    Membership 2016 One Day T20 Season Ticket 2016 Charlie Fox Club 2016 David Gower Executive Club 2016 Match Ticket Prices Cricket News 27th July 2015 Monmouth CC pay tribute to Mike Monmouth Cricket Club in South Wales has paid tribute to former Leicestershire player chief executive secretary and manager Mike Turner MBE who died last week Mr Turner was the grandfather of Monmouth Cricket Club s first team captain Ben Turner and the father of Mike Turner junior who skippered the second team in 2013 Both of Monmouth s senior teams held a minute s silence in Mr Turner s honour before their respective league matches against Cardiff Gymkhana in the Glamorgan and Monmouthshire League on Saturday Monmouth Cricket Club spokesman Martin Newell said Ian Morgan and I were lucky enough to spend the afternoon with Mr Turner when he visited the club on a match day with his wife a few years ago and I presented him with a club tie during the tea interval Mr Turner was a regular correspondent to Ian and I during our time in office offering his advice and services in regards to grants and the new nets and other ways the club could move forward Mr Turner sat at the top table of the ECB and Leicestershire CCC so we were thrilled and honoured when his numerous letters e mails Christmas cards and suggestions came our way Our heart felt condolences go to Ben and Mike Jnr for their loss but also a huge thank you for introducing Ian and I to such an inspirational man Mr Turner who was 80 years old had remained in touch with the club s committee since his visit to the Sports Ground and was planning to visit Monmouth Cricket Club before the end of the season

    Events Tickets Online Booking 2016 Membership 2016 One Day T20 Season Ticket 2016 Charlie Fox Club 2016 David Gower Executive Club 2016 Match Ticket Prices Cricket News 23rd July 2015 Burgess signs for Leicestershire Leicestershire County Cricket Club is pleased to announce the signing of batsman and wicket keeper Michael Burgess on a contract until the end of the season Burgess who was born in Surrey has a first class average of 42 00 and has been part of the successful Loughborough MCCU side The 21 year old posted totals of 43 and 34 for Loughborough MCCU in first class games against Nottinghamshire and Hampshire at the start of this season and then scored a terrific 116 against Kent That was not a first class match at Canterbury because only the first two university games of the season have that status but Burgess faced a first choice Kent attack including Matt Coles Mitchell Claydon Darren Stevens Ivan Thomas and Adam Riley Burgess has since scored half centuries in the recent Second XI Championship games against Warwickshire and MCC Universities and also made 64 not out in a T20 game against Unicorns Burgess will wear the squad number 20 at Leicestershire

    management companies in the UK The 29 year old received his county cap in 2013 and was recently awarded a special cap for making his 100th first class appearance for the club The batsman retires having scored 7 085 runs for Leicestershire in all competitions including six centuries He said I d like to thank the club including the coaches support staff players and supporters for making my career in cricket so enjoyable Although it is not easy knowing I am not going to play again I m excited about the next chapter in my life and taking on a new challenge I ve been fortunate to plan and prepare for life after cricket and would like to thank the PCA in particular Charlie Mulraine and club sponsor Peter Wilcox for their support I ve been coming to Grace Road for 20 years and nothing would make me happier than seeing my current teammates do well in the future Finally I d like to thank my family and close friends for all of their help and support Boyce always put the team first and that was evident in the 2011 T20 Final at Edgbaston Boyce was not named in the side but made a vital contribution as a substitute fielder taking four catches in the deep off fellow Oakham School alumnus Josh Cobb as the team lifted the trophy Leicestershire and Rutland Cricket Chief Executive Wasim Khan MBE said Matthew has spent his entire career at Leicestershire County Cricket Club and we thank him for his immense contribution to the club Matthew scored a lot of runs for the club and was also an excellent role model for our younger players He was somebody who always played the situation and put the team first I know Matthew will enjoy success
