    adopts the changing environmental priorities and legislation requirements In order to achieve this our activities will be organised and managed through an Environmental Management System designed around the ISO 14001 Environmental Standard The Environmental responsibilities ultimately rest with the Managing Directors of the Company This responsibility shall be delegated without abrogation through the line management where applicable Every manager shall be responsible for ensuring that adequate resources are made available to achieve the stated aims of this policy which shall be communicated to all levels in the organisation and every employee will support and be fully committed to its implementation RJ McLeod expects other organisations and individuals with whom we do business to demonstrate the same level of commitment to this policy and to reduce where possible the Environmental impacts of RJ McLeod s operations and processes by the introduction of continuous improvement To achieve this RJ McLeod will Meet and where possible exceed the requirements of all applicable legislation and regulations Seek to reduce the consumption of Primary materials in all operations re use rather than dispose whenever possible promote recycling and ensure that the methods of disposal for unusable wastes are safe Strive to reduce the overall amount and toxicity of emissions discharges and wastes which may cause harm or damage to employees the natural environment or the public and communities in which it operates to the absolute practicable minimum Develop implement and monitor site specific control measures in order to prevent pollution Minimise the risks of environmental accidents through risk assessment and maintain and improve emergency plans in order to minimise adverse environmental effects Assess new developments processes and procedures for environmental and ecological impact before introduction Educate train and motivate employees to carry out their activities in an environmentally responsible manner in accordance with the Company
