    advice information and support Who Cares Scotland approached Maximillion for ideas for an activity to get team members together and learn something new in a relaxed and informal atmosphere After considering various options the group decided that Strictly Dance best fulfilled their brief Event Detail Duration 3 5 hours Venue Crutherland House Hotel Format 6 teams of 6 Guests 35 staff from offices all around Scotland Community based so don t often get the chance to get together Objectives Encourage and strengthen sense of team Break down barriers Integrate new members into the team Do something different Have FUN Outline Professional dancers kicked off the morning by cha cha cha ing onto the dance floor to the delight of the watching guests The dancers welcomed the group and gave an introduction to the type of dances they would be learning The group was split into ladies on one side and gentlemen on the other then instructed on the moves for the cha cha cha and tango in a fun and light hearted atmosphere Couples formed and had the opportunity to practice together Couples then formed groups and had to decide which couples would dance cha cha cha and which would dance the tango in the final performance The event concluded with guests showing off their new found fancy footwork with prizes presented to the most elegant and star performers Feedback Thank you for a great day our staff thoroughly enjoyed their Strictly Dance session Working in such close personal space with colleagues seemed to break down barriers Everyone really got into the spirit of the day with people s personalities coming through and a bit of competitiveness just added to the fun of the mix Since our session every now and again the office rings with the sound of cha

    diversity of the destination as well as helping forge relationships with key suppliers Following on from previous years Maximillion has been contacted to organise the team building activities as part of the buyers programme Event Detail Venue Various venues in Glasgow city centre Format Taxi team building event Guests 90 Objectives VisitScotland wanted to provide an opportunity for delegates attending the Scotland Means Business conference to explore Glasgow and get a feel for the city s venues attractions and culture The activity was to be fast paced informal and fun giving delegates the opportunity to network and provide them with a memorable experience Outline This was an opportunity for Maximillion to use a popular and established event style such as Taxi then add some bespoke elements in order to ensure that the guests maximised their time in Glasgow Working closely with the Glasgow venues we were able to design a brilliant treasure hunt which required guests to visit a number of interesting and unique Glasgow venues and in a short space of time to get a real feel for the atmosphere of the venues and of the city itself Feedback It was a great way to discover the city and

    staff together for some fun team building exercises This year the company was looking for something different to entertain an increased staff group And Maximillion proposed a You re Hired event which appealed to Tree s sense of fun as well as offering a meaningful business message Event Detail Venue Brighton Group size 35 participants Format Team tasks and boardroom showdown Guests Company employees mix of ages with a fun approach and open attitude Objectives To reward and thank staff with a fun activity Strengthen team relationships Allow individuals to demonstrate their business skills Work together to complete challenge Outline Once participants were divided into four teams Sir Colin Sugar marched in to deliver the brief to source and buy a list of obscure items with a limited budget using negotiation skills to get the best deals Additional tasks were to be completed along the way to gain additional budget and demonstrate teams creativity and ingenuity Time and project management skills were essential as teams negotiated their way around the streets of Brighton completing as many challenges as possible within the allocated time Nick and Margaret observers followed each team to provide insights and anecdotes in the nail biting boardroom showdown where the winning team was hired A videographer followed teams and Tree London will enjoy the edited footage for years to come Who was it for The event was participated by company employees mix of ages with a fun approach and open attitude Feedback We hadn t used Maximillion before and were very impressed with the creative and innovative ideas they proposed When our brief changed Maximillion was particularly responsive in presenting alternative ideas which met our new aims and objectives The day itself was brilliant and the feedback from our team has been overwhelmingly positive We were delighted

    approached Maximillion to propose a fun team building activity which would encourage delegates to think about the company s straplines and objectives as well as get to know one another better Following discussion Maximillion created a bespoke filming event to deliver on the client s requirements Event Detail Duration Half day Venue Fairmont St Andrews Format 20 teams of 10 Guests 200 mostly male Senior Managers Cluster Managers and Vice Presidents from Europe the Middle East and Africa Objectives Encourage delegates to engage with the company s straplines and objectives Give participants the opportunity to express themselves in a fun relaxed atmosphere Create a positive environment for interaction between colleagues Have FUN What we did Delegates were organised into teams and were allocated a company strapline or objective and tasked with creating a two minute film which would highlight the topic using a particular film genre such as spy or comedy Teams were issued with the basic equipment required to make their film In addition participants could use fun money to buy additional materials and services such as Props Costumes Sound equipment Studio space with backdrops Time with a make up artist Films were judged and the best bits shown during the evening s entertainment Once the golden envelopes were opened winners were announced and awarded their mini Oscar statues Who took part Those who took part were mostly Senior Managers Cluster Managers and Vice Presidents from Europe the Middle East and Africa What they said I just wanted to drop a quick note to say thank you very much for all of your help surrounding last week s event We brought together many elements to create the week s programme however none was credited as much as the team build event Can you please pass on our thanks to

