    London Since then he has firmly established himself as an organist accompanist organ harpsichord and piano and conductor in both the United Kingdom and abroad He has performed on many occasions in Norway Sweden Denmark Finland Germany France Holland Luxembourg Austria Italy and Switzerland including the International Festivals at Lahti and Sorø His performances in the United Kingdom have included those at London s major Concert Halls many Cathedrals and Leeds Town Hall He has also broadcast and appeared on television and has made discs of organ music on important Swedish organs for the Swedish Company Opus 3 In the United Kingdom he has recorded for the Priory label In recent years he has made organ concert tours of Germany Italy Sweden Holland and the Czech Republic He studied the piano in London with Lina Collins who was a pupil of Paderewski and Mathilde Verne the latter being a pupil of Clara Schumann He is an examiner and moderator for the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music and has had many carols organ editions and arrangements song collections and recorder pieces published over many years Recently he was commissioned by Oxford University Press to compile a four volume graded Anthology of English 18th Century Organ music This was published in 2013 In 1998 he founded his own publishing company Fitzjohn Music Publications which specialises in the publication of the more unusual music for piano solo piano duet piano trio 6 hands piano quartet 8 hands on 2 pianos organ solo vocal solo and sacred choral music David Patrick has become known as a successful choral conductor having conducted small and massed choirs in many places including the Royal Albert Hall in London In 1973 he conducted the world premiere of John Joubert s opera The Prisoner and has

    Orchestra del Roma e del Lazio with Moshe Atzmon and The Moscow Virtuosi with Vladimir Spivakov She made her debut recording at the age of sixteen with Delos Records and the album Music of Chopin and Liszt Dinara Klinton performed Scarlatti Sonatas K466 and K455 and Chopin s Etudes Opus 25 No 10 11 and 12 in the second round and in her final performance she played Beethoven s Sonata Opus 78 Prokoviev s Sarcasms Opus 17 Liszt s Transcendental Etude No 5 and Gounod Liszt s Waltz from Faust Hannah Watson was named as runner up and received a cheque for 1000 Hannah is currently studying at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama with Caroline Palmer and Martin Roscoe In 2013 she completed her M Mus year with distinction She studied at Cambridge University with Thalia Myers from 2008 2012 and had previously attended the Royal College of Music Junior Department from 2004 gaining an ABRSM Diploma with distinction Cambridge provided her with a wealth of very different musical opportunities from solo and concerto playing in West Road Concert Hall to song and chamber recitals in Kettles Yard and a tour with the CU Chamber Orchestra Highlights of the Guildhall course have included Chabrier s piano pieces at the Barbican a concerto performance with the Guildford Symphony Orchestra and a song recital at St Martin in the Fields Hannah Watson performed Janacek s Sonata From the Street 1st movement Schubert s Hungarian Melody D817 and Debussy s L Isle Joyeuse in the second round and in the final round she played Bach s Prelude and Fugue in C Sharp minor and major Sibelius Six Finnish Folksongs and Messiaen s Regard de l Eglise d Amour Third place and a cheque for 500 was awarded to Madelaine Jones who is currently studying at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance studying piano and improvisation with Penelope Roskill and Douglas Finch respectively She is a previous winner of the John Halford Piano Competition the Gladys Puttick extemporization Competition and the Medway Young Musicians Award Her choral accompaniment experience has included working alongside the BBC Singers Madelaine has a particular interest in early keyboard music and instructions previously studying harpsichord with James Johnstone on an Early Music Scholarship at Trinity Laban She has performed as a harpsichordist and chamber organist wit the Trinity Laban Baroque Orchestra and Vocal Ensemble in the Greenwich Early Music Festival Madelaine Jones played Gubaidulina s Chaconne and Farrenc s Air Russe Varie in the second round and in the final she performed Bach s Prelude and Fugue in D minor Stravinsky s Sonata 1924 Farrenc s Etude in F sharp minor Opus 26 No 10 Bach s Partita in A minor and Stravinsky s Tango The Norah Sande Award continues to interest the very top young pianists on the cusp of an international performing career Applications were high in both quantity and quality which enabled us to put on an outstanding Second Round and Final enjoyed

    2005 Riyad was selected to take part in the London International Piano Competition where he won an Educational Award The same year he was awarded a two year scholarship to study with Sulamita Aronovsky at The Purcell School and continued working with her at the Royal Academy of Music During his studies in the UK Riyad won numerous prizes and CD recording offers His performance in June 2007 of the Prokofiev Piano Concerto No 3 at St John s Smith Square London prompted critics to comment n the exceptional brilliance of the young artist After graduating Riyad won first prize in the Christopher Duke Piano Recital Competition and he has played at the Brighton Festival and London s Cadogan and Wigmore Halls He is soon to tour Spain and Switzerland Riyad also has a teaching diploma from the Royal Academy of Music and is an official piano teacher for the London Music Centre His passion and success in promoting Arabic contemporary compositions led to invitations to perform at the Brunel Institute for Contemporary Middle Eastern Music and the Arab British Centre Riyad played Beethoven s Sonata in A flat major Chopin s Ballade No4 and Legeti s Fanfares in the final round of the 2013 Norah Sande Award which won him first place Gamal Khamis was named as runner up and received a cheque for 1000 Gamal was born in London and studied under John Barstow MBE for eight years at the Royal College of Music Junior Department After a degree in Mathematics at Imperial College he undertook his Masters in Music at the RCM graduating in 2012 and gaining the highest examinable award the Artist Diploma as well as numerous prizes awards and scholarships As a soloist Gamal has performed in many prestigious venues including the Wigmore and Steinway

    the Audience Prize in the 2011 Jaques Samuel Intercollegiate Piano Competition and the Piano section of the 2010 Tunbridge Wells International Young Concert Artists Competition In 2009 Mishka represented the UK in the EU Piano Competition Prague where she won the Chopin Prize and at 13 she won first prize in the Leschetzky Concerto Competition New York Mishka had a busy weekend The day after her success at the Norah Sande Award she gave a recital at St Margaret s Church Westminster Abbey Earlier in the year she gave a solo recital at the Barbican Hall and played Chopin on BBC1 s Andrew Marr Show to promote their Chopin Bicentennial celebrations and in March performed Schubert on BBC Radio 3 s In Tune programme Her concert experience includes most major London venues including the Wigmore Hall QEH RFH and The Purcell Room and abroad in New York Weimar Prague Mumbai and Cologne Mishka has played in masterclasses for Paul Lewis Stephen Hough and for Lang Lang at LSO St Luke s which was filmed for broadcast Ashley Fripp also a former student of the Purcell School and a First Class Honours graduate of the Guildhall School of Music and Drama was named as runner up in the Norah Sande Award and received a cheque for 1000 Ashley has given solo and concerto performances in prestigious UK venues and overseas including Carnegie Hall and Audimax Hall Regensburg He has won first prize in more than a dozen national and international competitions including the coveted Gold Medal from the Guildhall School first prize in the Brant International Piano Competition and the Award for Keyboard at the Royal Overseas League Competition 2011 He has also appeared on BBC TV and radio and has performed in the Edinburgh International Chipping Campden and City of
