    and guidance signposting to sources of funding assisting with funding bids administration support lobbying of local and national government and other stakeholders improving and sustaining the environmental and cultural heritage and securing economic benefit for the islands We are proud to support the Community Councils of Mull and Iona and in particular have contributed positively on a number of recent initiatives in partnership with the Mull Community Council There are many positive examples of the Community Trust securing or assisting other organisations in securing funds to allow for improvements within the community To see a full list of the results please click here In addition to securing funding for specific projects the Trust has provided references for or assisted with funding bids for many island based groups clubs and organisations Applying for funds can be a pain staking process the Community Trust are at hand to offer assistance if needed Please click here to view a list of groups the Community Trust has assisted The Trust provides administration support and or constitutional assistance to many island based groups companies and organisations To view a full list of the organisations the Trust provides support to please click here The Community Trust is aware of the pressures facing islanders and lobbies to provide more affordable housing on the islands and improve the transport infrastructure including the improvement of piers The Trust has also been involved in facilitating the following events Wild Isles Mull Iona Wildlife Week The Taste of Mull Iona Food Festival A national conference on sustainable land use and subsequently established the Mull Iona Land sea Forum LASF to ensure community input into development issues The Trust is a member of various organisations and networks ensuring a voice for the residents Mull Iona and also using our expertise to offer

    community projects on the islands Without the Community Trust securing these funds this money would have been distributed elsewhere with Mull and Iona reaping no benefit The Community Trust offers employment and volunteering opportunities within a fragile rural economy MICT is pleased to be able to provide direct benefit to the community through the surpluses we are able to distribute from MESS Island Castaway Charity Shops and the Mull Eagle Watch Since 2006 over 28 300 has been awarded to community groups through the MESS Funds MESS Funds Recipients Oct 2013 and over 41 500 has been awarded to community groups through the Sea eagle Funds SE Recipients Oct 2013 If you belong to a community group or local organisation or local project on the islands of Mull Iona Ulva or Erraid and would like to apply for funds maximum 500 please print off and return a MESS funds application form or Sea Eagle application form to MICT An Roth Community Enterprise Centre Craignure Isle of Mull PA6 5 6AY Through the ongoing projects many more benefits to the community have arisen MESS has diverted over 422 tonnes of waste from the local landfill site outside Tobermory The MESS Project

    show for you alone Whatever outdoor pursuit you partake in Mull and Iona are the places to do it Whether it is walking cycling fishing bird watching wildlife watching and photography these islands offer the ideal location You may wish to follow your hobby yourself but there are many sea based and land based tour operators who will guide you around the island and give you a real taste of Mull To help you enjoy Mull and Iona to a maximum the Ranger Service has been involved in the production of several leaflets which can be picked up from Tourist Information Centres or requested from the Ranger Service Outdoor leaflet Outdoors on Mull and Iona leaflet was produced in partnership with Mull Deer Management Group It is an all you need to know guide to making the most of being out and about on Mull Argyll and Bute Local Access Forum Mull and Iona Service is represented on the Local Access Forum and we are often the first point of contact for access users and land managers if help is need or if there is a problem We regularly assist the Council s Access Department in providing up to up date information on access on Mull and Iona and have been thoroughly involved in the Core Path Plan for the island http www argyll bute gov uk planning and environment outdoor access argyll and bute Recreational Site Management The Ranger Service is responsible for the day to day management of all the Forestry Commission Recreational sites on Mull This involves making sure they are all presented to the public to the highest possible standard that they are safe that they are well sign posted and that they are clean and tidy http www forestry gov uk In addition to Forestry
