  • I concede defeat.... - Popham Alpacas
after the Futurity he has been moved to Fawn in the future My second Hobgoblin on closer examination by the senior partner and myself is even more fawn than Commander So he is out My final choice Dino who was initially my first has a bad bite so even though he has the best fleece of the three he would not do very well and I would prefer not to take him into the ring The judge would look at me very strangely with a sort of don t you know anything sort of look So there you have it Mark congratulations you truly are the Mighty Brown Breeder of Patou I suspect it will be a hollow victory but I owe you that BBQ sometime Posted in Cria Post navigation Futurity Results 2011 Further Industry at Popham 3 thoughts on I concede defeat Mark says 16th March 2011 at 3 18 pm Well that has given me a rather long chuckle Sorry that your candidates will not be competeing with THE MIGHTY PATOU ROGER RESILIENT AKA THE POPHAMBASHER who will now be paraded around the paddock like the true champion that he is Actually between you and me I was kind of dreading it he came nowhere at The Futurity and his fleece needs to change a bit for him to do any real damage in the ring Still victory is ours and we will gloat and boast about it for many months We look forward to the ensuing Barbecue invitation Reply gary sanders says 16th March 2011 at 3 47 pm Well that didn t take you long Mark I have only just pressed the enter button to post the blog I will take earplugs to the Swag show actually on second thoughts I may send someone in

  • Absent from the blog.... - Popham Alpacas
Park Apparently it is being built on old industries and tanneries etc so all the waste and water outflows need to be monitored He should be working there till summer 2011 Being an avid fan of Spurs he treated his parents to a game at White Hart Lane for Mothers day Well I ve been a rugby fan all my life and have never played football but what an excellent game it is to watch live When viewing on tv you just don t realise the movement and speed of the game and the skill Certainly better in real life than on the telly Spurs winning 3 1 helped the day Nicely rounded off by the the fact that my first ever football bet paid off Correct score paying out at 9 1 Beginners luck was all Phil could say Sunday we visited the Natural History Museum where I drooled over the 2009 World Wildlife photography exhibition What talent Back to the alpacas yesterday and the first thing was to deliver the 3 girls to Jacqui at Cherokee Alpacas where they soon settled in to their new home She s got a nice bunch coming on there I had a look at Little Legend male weanling she was thinking of selling but he is definitely good enough to show so watch out for him at Devon County The Popham fields and raceways are so dry and brown they are beginning to resemble the high veld Plumes of dust follow the quad around The alpacas are beginning resemble antelope and the rhea look like ostrich running across the African plains with a little bit of imagination or perhaps I just spent too long in the Natural History Museum Posted in Cria Post navigation Experience day New home Leave a Reply Cancel

  • First time I have ever experienced a maiden nurture her own and a bottle fed - Popham Alpacas
was born on Wimbledon men s final day all seemed to be fine except he was constantly at the milk bar This I treat as a warning sign and unfortunately mum had no milky but loved her new baby So I eventually got a little Osmonds colostrum into him but he was fighting and not at all keen So next decision to stomach tube plasma to make sure he had the necessary antibodies I kept persevering with the bottle but eventually had to stomach tube him again with Osmonds colostrum The next day took the bottle very reluctantly and so one for a few days but mum still no milk So we had to take Novac away and then once mum was out of the equation he started to take the bottle and so I heaved a sigh of relief Then it all started to go downhill he completely refused the bottle I noticed that he was following Dee Dee around and then early one morning as I approached to feed him he was suckling from Dee Dee and she was perfectly happy What a star her little boy is doing well and he appears to be doing ok not gaining much weight but still with us Novac allows Dee Dee s cria to drink first and then he tucks in and while this is all going on she stands patiently Alpacas never cease to amaze me such wonderful intelligent animals Posted in Cria Post navigation Photos of some of our cria born over the last month Great news for our Appaloosa breeding program One thought on First time I have ever experienced a maiden nurture her own and a bottle fed Jayne says 24th July 2014 at 3 58 pm Lovely story Felicia sometimes one gets females like that
