make you laugh or cry or think a soon as you hear it What s been the best moment of your music career so far The best moment of my poetry career was the production in Ledbury Poetry Festival of my one act play Once This Was A Poet which included lots of poetry When you were starting out who were your biggest influences musically My biggest influence poetically was without doubt Roger McGough How has your style of poetry changed from when you first started writing I used to write a lot of miserable poetry with too many words now a lot of my poetry is funny and I think it s leaner What s the best thing about playing at a festival The best thing about doing poetry at a festival is that you get an audience who wouldn t normally come to poetry events that s if you get an audience at all What s your favourite colour Blue If you could trade places with any poet for a week who would it be and why If I could trade places with any poet it would be Billy Collins an American poet who always seems really relaxed I m a bit edgy If you could have one wish on the Winston s Wishing Line what would it be To have

    the UK This summer theyâ ll be playing host on the main stage at our festival for what is to be their biggest gig yet We caught up with both Johnny and Tom to get an insight into their music and their previous experiences hereâ s what they had to say Describe your band in 3 words Original passionate professional Where is your favourite place to perform So far Manchester Academy 1 supporting The Levellers in front of 2 000 people It was a nerve wracking but unforgettable experience Whatâ s your best memory of performing so far Bristol Folk Festival 2014 there was a sound glitch and we stepped down into the audience and played an unplugged cover of Bon Iver s Holocene you could have heard a pin drop A goosebump moment How did you find the whole Livewire experience Livewire was a great opportunity to promote our music We enjoyed the day of the live final hugely and once we had seen the site the lads were more determined than ever to play their socks off We just want to thank all our fans for voting if it wasnâ t for them we wouldnâ t be playing at this fantastic festival in August From sending us your video to the final did you ever imagine that you would win the competition NO We never expected to win Who are your music non music idols John Frusciante Dallas Green Jim Morrison and quite a few more What is your favourite song to perform Almost impossible to answer it depends so much on the venue and audience but our current favourite is probably Thieves which we will be releasing on Soundcloud before Lakefest If there was any song you wish you had written what would it be and why
