    to become one of the UK s leading motor insurance distributors This is the third year of the Kwik Fit Employee Awards programme which has been set up to motivate and reward internal staff for their hard work on behalf of the company Maximillion has been working with the Awards committee since the very start of the programme to deliver the quarterly awards and annual award ceremony This year s event was recognised as the Best Corporate Event at the inaugural Scottish Event Awards in 2008 Event Detail Venue Prestonfield House Hotel Edinburgh Format Gala dinner Guests 200 Objectives Reflect the importance of the awards Make employees feel special and recognised Outline Maximillion was tasked with providing all aspects of this event including from venue finding and liaison through full show production to coach transfers for the guests From a shortlist of high quality venues Prestonfield won out due to its unique facilities and the fact that the venue could be taken over in its entirety by Kwik Fit Insurance Drinks reception in the sumptuous Rhubarb restaurant Dinner at the Stables complete with addressing the Haggis and Salute de Chef After dinner Awards ceremony presented through Scottish comedian Des Clarke

    beneficial connections Event detail Date February 2014 Venue Grand Central Hotel Glasgow Format Style Facilitated speed networking event Group 360 industry delegates comprising a mix of industry professionals and students Event scope and duration Full day event comprising 4 x networking sessions running in two parallel streams The brief The delegate groups were briefed by the Facilitators to use this session as a platform to work together with the objective of making positive connections with those in this room who shared a mutual interest For example they could be a student looking for career advice in a chosen specialism or for work experience or internship opportunities in 2014 Or they could be an industry professional seeking some emerging student talent for similar ends Equally they could be two industry pros who shared a professional interest and would like to develop this with a like minded contact in the months ahead How the session worked The workshop rooms were physically divided into separate networking zones each representing a key area of the industry There were 5 x 5 minute networking rounds allowing delegates to move from zone to zone Each round was run against the clock and initiated and closed by a whistle blow signalling that they had the choice to either stay in the same zone and continue networking or to move on to another zone to widen their quest for useful contacts At the beginning of the round delegates made their way to the zone of their choice and started networking The aim was for each delegate to engage with the industry pros or students present in that zone only Using a specially designed A5 booklet they recorded information on the useful contact made along with the area of mutual interest and most importantly what the next step would

    name of Petrogas Group Limited chose Edinburgh as the destination of choice for its 2011 staff incentive The group comprised a mixed male female group ranging in age from 20s to 50s who were very much up for some active challenging and competitive team building activities Applegreen chose Edinburgh because of its reputation as a great city break destination Applegreen s Lisa Carlin initially contacted Maximillion with a brief for an It s A Knockout style event Through further consultation with Applegreen Maximillion proposed its Highland Fling multi activity format and in addition a Taxi Treasure Hunt around Edinburgh city centre Event detail Date Spring 2011 Venue Kirknewton Stables and Edinburgh City Centre Format Group divided into smaller teams for both activities Guests 55 Outline The Taxi event took in classic Edinburgh haunts such as The Castle The Royal Mile Holyrood Castle as well as some of the city s best known secrets such as Ghillie Dhu and hidden closes The Highland Fling event took place at Maximillion s Kirknewton Stables venue and included whisky tasting birds of prey handling country pursuit and traditional competitive Highland Games team activities all in the glorious setting of Kirknewton Estate located just outside Edinburgh in West Lothian Outline Both event options very much hit the mark with Applegreen in terms of what they wanted to achieve through the trip Each event engaged the group in ways that played to the participants strengths and areas of interest while the Highland Fling providing an authentic experiential taste of Scotland in a fantastic country house setting with The Taxi Treasure Hunt showing off the very best of Edinburgh in all its historical cultural and contemporary dimensions Feedback Lisa Carlin Head of Trading at Applegreen commented Thanks to Sarah and Sandy for taking such good care of