    Working Lives Gold Award Event detail Duration One day event from mid morning Location Pentland Hills Regional Park Flotterstone Inn Guests 17 Format Group divided into three teams to complete an outdoor team building event with an environmental focus Objectives The main aim was to create a meaningful and worthwhile event with a positive sustainable impact and which would Enhance cross team collaboration and resourcefulness Raise awareness of and stimulate thoughts on environmental social and health issues Give the team the opportunity to get to know one another better outside the office Support the work the Keil Centre is undertaking to achieve the Healthy Working Lives Gold award Maximillion and the Pentland Rangers identified a worthwhile project around which we devised Team Tracks a Ground Force style challenge to extend the life and sustainability of two paths The activity was designed to be FUN and not merely a day of individual labour What we did The group of 17 was divided into three teams who worked together to complete the project successfully We injected light hearted cross team competition with each team vying to achieve their part of the project first thereby securing post event BBQ bragging rights Teams had to complete several challenges Construct two cross path drains Brash the trees on the edge of the path removing sharp hazards to walkers and cyclists Repair and tidy a section of stone dyke Contribute one team member on rotation to clear and repair existing drains Teams were given an instant camera to capture some shots during the day and materials to help them create a visual e g a flyer the front page of a newspaper a poem a collage etc to present to the rest of the group and to share their experiences On the successful achievement of their

    native English speakers Objectives Create a common language for the team through the MBTI profiling Strengthen team relationships and identify opportunities to improve cross team communication collaboration and team working Explore the workplace implications and applications of MBTI knowledge and learning at an individual and team and cross cultural level Allow individuals to have a fun shared experience through the outdoor activities Outline In advance of the day the Maximillion Lead Facilitator organised online MBTI profiling for all participants and produced interpretive 10 page individual reports and learning logs The data provided through the profiling assisted in the final design and positioning of the morning event In addition the incorporation of MBTI informed the production of an additional team learning log The group used the learning log to peer review their performance in selected outdoor activities in the afternoon In so doing they were able to reflect on how they played to each other s strengths and identified areas for development in light of the knowledge and learning gained through the morning workshop The morning workshop essentially combined theory with experience whereby the Lead Facilitator provided an insight into the background and rationale of Myers Briggs led an exploration of individual profiles the collective team picture in terms of strengths and areas for development raised awareness of the implications and applications of the profiling through experiential desktop team challenges identified opportunities to utilise the learning back in the workplace In the afternoon we took the group over to MadMax Adventures for an afternoon of outdoor fun TeamWorks Out problem solving challenges such as Viaduct and Broken Bridge The team was encouraged to peer review their performance in the tasks in the light of the MBTI profiling using the Team Learning Log provided Target archery Quad bike trail around Kirknewton Estate

    in May They approached Maximillion to propose a fun afternoon team building activity which would re enforce the morning s product training Following discussion Maximillion created a bespoke Taxi Treasure Hunt to meet the client s requirements Event Detail Duration Half day Venue Edinburgh City Centre Format 22 teams of 5 Guests 107 retail employees from all around the UK Objectives Encourage delegates to engage with the company s new product Opportunity for participants to express themselves in a fun and relaxed atmosphere Create a positive environment for interaction between colleagues Have FUN Outline After lunch delegates returned to the main conference suite and were divided into teams Each team was allocated a team phone the new product and tasked with gaining as many points as possible Points could be won by completing challenges found in booklets and received through different media on phones Teams were issued with fancy dress costumes for team identity before setting off in their taxis complete with trusty Cabby to help with local knowledge and entertain with witty banter Challenges included Information Hunt Scavenge Hunt Photo Challenge using the built in camera on their team phones Training Challenge answering questions on training received that morning Additional time bound challenges received through the team phones Challenges included tracking down gorillas and conversing with frogs ensuring a fun and light hearted event to ensure participants engaged with the new phone in a fun way Results were announced over dinner with winners receiving top prizes and the losers being presented with the obligatory wooden spoon Feedback Many thanks to you and you team for all your help with the Taxi activity last week Your local knowledge and experience of the city meant that it was well organised interesting fun and a great way to see Auld Reekie All
