  • General information.
    diaphragm moves the magnetism changes and produces a signal change Can be used in most pressure ranges Measurement according to the BFSL principle Skriv ut bild Thin film Another sensing principle A thin coating on one side of the diaphragm produces the same effect as the piezo element i e the resistance changes when the sensor is pressurized Generally used in pressure ranges over 16 bar Max deviation The accuracy class is indicated with max deviation according to DIN16086 which entails so called absolute accuracy This accuracy class does not just include deviation from the ideal line but also deviation in the zero and max points Furthermore the value applies for 100 of all sensors that leave the factory Accuracy class according to the so called BFSL principle Best Fit Straight Line corresponds to about half of the absolute accuracy indicated Both the values are specified in the technical specification for the respective model In the 2 diagrams we show how the same performance produces different deviations depending on whether account is taken of the correct zero and max points Linearity Indicated how much the sensor deviates from the ideal line Hysteresis Indicates how great a difference there is in a measuring point depending on whether the pressure is going up or down Long term stability Indicates how much the sensor can operate during for example one year Overpressure protection Indicates how high a pressure the sensor can withstand without being damaged Response time Indicates how long it takes for the sensor to reset in conjunction with a pressure change Temperature deviation Indicates how much the sensor deviates if the temperature changes A certain range is electronically compensated usually 0 ºC to 80 C which means that the deviation is lower than outside this range The temperature deviation is indicated for the compensated range Adjustability Indicates whether the sensor can be set at the zero point and max value point The setting is carried out inside the electrical connection on 2 potentiometers Skriv ut bild Important to consider Pressure spikes Pressure transducers are most sensitive to substantial pressure spikes that can occur in for example hydraulic systems and water systems Pressure peaks can be anywhere from 10 to 400 over the normal working pressure which makes it important to be aware of the system s max pressure and to dimension the sensor s pressure resistance accordingly Pressure peaks can be counteracted by means of orifices in the connection Aggressive media Most sensors are made of high quality steel but it is important to check carefully that the media used is compatible with the steel in the sensor Electrical load Depending on the type of signal all sensors require a certain load or resistance in the connection to the equipment in question it is important to check whether these correspond with the values indicated for the sensor See respective data sheet in the catalogue Temperatures Extreme temperatures affect the sensor s accuracy more than anything else With these type of applications
