    team by way of a pick up and thank you for the group Event Detail Date June 2010 Venue Cardrona Hotel Peebles Format Morning business session Full Throttle afternoon activities BBQ games Guests 20 participants Objectives Thank and reward key staff members Provide an unforgettable experience Team building and team bonding Design a varied programme which would include accommodation meeting space and activities which participants would not have previously experienced What we did Guests departed Edinburgh city centre in coaches on the morning of the event and were greeted by Maximillion staff on arrival at the venue The meeting session kicked off straight after refreshments and continued until a buffet lunch was served in the restaurant The weather could not have been more ideal for the afternoon activity which began with a safety briefing before guests were transported in 4 4 vehicles up to the activity field From there the group were split into 4 teams which rotated around 4 high adrenaline activities including blind 4 4 off road driving laser clays archery and a quad biking circuit At the end of the event scores and prizes were presented to the top scoring team before guests were transported back to the 4 hotel in Peebles where the group spent the night The day was concluded with a BBQ on the sports terrace with fun games and a few beers Who took part 20 of the key and influential members of management took part What they said We had an absolutely brilliant day from the moment we arrived Maximillion dealt with all our needs The events were great and everyone had tremendous fun Maximillion event arrange for the sun to be shinning all day The hotel was lovely and their staff very professional I have recommended Maximillion and The Cardrona Hotel

    to the day s activities Event Detail Venue Hampden Stadium Glasgow Style Large group team development Format Pre event BELBIN Team Role Type Profiling for all participants Self Perception Inventory 180 degree Observer Profiling On the day Maelstrom Group size 160 Duration Half Day afternoon Objectives To allow managers to identify and celebrate their strengths and leadership styles This will be done by introducing BELBIN Team Roles and then reinforcing the learning with an experiential activity Maelstrom The activity should be enjoyable and challenging and allow participants to review and evaluate performances in line with organisational objectives and best team practices Outline Prior to the day each participant completed their BELBIN SPI the results of which were then analysed and reports collated by Maximillion to help inform the design of the programme The results of the profiling allowed us to create teams based on the Team Role preferred styles to produce similar teams with as full a range of role types as possible represented therein On the day the Maximillion lead facilitator engaged the whole group with an introduction to the BELBIN Team Role history and rationale as well as the research that underpins it and profile output packs were distributed prior to the Maelstrom task Outline continued In Maelstrom the pre selected teams worked against the clock to complete a number of exciting team challenges strategising making key decisions on whether to collaborate for alliances or to compete to hinder The fast pace and shifting dynamics of the event required a high degree of cooperation communication and concensus to ensure success Facilitated sessions held after Maelstrom allowed participants to discuss their learning in a structured and supportive environment Outcome The BELBIN profiling was instrumental in creating a common language across the ASM community and encouraged coherence and the identification

    design Three months later we re engaged with the participants to gauge how this intervention had provided a basis for a return on investment through improved team effectiveness Event Detail Venue Kirknewton Stables Style Large group team development Format Morning TEI review Kinetic Connections Afternoon Full Throttle Country Pursuits activities including 4 4 driving archery clays quad biking Evening Drinks prize giving BBQ Guests 37 participants Objectives To engage the whole group in selected indoor and outdoor experiences that would Stimulate cross functional teamwork communication through positive interaction providing learning and creating workplace associations Strengthen relationships in a fun non threatening environment and provide a fun memorable and rewarding experience to all participants To provide the project sponsors by the end of the year with evidence of a return on investment in terms of improved team effectiveness Outline Each participant completed a pre event online survey comprising 20 rateable statements that related to the following areas positive roles norms team mission goal achievement empowerment open honest communication Collated results of the collected data were fed back to participants providing insights into current team performance strengths and development areas Building on this knowledge the whole group were to get hands on in the Kinetic Connections activity as a way to explore and address team communication issues and team dynamics The participants had to construct a series of mechanical sculptures that had to be correctly aligned to automatically enact the discovered story pulling together the culmination of all the inherent cryptic clues and riddles Outcome Following our initial intervention and subsequent in house initiatives based on our recommendations we engaged with the group again conducted and reviewed the initial Team Effectiveness Inventory TEI in December 2006 On comparing the August data with the December data and by isolating the variables that affected

    client had a successful year in 2010 the group decided to look into how they could keep the impetus going particularly focusing on their strengths Gallup s StrengthsFinder TM tool was chosen to enable this The client already uses Gallup s Q12 Staff Engagement questionnaire so some of the concepts were already embedded to an extent but a fuller background by way of introduction was required All team members undertook the StrengthsFinder TM questionnaire with the support of the version 2 0 book By the date of the event participants were on board with the StrengthsFinder TM concept Event detail Date April 2011 Location Switzerland Group size 11 Group profile Marketing Group a relatively new team comprising individuals in marketing conference and exhibitions admin training and forecasting roles Outline Facilitated by Lead Facilitator Richard Brown the programme combined facilitated input and discussion sessions with experiential activity based elements After a brief positioning discussion on both Q12 and StrengthsFinder the group was taken through a variety of exercises allowing them to examine how their strengths aligned to their roles in the organisation This was achieved through a mixture of self analysis table and group discussion and feedback All team members enthusiastically took part in the enactment of the various imaginary scenarios at the end including a particularly vigorously recreated bank robbery Richard commented it was a great pleasure to work with this group and the venue a state of the art office building with the French Alps in the distance was exceptional Feedback I wanted to thank you for Thursday I know the group got a lot of value from the event which is important as we seldom take that length of time away for development I was pleased that everyone seemed engaged in the session and that the atmosphere was
