    Executive Club 2016 Match Ticket Prices Cricket News 24th January 2016 Thunder secure Big Bash Trophy Leicestershire duo Clint McKay and Andrew McDonald lifted the KFC Big Bash Trophy after Sydney Thunder secured an entertaining three wicket win against Melbourne Stars It was a special day for the club as Sydney Thunder Women won the inaugural Women s Big Bash League earlier in the day also by a three wicket margin against local rivals Sydney Sixers Kevin Pietersen scored 74 off 39 balls as the Stars who were inserted at the MCG put a competitive 176 9 on the board in the final McKay claimed another victim in the showpiece game and finished as the leading wicket taker in the tournament with 18 at 15 22 McKay regularly bowled in the powerplay and at the death and maintained an economy rate of 8 09 runs per over Opener Usman Khawaja was again the key contributor for the Thunder in their chase by notching a superb 70 off 40 deliveries It tells you everything you need to know about the left hander s form that his lowest score in four KFC Big Bash innings was 62 Khawaja ended as the second leading runscorer in the competition averaging an incredible 172 50 with an equally impressive strike rate of 163 50 Everybody else chipped in as the Thunder got home with three balls to spare the win being confirmed in style as Ben Rohrer cleared the fence Victory capped an exciting competition all round for the Thunder They won the first three games lost the next four and then delivered three huge performances at the business end McDonald played an important role both on and off the field in the Thunder s success just as he did when Leicestershire Foxes won the

    2016 season Any changes will remain compliant to ECB boundary size regulations The current white picket fence will be brought in to form the new boundary edge IT Infrastructure The results of an IT infrastructure audit in 2015 revealed that the current IT provision on the ground was not sufficient enough to meet ECB recommendations In line with this we will be upgrading our provision to include public wifi and improvements to the system for LCCC staff Phase 2 from October 2016 Stand Development The intention is to bring the stand with the red seats directly to the left of the pavilion closer to the new picket fencing This will enable the club to utilise the vast space that will be created behind those stands for future opportunities that will assist the club in generating additional commercial income The Meet We are planning to refurbish the Meet from the end of the 2016 season Both the interior and exterior requires significant work to it The aim will be to create a second venue to the Charles Palmer Suite enabling us to host different types of events all year round Cricket The club embarked on a coaching restructure at the end of the season Whilst we made some positive strides on the field in 2015 we felt that if we were going to accelerate our on field progress then there was a need to restructure our coaching department Under the excellent leadership of Andrew McDonald Elite Performance Director the team that we have assembled in Keith Piper Elite Development Coach Pierre De Bruyn Second XI Coach and Nic Pothas Academy Director will provide the players with a high quality coaching unit It was obvious from the 2015 performances that the batting performances were not good enough To address this Andrew McDonald and I acted quickly to secure the high quality trio of Neil Dexter Paul Horton and Mark Pettini All have come to the club on initial three year contracts The three batsmen have excellent first class records and arrive hungry to deliver success for the club With the exception of those playing overseas the players reported back in early November and have been put through their paces Andrew McDonald will be arriving back on the 1st February to lead us into what is building up to be an exciting 2016 season To support the preparations for 2016 the players will heading to Dubai on a pre season tour in March In Dubai the squad will get the opportunity to play against other first class teams such as Yorkshire as well as utilise some of the best outdoor training facilities in the world We are delighted to be hosting an England Women s International against Pakistan on the 20th June In early 2016 we also hope to be announced as a selected venue for the Women s World Cup in 2017 Community I would like to congratulate Leicestershire Rutland Cricket on winning four community awards at the recent national Chance to

    Advertising Events Tickets Online Booking 2016 Membership 2016 One Day T20 Season Ticket 2016 Charlie Fox Club 2016 David Gower Executive Club 2016 Match Ticket Prices Cricket News 14th December 2015 Dexter and Eckersley to tour with MCC Leicestershire duo Neil Dexter and Ned Eckersley are travelling to South Africa as part of the MCC s final tour of 2015 later this month MCC will play six matches on the tour which departs on December 27 against a variety of opposition including KwaZulu Natal Crusaders and a Western Province Cricket Association XI The touring party will also give a coaching session to local children from the Khayelitsha township in Cape Town MCC Head of Cricket John Stephenson said This is the Club s final tour of the year and it promises to be a fantastic one We have picked a very talented squad with plenty of current and former professionals involved as we are expecting a very high standard of cricket We will be playing two matches on 6th day Test match pitches at Kingsmead and Newlands which I m sure will be an enjoyable experience for all the players Most importantly they will be ambassadors for MCC and its
