    Cricket LYCET Mike Turner Indoor Cricket Centre Coaching Clinics Friends of Grace Road Members Forum Leicestershire Cricket Society Residents Meetings Commercial Elton John Matchday Hospitality 1879 Club Captain s Club Player Sponsorship Brand Exposure and Advertising Events Tickets Online Booking 2016 Membership 2016 One Day T20 Season Ticket 2016 Charlie Fox Club 2016 David Gower Executive Club 2016 Match Ticket Prices Events 7th December 2015 Cropston CC take FoGR quiz honours The Friends of Grace Road held their 1 st Annual Quiz Night at the Charles Palmer Suite on Friday 27 th November As this was a new venture for the FoGR they were so pleased to have 28 teams competing to be the first ever winners of the Pat Ball Shield which is named in memory of their dear friend and colleague who sadly passed away earlier this year Pat served and supported the County with her husband Hugh over many years and was a true Friend of Grace Road The Shield was won by Cropston Cricket Club who correctly answered 70 out of 80 questions on general knowledge local knowledge and sport They are pictured receiving the Shield from Colin Crosby the Question Master for the evening At the other end of the spectrum Dumb Dumber and Dave were awarded the wooden spoons with 21 correct answers Many raffle ticket purchasers also went home happy with plenty of excellent prizes Everyone present enjoyed the evening and there were many calls for the event to be repeated again in 2016 Please note that the next FoGR Winter Lunch will be held on Friday 5 th February 2016 The lunch costs 14 95 per person and the Fox Bar will be open at 12 noon with food served at 12 30pm If you would like to book please call 0116

    the first ever UK SCAD Conference at Leicestershire County Cricket Club Setting a record for the most UK SCAD survivors in one place the Charles Palmer Suite at Grace Road more than half of the 87 delegates have suffered a spontaneous coronary artery dissection and many were told they d never meet another SCAD survivor because the condition is so rare Dr David Adlam and Dr Abtehale Al Hussaini who are leading the SCAD research project at the Leicester Cardiovascular Biomedical Research Unit gave very informative and detailed presentations covering the condition and early findings from the research There was a discussion led by Dr Adlam on a range of topics from diagnosing SCAD and raising awareness among cardiologists and other medical professionals to treatments and the pros and cons of different heart medication for SCAD patients Dr Abtehale Al Hussaini gave an update on the research project Nearly 330 patients have so far registered for the research and 50 have been through a range of tests She outlined what the patient research day entails from arm and neck ultrasounds to hypermobility tests and MRI scans Sally Bee SCAD survivor and celebrity chef on ITV s Lorraine show gave an inspiring talk about her experience and some invaluable advice to those who have had their SCADs recently Delegates had the opportunity to discuss how the Beat SCAD charity launched at the conference could help provide support both for survivors and family and friends Representatives from the British Heart Foundation which provides funding for the research Dr Claire Butler from the National Institute for Health Research Rare Diseases Translational Research Collaboration and the Leicester BRU attended the conference Debbie Oliver Trustee of Beat SCAD said Beat SCAD would like to thank Leicestershire Cricket Club for the fantastic venue and their staff
