    to allow high level glazing to bring morning sunlight into the house Circulation space is minimised to make the most efficient use of the total house area of 167sqm The principal elevation has a strong horizontal expression with horizontal cedar cladding floating on a masonry plinth The proposed house is intended to be highly sustainable in its design and construction Construction will use natural low carbon materials as much as possible with a highly insulated timber frame which is clad in cedar and allowed to weather a silver grey colour We undertake energy modelling at design stage to assess the carbon emmissions energy consumption and financial cost of the building comp This allows us to give accurate projections for building regulation compliance and see lifecycle benefits in order to be as efficient and low carbon as possible We anticipate the technology of the construction to have the following features The external walls floor and roof are super insulated to minimise heat loss Robust high quality detailing will be used during construction with proper site supervision to ensure maximise air tightness which again reduces heat loss Triple glazed windows inert gas filled to achieve thermal properties that contribute by passive solar
