  • Implementation of employment tribunals fees - Part 2 | Noble HR

    to have that essential element of public interest That requirement will apply to all disclosures which are made on or after 25 June 2013 Employees will be able to submit a claim of unfair dismissal to an employment tribunal related to their political opinions and affiliations without having the normal two years qualifying service before you can bring a claim of unfair dismissal This is line with discrimination claims Employees who wish to pursue an unlawful deduction of wages claim will have to pay a fee of 160 when issuing a claim form and 250 as a hearing fee approximately 4 6 weeks before the tribunal hearing Whilst employees who wish to pursue an unfair dismissal or discrimination claim will have to pay an issue fee of 230 and a hearing fee set at 950 So an employer what do you need to do We would recommend Updating your whistle blowing policy to reflect the seriousness of action being taken against a colleague who whistle blows and stress that this policy can only be used if the complaint is in the public interest It might also be worth mentioning that the grievance procedure is to be used if an employee has a concern about their employment Update the wording on Equal Opportunities policies disciplinary policies etc to reflect that discrimination on the grounds of political opinions and affiliations is now discriminatory and action will be taken against any employee deemed to be acting in a discriminatory manner If you need any help in implementing these changes please contact us on 0151 348 6660 or This email address is being protected from spambots You need JavaScript enabled to view it This email address is being protected from spambots You need JavaScript enabled to view it Tweet Leave a comment You are
