bit different to what I m used to a new environment with people who have done a lot in the game It s nice to be around players like Mark Cosgrove to see what they say and how they go about their game There are always chats going on in the dressing room so it s about picking up as much as you can and learning about the game your teammates and the opposition I learnt a lot during the two days It was my first game since June and I d only bowled on the square here in the past in net situations so it was exciting to get out in the middle and play at Grace Road Those sort of games give us a real feel for the environment and when I bowl at the pros again it will make me feel more comfortable They are all friendly and approachable and make you feel part of the dressing room The game marked the end of a journey of rehabilitation for Corbett who has put in a lot of hard work to ensure he was ready to play again Corbett thanked Leicestershire CCC staff for their help along the way and is full of praise for the Academy set up at Grace Road which is now headed up by Senior Coach Lloyd Tennant The Leicester born teenager has captained Leicestershire Young Cricketers at every age level from under 9s to under 17s and is looking forward to the rest of the summer where he will play club cricket at Syston Town while continuing to look to make an impression at Grace Road I ve done a lot of work with Head Physiotherapist Rob Leather on my rehab so hopefully it all goes well this summer he said Christina Carr

club is in a good place with Wasim Khan as Chief Executive and Andrew McDonald as Head Coach It is an environment where players will develop and we will only get better as a team as the season goes on There were moments in both the Glamorgan and Northants games where we were on top but we also know that we can improve In the first game I have never seen wind like that on a cricket pitch and it was just one of those situations where you had to find answers and a different way of doing things It was a credit to ourselves that we fought back so hard on a flat pitch We have showed good spirit so far and I thought we did well to get ourselves into a position where we were slight favourites going into the final day of the game We had an excellent first day against Northants but we knew there was still a lot of cricket in the game and we were very disappointed to lose But we have looked back at the performance and are now focusing on the Kent game Raine expects another tough challenge in Sunday s game at Canterbury 11am but said the team is ready The competition for places is creating a healthy environment and Raine knows he has to maintain his level of performance to stay in the side He said We know that Kent will be a well drilled outfit and they have plenty of experienced players in their ranks We had two good games with them last season so we know what to expect It s been nice to be part of the team so far and having different roles A couple of years ago I was opening the batting and if somebody

first win Clint McKay can feel the positivity and determination in the Leicestershire camp as the players look to record their first LV CC win of the season against Northamptonshire on Sunday County had a competitive game against Glamorgan in the opening fixture and are now looking to go one better against their East Midlands rivals Every time you walk out you re looking to win the game of cricket and that s what we ll be looking to do against Northamptonshire said McKay Unfortunately we weren t quite able to do that in the first game against Glamorgan but the report I heard was that the boys played beautifully and weren t too far away we just missed a couple of key moments in the game It wasn t to be but we got a good draw and there is a positive feel to the place We ll all be walking out on Sunday determined to get that first win It s been a beautiful week weather wise I ve had a good week of training and I m really looking forward to getting out there on Sunday McKay will bring an extra edge to the attack and his experience will also help to guide the battery of young seamers at the club He said Any senior guy coming into a younger group has to take responsibility in helping the younger guys out and I m looking forward to that challenge There are some great young kids coming through and the aim is to make them become better players for Leicestershire County Cricket Club and hopefully follow their dreams of one day playing for England I m looking forward to that role and there are some exciting times ahead McKay is in the 13 for the game with Rob
