    Ticket Prices Cricket News 28th September 2015 Pettini signs for Leicestershire Leicestershire County Cricket Club is delighted to secure the signing of Essex batsman Mark Pettini on a three year contract at Grace Road Pettini is the third quality batsman with leadership experience to have joined Leicestershire in the last few weeks following the arrival of Neil Dexter from Middlesex and Paul Horton from Lancashire The 32 year old is a stroke maker who has amassed 7 926 first class runs at an average of 36 73 including 46 fifties and 12 centuries Pettini has made LV County Championship scores of 134 68 and 117 not out this season and ended with a terrific average of over 100 The batsman also has a fine record in white ball cricket where his trademark has been to play aggressive innings as an opener Pettini who captained Essex between 2007 and 2010 has made 4 352 List A runs at 29 20 and has scored 2 926 T20 runs with a highly impressive strike rate of 128 89 Pettini said I m extremely pleased to sign Leicestershire have shown great faith in me and I m excited to be a part of the squad The vision that Wasim Khan and Andrew McDonald have for the club is extremely exciting and I m already looking forward to next season Leicestershire and Rutland Cricket Chief Executive Wasim Khan MBE said We are delighted to have secured the signings of three high class batsmen with leadership experience in Mark Pettini Neil Dexter and Paul Horton It was imperative that we added experience to our batting line up to complement the talented young players that we have at Grace Road and we are pleased to have signed all three players before the start of our winter programme

    also scooped the Livingston Award for being the most improved uncapped player The 24 year old has signed two contract extensions in a summer where he finished as the club s highest wicket taker in the LV CC and joint leading wicket taker in NatWest T20 Blast Raine also chipped in with useful runs this summer and was delighted to win the three awards He said To be nominated and appreciated by your peers is a special moment I actually voted for Clint so to win the Players Player of the Year award alongside him is an honour I have learnt a lot from Clint and Shrecky Charlie Shreck and it s been a really enjoyable season I didn t want it to end really McKay made it a double by winning the Frank S Smith Cup for bowling in the First XI which was due reward in a campaign where he took 58 LV County Championship wickets in 12 games at a terrific average of 24 81 Like Raine the Victorian claimed 14 NatWest T20 Blast wickets and also led the way in the Royal London One Day Cup with nine victims at 19 66 apiece The Livingston Cup for Batting in the First XI went to Mark Cosgrove after the skipper scored the most runs in both the LV County Championship and NatWest T20 Blast while Niall O Brien won Roger Goadby s fielding award after claiming more than 50 Championship dismissals Opening batsman Angus Robson won the John Josephs Award for best individual performance in a first XI match his brilliant 120 in the first innings at Essex followed by a cool 71 in the second dig to help the team get over the line Aadil Ali was named Second XI Player of the Year after making

    to spare Tom De Fraja top scored for the Dragons with 22 but spinners Henry James 3 22 and Jack Hoult 2 11 restricted their opponents to 97 all out after they had opted to bat first Josh Ellwood retired after making a superb 50 from 25 balls as the Strikers went on to record a six wicket victory The second semi final between the Hurricanes and Loughborough Cobras was delicately poised until Gilford turned the game with a whirlwind knock Seamer Gilford had claimed 3 18 as the Cobras were dismissed for 131 in the final over but the Hurricanes who had put the Cobras in slipped to 39 3 in their chase after wickets for Tom Sheard Alfie Gurney and Ajinka Gothoskar While Yash Thakrar anchored the innings with a calm 40 not out from 42 deliveries Gilford blasted his way to a stunning 51 off 18 balls including five fours and a quartet of maximums Gilford 33 off 16 balls also top scored in the final as the Hurricanes put a healthy 156 7 on the board after being inserted Captain Robbie Scudamore 32 and Thackrar 23 also played well while James Hoult and paceman Teddy Read 4 0 15 2 all claimed two fors The Strikers were in severe trouble because of Gilford and new ball partner Harry Funnell They were 31 8 as Gilford had astonishing figures of 6 3 at one stage including a triple wicket maiden Gilford ended with analysis of 4 1 9 6 while Funnell collected 2 29 including two important top order wickets Jack Rowley 15 Kieran Ward 15 not out and James 13 batted well to take the Strikers up to 82 the Hurricanes getting home by 74 runs They were presented with the trophy by Leicestershire CCC batsman

    Prices Community news 21st September 2015 LRC benefit from equipment donation Leicestershire and Rutland Cricket LRC recently received a number of sets of innovative cricket equipment thanks to the Cricket Factory As part of the LRC s Interfaith project cricket is being used to bring communities of different faiths together in order to break down barriers encourage friendships and community cohesion The kit will be of massive benefit as Leicestershire and Rutland Cricket will take the equipment around the two counties as part of the Community Engagement Programme Leicester born Academy graduate Aadil Ali who has made a big impression since being brought into Leicestershire County Cricket Club s first team thinks the donation will have a massive impact on the local community He said It is top quality equipment from the Cricket Factory and it is fantastic that we will be able to use it in our community sessions It is always good to get out into schools and into the local community in general I came through the age group and Academy system and was born and bred in Leicester so I can relate to how sessions with brilliant equipment like this can benefit youngsters who have a passion for the game Leicestershire and Rutland Cricket Head of Community Development Martyn Dobson added The innovative equipment given by Factory Eleven supported by Leeds based medical business Xiros will be used by the LRC at community and faith centres across the county as part of the cricket board s community engagement programme Connecting with the culturally socially and economically diverse communities that exist within Leicestershire and Rutland is central to the LRC s outreach programme and equipment such as this play a key role making our sport accessible and engaging to the next generation of Leicestershire cricketers The LRC

    and Advertising Events Tickets Online Booking 2016 Membership 2016 One Day T20 Season Ticket 2016 Charlie Fox Club 2016 David Gower Executive Club 2016 Match Ticket Prices Community news 17th September 2015 Busy weekend of action at Grace Road Grace Road is prepared for a busy weekend of T20 action with NatWest Under 19s Finals Day on Saturday followed by the Lord s Taverners City Cup on Sunday The first game on Saturday sees Ashby Strikers play Newbold Dragons 9 15am start before Loughborough Cobras take on Houghton Thurnby Hurricanes at 12 15pm The final will then start at 3 45pm Entry into the ground to watch the Finals Day is free There will be a bar food and music as well as the cricket so it will be a fun day for all of the family In the Lord s Taverners City Cup Final the following day Manchester take on Luton in what promises to be an exciting T20 game at 11 30am There is another T20 match after the final for the nominated best players from all the 12 cities involved That match is scheduled to begin at 2 30pm Entry to Grace Road is again free so please come on down to support the players As well as NatWest Under 19s T20 Finals Day on Saturday there will also be a celebration event for Move it Boom The challenge launched by Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust at the beginning of July has encouraged children and families to have fun getting active The winners were Tugby Church of England Primary School and a selection of 30 lucky pupils will receive a tour of Grace Road an educational interactive session and be presented with their trophy There is also one last exciting challenge pupils and teachers as well as their
