  • Most Common Lies Told When Claiming on Mobile Phone Insurance Policy - Mobile Phone Insurance
to report it to the police If you lie about your mobile phone being taken you ll be lying to the police in order to make a statement and obtain a crime reference number to give to your insurance provider Falsely reporting the theft of a mobile phone is a criminal offence and offenders can face prosecution for wasting police time and deception In layman s terms Don t bother lying about a stolen handset Breaking it was unavoidable Most insurance policies cover accidental damage but only if this damage hasn t occurred through negligence or general stupidity If you trip and drop your handset you ll probably be OK but if you ve been waving your phone enthusiastically in the air at a Beyonce concert and fling it across the stadium you probably won t be covered People will often try to claim that their broken phone was a totally accidental occurrence that couldn t have been avoided but if you re seen to have been totally careless don t try and lie to claim otherwise I didn t cancel my policy Some people will claim they still have a mobile phone insurance policy long after they ve taken the decision to cancel it because they wrongly assumed they d have no need for such protection Well unlucky guys If you cancel a policy don t expect to still be able to claim for anything at all You snooze you lose So this is what happened If you just suddenly decide you re bored of your handset and take a hammer to it in order to make it look broken beyond repair don t try telling your insurer that you left the phone on the roof of your car reversed and ran over the thing Investigators can look closely
