  • Can anyone write effective web content? - Sarah Gibbs
do this Good effective web design of course but ultimately it s the words that matter most Its the web content writing that can really get into the heads of your customers that makes them realise that YOU can give them what they want your product is a must have that they will miss out if they don t do what you want them to do So now I come back to my original question Can anyone write this kind of persuasive content In a nutshell no Some people may think they can but the key to a successful website is to hire a web content copywriter who can empathise with customers who can get into their heads and understand them who can communicate with them rather than to them It s almost as if we re talking face to face What else is important Of course spelling and grammar are important too but the web is different It needs an informal and friendly tone a persuasive voice and short punchy sentences and paragraphs that keep the customer engaged and interested So what s so special about me It helps that I m naturally empathetic and enthusiastic and this shines through in the words I use and how I put them together I also stick to 6 principle rules when I write web content I work out why the product or service can really benefit the customer I get the customers attention I capture their interest I show them why they want the product or service I show them how and when to buy Can I help you with your web content I hope so Contact me at www sarah gibbs co uk Share this article Share on Facebook Opens in new window Click to share on Twitter Opens in

  • So...'what do you do'? - Sarah Gibbs
I usually start by saying I write and then before eyes widen too much quickly expand with things such as I write for websites I write promotional copy and I write online and offline copy particularly for the tourism world And this seems to do the trick But it makes me realise three things How important it is to be able to describe what we do in simple and easy terms How fortunate I am to be able offer a flexibility of writing services that suits a variety of clients and projects How it seems that in the 21st century more and more of what we do as jobs cannot be pigeonholed into one word My job is to make things easily understandable on screen and on paper So perhaps this is what I should say when asked what do you do But then maybe it isn t quite that simple Share this article Share on Facebook Opens in new window Click to share on Twitter Opens in new window Click to share on Pinterest Opens in new window Click to share on LinkedIn Opens in new window copywriting web content writing working freelance writing writing for the web Related By Category Creativity in pottery Time Happy Nia New Year It was National Freelancers Day yesterday Successful freelancing Related Posts By Tags Word of the Week Balk Word of the week Groovy Word s of the week Manse and Jinny Can a web content writer really write about absolutely anything Word of the week Pumpkin Words of the Week Twitterpated vs Atrabilious Creativity with wonderful word clouds Doing things for the love of it Word of the week JUGGLING Word of the week GROUNDED Words of the Week Twitterpated vs Atrabilious Word of the week JUGGLING Time Creative thoughts CAN
