    and expectation setting for the workshop we then went headlong into a cross team competition involving a practical experiential challenge the gravity defying head scratching Nail Game Needless to say neither team was totally successful in cracking it but the shared experience of undertaking the activity allowed us to start appreciating the different team roles allied behaviours and approaches to problem solving that an individual will display when tasked with a complex time bound project Using the activity as the platform to launch into the Belbin methodology a facilitated process followed which helped raise awareness of the implications and applications of our individual and collective team role preferences back in the workplace In terms of outcomes what was extremely useful was to see how we as a team play to each other s strengths According to the whole team role report This team contains a higher than average proportion of people oriented professionals It is likely to be greatly respected for its pleasant approach and its special expertise This team is likely to get on well together with good atmosphere and a sense of shared responsibility This will all make for a very pleasant working environment Its strength will be in its caring attitude and ability to adapt and respond to others From an individual perspective the following key points were highlighted for each member of the team Danielle Your operating style is one of responding to needs and of rendering support to others which can prove invaluable when errors could compromise a project Nick You are likely to be naturally gregarious and good at presenting yourself to best advantage so ensure that discussion is thorough Jonathan Your overall style is that of a well equipped team player Whether the focus is on the individual or the team you have

  • Turnberry Adventures: Phase 2 - Maximillion

    every member of the team I think I have asked over two million questions maybe more which have all been met with patience and knowledge I have learnt more than I expected and will take away the open minded progressive and helpful attitude to business as a life lesson We have been climbing taken part in the fantastic Wildgoose GPS Treasure Hunts quad biking had multiple taste tests and cookery competitions in the office to name but a few I will now embark on a year long post graduate degree in early year s education leading to being a qualified primary school teacher Although a different path I feel excited to be beginning a new adventure Maximillion have been a great support to me as I planned a wedding abroad tackled the mammoth visa application for my American husband and I am sad to say goodbye I am grateful for everything they have done for me and wish them all the best Just keep doing what you re doing Cat Slaters Alex Is starting As Danielle leaves one of our long standing event team members and Event Managers Alex Sharp steps up to fill the void Alex will be taking the helm of our MadMax and Turnberry Adventure centres as well as conducting project management work for our team building events We interviewed Alex to find out a little more about him and let you get to know him Alex in the style of Blind Date what s your name and where do you come from Hello My name is Alex Sharp and I m from Arnside Cumbria Please try and sum up your last year in 5 words Fun Hectic Varied Interesting and Snowy What is your greatest achievement to date Being crowned Undisputed Maximillion Karting Champion in 2013

    Woodward set on the Summer Isles Maximillion s own Island Adventures has been recently added to with Bandeoke for a client of Events Ecosse on the Isle of Eriska in June Eriska not to be confused with Eriskay in the Outer Hebrides of Whisky Galore fame is a tiny island on the west coast of Argyll Despite its diminutive proportions the island boasts a magnificent Victorian baronial mansion now a Relais Chateaux property complete with its own golf course and spa Eriska is our seventh island adventure preceeded by Jersey An ambitious Adventure Rally for Deutsche Bank incorporating scuba diving kayaking coasteering and jet skiing Isle of Man Famous for the TT race tailless cats and The Bee Gees Maximillion travelled to this Crown Dependency to delivery a series of three events for Manx Telecom each using Maelstrom Benbecula This island forms part of the chain collectively called the Outer Hebrides and you don t get much remoter than this A Family Fun Day for over 300 employees of defence technology multinational Isle of Wight We had a lot of fun creating a Caribbean Themed party during Cowes Week for Mount Gay Rum distilled in Barbados Ten tons of sand palm trees beach huts and lots of props developed into a slight security issue as they attracted the attention of trophy hunters Inchcolm Island A fascinating island on the Firth of Forth boasting a 12th Century Augustinian abbey at one end and an extensive World War Two artillery battery at the other We landed on the island in 2002 with an elaborate themed treasure hunt for YPO Young President s Organisation casting Bonnie Prince Charlie Flora Macdonald and some nasty Red Coats Skye The aforementioned Flora Macdonald gave refuge to the fugitive Prince three hundred years ago on this iconic
