    Programme Offer of the Month Open Studios Packaging Paper Patterns Peandants Photography Pinterest Recycled Recycled Silver Recycling RePlumbed Collection Rings Round The Horn Sale Sea Glass Sewing Silver Social Social Media Spoons Stationery Stocking Fillers Studio Tax Textures Trade Shows Travel TTC Pregnancy Twitter Upcycling Valentines Gift Vintage Website Wholesale Windchime Winter Warmth 2015 Work In Progress Round The Horn 2014 13th November 2014 It s that time of year again when we creative folk in Kinghorn open the doors of our shops galleries and studios to the public for our unique one day creative trail around the village we ve aptly named Round The Horn This year we have a very exciting lineup and lots of new people exhibiting with us for the very first time Round The Horn is happening on Saturday the 22nd of November There will be 10 venues to visit and a total of 20 artists designers and makers involved Things are a little different this year in that we ve introduced a stamping sheet So instead of using our lovely leaflet to collect stamps for entry into our amazing prize draw and handing this in at the end of your trail you get to keep the leaflet and hand in a stamping sheet instead Did I mention a prize draw Yep at the end of the day we will put all completed stamping sheets into a hat a draw out a winner One lucky person will win a stocking full of handcrafted goodies and other gifts from ALL the artists involved so that s 20 items in one mahoosivefestive stocking to be won But you have to complete the whole trail around the village and collect all 10 stamps in order to enter We ve distributed our leaflets locally and a little further afield this year and are already getting a sense it s going to be a very busy day Our Facebook likes are increasing and it d be great to reach 300 by Saturday the 22nd so please spread the word Catherine Lindow our resident cartographer extraordinaire has created yet another original map for this years event Over the next week I m going to try and post daily to let you know what Milomade goodies will be available to buy and also let you know of any offers that will be available on the day if you buy direct from my studio But today I would like to let you get a preview of the people involved in Round the Horn 2014 and list the venues where you can see their work Venue 1 Kinghorn Station Studios and Gallery Lynette Gray Acrylics Watercolours Mixed Media Paul Neal Creative Woodwork Venue 2 Kinghorn Station Studios and Gallery Douglas Gray Oils Watercolours Mixed Media Prints Annie Crow Semi precious Jewellery Venue 3 Pettycur Road 45 Evie Milo Milomade Jewellery Stationery Accessories Decorations ME Julia Laing Materialised Textile Accessories Art Gifts Venue 4 Pettycur Road 77 Gilly Lee Fishtail Art Paintings Prints Cards Gifts

    list was the studio of Kate Loundon http katelaundon blogspot co uk On display were loads of her woodcut prints and she kindly explained how they were made I fell in love with one entitled Ship In Bottle and I suddenly realised I had come to an Open Studios event without my cheque book or any cash I d spent everything I had at Jill s how stupid of me I ve since however discovered I can buy it from her Etsy shop online and I might just do that My next stop was a complete surprise at number 61 the studio of Kate Hajducka www katehajducka com Through the open doors I saw the most amazing walled garden it totally drew me in and then I saw Kate s work which was also amazing I m not really a painting person but Kate s work is really quite unique as she doesn t use oils or acrylic and instead paints with beeswax and pigments I wish I d taken a photo of her working as she uses a muffin type baking tray with tea lights underneath each compartment into which she melts the beeswax and mixes the pigments The colours are so vibrant and some of the small paintings of flowers were just amazing textures colours etc We had a great chat about her process and also about gardening I wish I could afford her work but as I m on maternity leave at the moment with no real income I ll just have to save up and wait until next year and pop back Next was the studio of Lisa Rooney www peskygulls com Her studio was up in the attic a really lovely space with the most amazing views out to the Isle of May There were a few other people there and when one lady asked how old Milo was and found out he was 10 weeks she exclaimed really loudly that I looked amazing this made me feel amazing as I ve been having problems with my body image since giving birth and losing my lovely firm round baby bump So to get such a compliment from a complete stranger really made me feel great Lisa s work is interesting lovely ceramic pieces with fantastic little illustrations of dogs people boats birds and cakes on them all incredibly reasonably priced I manage to scrape 4 together from my very empty wallet and the dregs of mt handbag and bought one of her little ship badges I also visited the studio of Ann Smith Ann had drawings and paintings on display and has such a lovely space to work in and also another amazing garden and view Her house like so many in this part of Fife was full of oddly shaped rooms walls with nooks and crannies and angles everywhere makes our house in Kinghorn seem very dull in comparison It was so nice to see work in situ in and amongst all the everyday

    Milomade Shop MuseumsSheffield Music Film New Stockists Next Steps Programme Offer of the Month Open Studios Packaging Paper Patterns Peandants Photography Pinterest Recycled Recycled Silver Recycling RePlumbed Collection Rings Round The Horn Sale Sea Glass Sewing Silver Social Social Media Spoons Stationery Stocking Fillers Studio Tax Textures Trade Shows Travel TTC Pregnancy Twitter Upcycling Valentines Gift Vintage Website Wholesale Windchime Winter Warmth 2015 Work In Progress Picking blackberries ergonomically 4th September 2013 I was kindly given the loan of an Ergo Carrier last week to try it out as taking Milo out in the backpack is becoming too much if a strain OMG I ve hated it and loved it at the same time What a nightmare to get him in it and then it on my back with him still in it I ve struggled and struggled but I ve persevered as once its on it is SO comfy and I can carry him for a lot longer than when he s in the backpack The weather has been amazing lately so the other day we went for a long walk down the coastal path with the dog We had the place to ourselves I wish I d taken my phone camera but I forgot so didn t take any glorious photos of the glorious fruit basking in the glorious sunshine It was one for the pot and one for Milo As I picked his tiny hand would poke me in the shoulder and reach out for another berry We both came home with berry stained fingers and tongues You may also like to read the following related posts Exploring Ravenscraig A visit to Ripon Children have their uses Part 1 Getting fit for free hopefully Posted in Life the universe and everything Tagged Food Milo 4 comments on Picking blackberries ergonomically Claire 8 September 2013 at 12 26 pm If you like the idea of an ergo but want something easier to get into a back carry I wholeheartedly recommend you look at a Beco V similar principle but with a thin layer between you and Milo you can clip him into it on the sofa before lifting it and him onto your back That was the clincher for me when I was trying to decide between an Ergo and a Beco Butterfly I got mine from Slumber roo who let me rent for a fortnight first to make sure it worked for me No affiliation just a happy customer Milomade 8 September 2013 at 10 56 pm Thanks for the tips I ve watched a few YouTube videos and I think this is the carrier for me I love the fact that the butterfly gives you that little bit of extra security plus the fact that I could be carrying Milo and then take the carrier off and pass it to my partner to put on and we wouldn t need to take Milo out of it Sadly though Beco discontinued the butterfly carrier earlier this year
